I've been banking with Independent Bank for years and this office in particular has been very pleasant to work with. Every employee is helpful and personable. Highly recommended.

Your money is not safe here. My wife and I own a small business. Fake checks from Nigeria we’re cashed on our account. Carol Wakley from their fraud department had refused to help us and told us to deal with the Bank in Nigeria. Beware!!!!

My sister and I had to deal with my parents estate after my Father passed away and my Mother moved into a nursing home. The financial piece of everything was so daunting until we started working with Leonard Adam. Each time I had to go to the bank with an overwhelming Financial task, I would feel so stressed. I kept thinking I was really going to frustrate Leonard one of these times because my parents estate was so complicated. Each and every single visit, Leonard demonstrated not only extreme patience but exceptional kindness. He immediately would put me at ease. He even told me some stories about my dad. Mind you, I loved my dad dearly, but he was not an easy man to work with sometimes. The fact that Leonard had such legitimately kind things to say about him demonstrated to me what a deeply kind soul Leonard is. During this ordeal, I’ve had to encounter several different financial institutions. Leonard at Independent Bank was far nicer, more patient, and helpful than any others I have dealt with. I cannot thank Leonard and independent bank enough for all of their help during this difficult and emotional time. I am extremely grateful that I got to work with Leonard.

I only post reviews if the service is VERY good or VERY bad, other than that I usually don’t waste my time. I wanted to post this review about Independent Bank and specifically one employee; Adam Banninga, he’s the Senior Loan Officer at the Lake Michigan branch. He helped us with the purchase our first house back in 2012 (I remember it being a very smooth process) I have since recommended him to others that were looking to secure a loan and they ALL have commented on how nice it was working with him. We are now purchasing a different house and again he has gone above and beyond what you think a Loan Officer would/should do. He is very quick to answer emails & phone calls (this is HUGE); you never get the feeling he’s dodging you. He is professional, personable and very knowledgeable on the latest rates, regulations and everything else that has to do with the industry. I always get the feeling that he has MY best interest in mind and not just another account number. I will sum it up by saying; if you are in the market to buy a house you owe it to yourself to go in and meet Adam. I can honestly say from my experience he is the best at what he does and I will have no problem recommending him to others in the future.

Don't bother wasting your time with their slow service.
