To Whom it May Concern: I, as do many homeowners, receive many funding requests from different loan companies, so when I received an email stating that Griffin Funding could provide me with a VA loan with an excellent rate, and, fast processing, I thought, "Why not see what they can do". I'm glad I tried! At the time, I had my current home in escrow and was going to use the sale proceeds to finance a new home purchase. Griffin Funding did a great job of helping me refinance my existing VA loan. From the beginning, they delivered great service and competitive rates. While much of the process was online, they were always available via phone to answer any questions and consistently followed through on their commitments. I didn't even have to leave home for the closing! I would highly recommend Griffin Funding!

Working with Sarah and Shayda was a pleasure from the get-go - even on the other side of the country! They were quick to answer all of our questions and gave me plenty of information walking us through our refi. From start to payout was only about 4 weeks. Their fees were on par or better than the other lenders I spoke with and they ended up matching the lowest rate we were offered. I would gladly work with them again if the need arises.

Searched for one of the top bank statement lenders and Griffin came up. This was a no cash out, refi at 40% LTV, 4 year old loan with cash flow 4X loan current loan payment. Would seem like a slam dunk. Speaking with Guy the salesperson, I asked a very clear question after their initial review of the application. Are you selling these loans or are you the direct lender. He said, "we do sell loans but this loan we will keep in-house". Turns out just a sales pitch. We applied on 11/22/2021. As you can see by the date it is now May almost 6 months later. They immediately started the underwriting with their "investor", i.e. Griffin was brokering the loan. Griffin would submit the requested documents and then we would wait 2 maybe 3 weeks and then there would be more requests for documents. I was always very fast replying. One time they came back and said we had to have a reinspection to ensure we had CO2 smoke detectors? Really? Almost six months later both my Griffin Processor Contact and Guy stopped replying to my calls and emails. Finally, I got a random person to pick up the phone and look at my file and tell me we had been turned down by the investor. A week later we got a letter from Griffin stating we had withdrawn our application. What game is this? We have now missed the interest rate dip, paid money for appraisals, letters from accountants, etc. This was a horrible experience from one of the top rated lenders for this type of loan. Can not recommend.

Terra Kratz and Jared Stair did an outstanding job with my refi. From initial contact through documentation, disclosure reviews, notary signing, and funding this team performed. Roughly 30 days from start to finish they made my VA refi with cash out easy to follow and understand. They were able to accommodate a change I requested without missing a beat. IF YOU ARE AN INVESTOR, RUN AWAY . I am a investor looking for a re-fi on a 4 plex. I was going to do some renovations on the building along with a new roof. I paid way too much for the appraisal they ordered and it actually came in at 100k over what we needed. Well these clown’s couldn’t wrap their brains around that and rejected the loan because it needed a roof. I had a estimate in hand for 18k for the roof. Now I have a useless 1250.00 appraisal and a lot of wasted time. (Don’t worry , I have some more complaining to do ,some official, some unofficial) . They in no way (in my opinion) should have a broker’s license. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else besides here. After seeing the incredibly rude response from this company I wanted to say something else. The thing that made me the most upset was that in the beginning they said that there was nothing that would derail this. It would be just fine. Once one little hiccup came up and they basically threw out the baby with the bathwater. Could they have made it work? Absolutely they could. They just chose not to because it would add to the difficulty. So instead they left me flopping around like a fish. Let me ask you this, what would you think if you had sold your house and had all your stuff in a moving truck ready to go then out of nowhere this so-called company decided that they weren’t going to fund it any longer. And pull the rug out from underneath you. Leaving you completely stranded and homeless. Also out a lot of money. Well that’s how I feel. Let’s face it the house is not worth zero because it needs a roof. I told them to just write the check to the roofer. But no that would be difficult. And you just tell me I need a hard money lender, they should’ve told me that in the beginning before I wasted $1250 on an appraisal. And a bunch of emails and a bunch of drama and a bunch of my time. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

These people won't stop calling me. They have harassed me for the last month. It started when I applied for a mortgage through lending tree and somehow these people got my number and have called me multiple times a day, every day since, even after I've already closed on my house. They call me and when I answer they hang up or do not say anything. Or they'll leave me voicemails and they usually don't even say anything on the message. I've asked repeatedly to be put on the do not call list and even reached out to someone through LinkedIn. Leave me alone! I'd report you to the BBB, but you're not even members! Pathetic! Stay away from these people!

Griffin funding just helped us refinance our home mortgage and were outstanding to work with! The team we worked with was great at communicating throughout the entire process - quickly ran us through a few options to figure out the right combination of loan options for us. Our loan manager Megan was awesome - and did an excellent job leading us through the process. Their website is a little outdated, but does the job - and the closing process was on-time and flawless -- our Notary showed up at the house, we signed our final docs and were done. +1 would definitely recommend Griffin.

Do not trust griffin funding!!!! My husband and I choose this lender because of the great reviews we came across. Unfortunately I lost over $5k in Escrow, appraisal and inspection money because of their incompetence in lending requirements! When we started the process I was given full approval and was even able to increase the amount I was approved for. We reached 7 days before closing on a home and I was not approved because I did not have enough experience in my current employment. Keep in mind they knew from the first day we applied how long I’ve been employed for! I was upfront about everything and to find out that was the reason we didn’t get approved I was beyond disappointed. We not only wasted $5k we wasted our time and effort in searching for a home getting everything submitted just for something that could have easily been avoided if I was told from the beginning! When seeking answers to why this happened all I was told by my loan officer and his manager was sorry, and had no explanation.

Just wow! When we were let down by our original lender I spoke to Ben at Griffin Funding, I did not think at the time he would be able to get the deal done. I threw a million questions at him and he answered them all! He told me it was possible to get the deal done, and I was skeptical due to my past experience with another lender. We then got introduced to Terra she was our processor and she was absolutely amazing, she has such a positive attitude and great energy she was always at the other end of the phone. I would call her multiple times a day with questions and she made me feel like she was only working on my case (which I know was not the case)and always took the time to answer me. We closed on our dream home because of Ben and Terra and I owe them a massive thank you. I cannot wait to work with them in the future and I will be recommending them to anybody looking for a lender that can actually deliver on their promise.

I have done a lot of dumb thing since being discharged from active duty, first was not getting a VA loan, second was not applying for service related compensation, which was 48 years worth. A lot of money. Finally a smart thing was to use Griffin to finally refinance our third home. The team did a great job, but it's a mountain of paperwork for sure. Completed the process today, obtained a great rate, especially since they are climbing up again and we'll start enjoying the benefits of almost immediately. As an aside, I am a member of Wells Fargo Private Bank and they were useless when I previously started to look into the refi.

Scott Van Vugt and his team did an incredible job. They were friendly, communicative and managed expectations well. Working with a lender who gets to know your personal situation and takes you through an actual planning process was key. The San Diego market is incredibly competitive, and Scott took the initiative along with our realtor to advocate on our behalf to the seller’s agent. Griffin was very professional and interested in what I wanted in my re-finance. Ben Nelson (my loan officer) asked all the key questions necessary to start my re-financing He suggested the VA loan that I would be qualified for and the lowest rate available. His direct report (Guy Troxler) reviewed & approved everything. I was able to get a 2.0% 30 year fixed loan! I was then assigned to an Account Manager named Dani Kammann to process all the paperwork. She was a true professional and very competent. She helped me every step of the way. She was fast at getting back to me and answering all my questions.
