Icehouse Saddle Baldy

This is demanding hike outa Icehouse canyon Mt Baldy for experienced hikers. The 3 T's trail. It was a 10 hour day logging 19.75 miles.

The first 4 miles to the icehouse saddle was not that difficult but the rest of the 2miles to the Ontario Peak was a challenge to me. I really like the little stream by the trail; refreshing and calming.

One of my favorite hikes! Ice house canyon trail up to the saddle is such a wonderful trail with a lot of shade and once you get to the saddle there's a dozen trails to choose from. Great views! From ice house canyon trail parking lot to the saddle is about 3.6 miles with about 2.5k incline.

I did a 12 mile out and back on May 9, 2021 to Cucamonga Peak. On the way up, I suggest you stop here prior to making the ascent. The area is open and you have many options of trails to take. I suggest a quick rest and water up for the rest of your climb. Enjoy your hiking.

Awesome hike I would rate the entire hike as moderate, once at the saddle there are numerous other trails you can take.

This is an excellent trail. The 3.6 miles to the Ice House Saddle from the trailhead takes you through a dramatic canyon full of rushing mountain streams and waterfalls. If you want a slightly less steep option to the saddle, try the Chapman trail, an off shoot from Ice House Canyon.

Great hike, 11.8 miles, nice and steady. Some switch backs . But it definitely has more shaded area than mt baldy.

There is still some snow on the mountain. Not too much that you should be intimated to not visit due to lack of winter gear (people are hiking it in shorts and trail shoes still), but enough snow to make you feel in another place. Great opportunity to disconnect and immerse yourself into nature!

My go-to hike. It's easy to get to from where I live, and it's a fun trail any time of the year. Sometimes I only go 1/4 of a mile and sit by the running water and enjoy the shade. If I have time, I'll do the 8.26 mile round trip up to the Saddle. This trail is ideal for beginners and it can still be a good workout for more experienced hikers.

The icehouse saddle can be reached via mt baldy village, it's a great place to stop and rest before you start your final decent to either Ontario peak or Cucamonga peak. The single-track to Icehouse Saddle climbs 2,600 feet over 3.6 miles There's no water here, but there is a shaded area where you can relax and enjoy a snack, take a breath and a couple of pictures. The view is nice. Ontario peak is 2.8 miles from the saddle and Cucamonga peak is 2.5 miles. Other trails for other hikes are also available from the saddle those are just the two most popular ones.

Great hike from Icehouse canyon trailhead. Lots of parking except on holidays. About 7 miles round trip. Hiking right along the creek and shaded areas. Super nice! Try to hike in the morning. You’ll see great marine layers and it won’t be so hot

Beautiful 😍 place for a winter hike just make sure to take some shoe spikes some areas can be very slippery in the snow specially when you're coming back down 😉

Amazing views and quite a challenge! Well worth the hike!! Make sure you're set on snacks & water! Look out for snakes, and enjoy the ladybugs, butterflies and chipmunks!

One of my favorite trails. For the newbie hikers: This trail is not easy. It is gorgeous and it is totally worth it. Although it isn't long in distance consider the elevation it isn't the same as walking up hill 3.6 miles in the city.
