Great hiking area! And kid friendly. Get there early in the morning or you will sit on the road forever waiting for a parking spot. DO NOT go on holiday weekend. Our first time going was on Memorial Day weekend and it was insanely busy, our second time going was on a Saturday in October, but we still had to wait about 45min just to get a parking spot. Once we were on the trail it was beautiful!!! When you get closer to the water fall there are a lot of stairs. It’s a fairly easy hike with some hard sections but very doable with children.

A great waterfall and fun hike! Kiddos appropriate. The trails is easy but challenging still. Towards the top it gets narrow by the waterfall. If there’s a lot of people just be careful and patient. Tons of picnic area, bathroom at the entrance very nice. Our kids had a lot of fun finding sticks, climbing rocks, playing in the water, and reading educational facts that are up in the trail. Be prepared to wait to get a parking spot. They let one car in when one car goes out. We waited for 40 mins in the car line….but it was worth it. It didn’t feel that long.

Short hiking distance about a mile. Easy in the first half mile and you have to step up. There are gorgeous view along the trip. You will hear the sounds and sights while you are hiking.

High shoal falls was an easy hike until the end but totally worth it!! Plan on getting wet if you hit the top but not to bad!! Lovely hike totally worth it!!

It's a beautiful place if the weather treats you well. The walk is well paved and is a moderate hike to the fall. A good day to spend with family and friends.

I love this place. A lot of trails and you can choose any one. Organized barbaque areas, restrooms. Perfect to spend your day there !

Beautiful hiking experience. So much to see. Waterfall is breath taking and many spots to just explore and splash around. Highly recommend. Trails for all difficulty levels. Campgrounds to grill. A lot to offer about an hour outside of Charlotte.

Intermediate to easy multiple hike trails with lots of beautiful spots on the way. Falls are beautiful. Trails are mix of stairs, rocks and normal trail paths. Lots of picnic tables n gazebo to sit, eat n relax. Great for a family day trip as less than 1.5 hrs. From Charlotte. Water was super cold but still dipped our legs. Worth a trip.

Our family loved this hike! The loop was perfect and very enjoyable. My 6 and recently turned 4 year old made it the whole hike and LOVED the scenery! It was amazing. 10/10 our new favorite hiking spot

A beautiful hike! Don’t underestimate the stairs!!!😅 Once you make it to the top of the stairs the main waterfall attraction is to your right, don’t accidentally pass it and hike all the way to the top of the mountain like me haha

Great place for a hike and really nice bathrooms. Wide paths that are easy to walk with groups. They have two waterfalls to climb to. One is way more technical and also have steep staircases to get there. Shaded under the canopy it may feel slightly cooler. About an hour and twenty minutes from Charlotte and we’ll worth it.

Beautiful trail and gorgeous waterfall. Loved that it's in a park with free entrance and free parking. Bathrooms were clean, with toilet paper and hot water, parking lot is big enough to fit 100+ cars.. Trail was so peaceful, and I didn't even see any people at the waterfall. I was just me and my camera. Can't wait to go back
