Nick is a great guy to work with. His knowledge, boldness, experience and skills in the business tailored my refinance process within 7.8 weeks. Zero hassle and top notch in the business. I would certainly recommend him to anyone at anytime. My recommendation to Nick: We live in a digital age, so it will be nice to have at least one web meeting with your clients who live outside of Arizona to see the person they are working with. Overall, he's excellent.

Ana Serra is in my opinion the most valuable asset Handshake Homeloans has. She is absolutely electric and knows everything she needs to know in order to explain it in an easier form! Handshake Home Loans is amazing! Thanks to their knowledgeable loan officer, Jacqueline Drenth, I was locked in at the lowest rate of the day, eliminated the first time home buyer fee, and closed in less than 30 days. This saved me $300/month. Normally, these types of transactions are incredibly stressful and there seems to always be a last minute fire drill due to a ball dropped or communication breakdown. I experienced none of that. I sincerely have never been happier with a home loan company in my many years of buying and refinancing homes. Jacqueline then turned around as soon as mine was closed and did hte same thing for my daughter on her mortgage of which I am a co-signer for. Communication was consistent throughout the process. I tired to refinance my home by submitting all required documents. my loan application was in conditional approval status but they denied it after 29 days waiting to get loan process move forward my loan officer told me that my loan was denied due to 1 of FHA requirements but they should knew FHA requirements before have me start turn in application and waiting since 4/4/2022 .in addition they didn’t send me in written denial letter along with some guidelines how to resolve the issues and resubmitted again

Worst experience I’ve ever had, I can’t say who was working my loan because when I put his name they call me asking me and begging me to take his name off the google review, but anyway he lied over and over multiple times, everytime he would tell me the loan was going to close at the end of the week some other stipulation would pop up, rate lock was a joke, every time something popped up my rate would go up from what it was previously locked in at. The communication is horrible, they expect you to read their mind when it comes to knowing what’s the next step. I feel they lied initially to get me to start the process and pretty much miss a real opportunity for another company to help refinance me. They spent over 3 months trying to close my loan to no avail. If it was possible to put a 0 star rating on here I would, worst experience I’ve ever had by far!! If you read these reviews trust and believe this is not a good company and the people here only care about quantity of loans they don’t care about anything else. They will say whatever they think you want to hear at the moment to get you to stay.

I dont usually leave reviews but I shocked at all the positive reviews. Maybe it was just the loan officer we worked with but never again. This process took more than 3 months for an easy refinance. Nothing had to be done like an appraisal or anything. We should have no closing costs just sign the paper work again. In December our loan officer completely fell off the face of the earth and we couldn't get in contact with him or anyone. At the end of the month we found out he had COVID. I understand life happens but someone should have followed up with us. We were set to close at the end of December, so we were told to not make Decembers mortgage payment. Well we didn't close and now we had to pay a late fee (we were told they would reimburse us for and they haven't). All of January it was very hard to get in contact with our loan officer he apparently had 2 deaths in the family and had to put a pet down. Again, I get it life happens but if you can't handle your work load have someone else call us back! We finally signed our papers last night but yesterday at 2pm I get a call from our loan officer "oh by the way you have come to the table with $984". Umm excuse me the whole time we were told we wouldn't have to come out of pocket for anything and 5 hours before we close we have to come up with almost $1000!!! I am beyond frustrated with this place and will never use them again but at least I am done with it and don't have to deal with them anymore.

Service was great up to the point where my file went to underwriting. Even though I was told that they were just waiting on a document from Insurance they stopped returning my calls and ignored my request to send me a copy of the loan disclosure. Our sales agent avoided our calls and always said he will call me back as soon as he is out of his meetings, and never returned my calls. Would not recommend this company at all.

Worked with Maurice Jackson and this was the easiest and quickest process I’ve ever been through. Maurice made everything very easy and we were able to close in 22 days! I will continue to give him my business and hopefully do more loans through handshake home loans.

After attempting to refinance and being told I'd have to come out of pocket I stopped looking. I had a conversation with a good friend of mine who recommended William John Schneider "Billy". Jon Was absolutely a pleasure to work with. This was the only company that was actually able to work with me and my fiancé due to Covid messing up our credit score. Overall it was a really great experience it did take a little bit longer but we were able to get approved and closed and Jon kept us informed every step of the way. When I first called Handshake Homeloans it was on a Saturday. I left a message inquiring about a possible refinance. I received a call back from Logan Mikesell on a Sunday afternoon. DO NOT WORK WITH DENNIS GAGNON. I spent more than 2 frustrating months “working” with Dennis Gagnon to refinance my home (22NOV21-28JAN22). When we got started in November, he told me “You’ll have the money by Christmas.” The money came 28JAN22. I messaged Dennis December 2nd and didn’t receive a response until January 6th. Dennis sent me to the closing table with incorrect paperwork twice, and another time the paperwork wasn’t even there! I was finally able to close on my 4th visit. As I got more frustrated, Dennis got more and more unresponsive. He danced around questions that I asked him about loan docs amounts and charges. Eventually he just stopped answering my questions altogether. If I could have gone with another company, I would have. However, rates went up from Nov-Jan. The complete lack of professionalism and attention to detail made this experience a horror story of refinancing. I have heard good things about Handshake Homeloans, but avoid Dennis Gagnon if you can! Minus 1 star for each time I had to go to the closing table.

Dillion was AMAZING! Helpful, knowledgeable and patient. Both my sister and dad used Dillion and he came highly recommended and I would def recommend as well! Im self employed and my financial docs are a bit out of the ordinary and he was able to help and make the process so much more easier! Started the process with William AKA Billy on August 31st. Here we are late January and needless to say there is still no refi and I had to tell Billy to stop the process and we would go elsewhere. Billy talks a good game and was very communicative in the beginning but as soon as there is a little bump in the road the communication slows way down all the way to the point where I was reaching out to Billy for an update and every time he said something like this will be a quick turnaround or a rush was put on this it seemed to be even slower. My credit was run numerous times and now I am having to look for another lender for a refi. Obviously, I can't type 5 months' worth of the back and forth with Billy and Handshake I just want to put it out there that the experience has been painful only to still not get the refi and now I am going to have to start the process all over with a different company. I bought my house quicker than the whole refi process. Do your research and look elsewhere.

Better than 5 stars. We received a 1.99 percent interest rate. Unbelievable! I had tried working with a different company and Laramie was able to beat the interest rate and the closing fees. I was so impressed I told friends about him. My friend Lisa is already closing in the next week. We closed in 30 days, the other guy had told me 75 days to close. Worked with "Tyrone Renard Williams II" on refinancing my home mortgage. I tried it before with others but it was difficult, since I have two loans on my property. Tyrone helped me to refinance my mortgage and to unify the two loans in one loan with a good low interest (I got some offeres from other lenders, but this was the best). The whole process went smoothly and done in a very short time. Thank you Tyrone!

We are in the process of refinancing and received a phone call from Jeffrey Logan Arrendondo asking us to entertain his offer after our broker pulled our credit. We were already satisfied with the company we were using but Jeffrey Logan was relentless and promised that he could get us a better rate. He called me 3x throughout the day. I shared with him that I would call him once my husband was home because I could not make any decisions without him. He tried to convince me to just let him run my husband and my credit without my husband's consent but I would not budge. This should have been my initial cue that he was not the type of person we wanted to work with. Nevertheless, I decided that we was just being a salesman. He called again once my husband was home and we agreed to let him run our credit. Jeffrey Logan Arredondo offered us a significantly lower rate than what our current broker was offering. We asked how he was able to get such a low rate when rates are currently averaging higher than that. Jeffrey stated that as a broker who works directly with freedom mortgage he is able to offer lower rates. He sent us over the loan estimate along with the other mortgage paperwork to sign. After reviewing the loan estimate, we realized that Jeffrey Logan was able to offer us a lower rate because we would be purchasing mortgage points which allows you to buy down the rate. We understand that this is a common practice used in the mortgage industry but felt it was dishonest of Jeffrey to not disclose this to us. He then called me twice today to see if we signed the paperwork. He texted me and I politely responded letting him know we would not be moving forward due to the lack of transparency on his end. He then rudely responded to me saying that it's my own fault and insulted my intelligence stating that everyone knows that mortgage points are used. He ended the text conversation by telling me that he "could care less." I wanted to share my experience because I am so glad that we did not work with this company who has a loan officer who does not care about their clients. A mortgage is the biggest purchase a lot of people will ever make so a lender should be upfront about all costs associated and care about their client's best interest. As Logan shared, he is not that person.

Not only was she knowledgeable and professional but she took time to get to know us and make sure we felt comfortable and informed throughout the process. Not just hand shake but I must add “Hands down” the best loan officer and Refi mortgage we have ever done, and being almost sixty with many home refinancings under our belts, that says it all. Nick Sclafani was our loan officer, and I will tell you that he came through above and beyond what he said he could help us with. I wanted for the past 10 years to have a conventional loan and get rid of our FHA mortgage Insurance. The last 4 times we refinanced we were told this could happen but always to be let down for one reason or another. Not this time! Nick got the conventional loan for us, which saved us $350 a month in MIP’s (which now goes to our mortgage instead and pays into our mortgage $4000 more a year)!! Wow! Is that not incredibly!!! Yes it is incredible! Plus our Mortgage payment is almost $200 a month less, and we saved two months in mortgage payments. Nick also was there for every question I had and mostly answered the calls himself, but always within the hour he would get back to me. Who else can say that about their loan officer?? Not many, I know because I had many in the past that would take days or not answer at all. My husband kept expecting a “fire drill” while at work for some new information that they might need at the last second, because we always had to do this in the past, but not with Nick. No, not one fire drill or inconvenient surprise that we had to deal with in a hurry, not one!! The easiest and most comfortable Refi we have ever done (over at least 12 Refi’s and 8 new mortgages in our life span). This was the smoothest, easiest, honest, most reliable and exciting Refi ever hands down!! I actually enjoyed the process instead of dragging my feet. Handshake home loans does seem like they are able to get you a good loan. I was originally quoted, by a lady I believe, at a lower loan price then what loan officer had when disclosures came out, and that did not sit well with me. I personally don’t like when I am told one price and it goes up, especially when dealing with thousands of dollars. We ended up going with NFM lending who was much more transparent and communicative.m and closed within 30 days. Definitely reach out to them in your lender search
