I got my auto loan from GPFCU and I had a great experience working with them. They patiently answered all my questions and took care of all the paperwork very promptly. I would highly recommend their services.

I was a member of this credit union for almost a year and 1st opened a savings account. They talked me into later opening a checking account saying it would be better option to pay bills and manage my money. What I couldn’t understand is why both accounts had the same account numbers. They assured me it was fine and they work it out internally. So what happens, I paid a bill online and I guess it defaults to checking when it was intended to pull from Savings. The credit union returned the payment as insufficient and charged me $30. I called to inquire and they said even though they can physically see both accounts and can see sufficient funds sitting in my savings account they returned it because merchant labeled as checking. They are ridiculous. So much for them working out there genious configuration of sharing account numbers “internally”. It cost me $30 and a smear on my name with merchant. Run from this place.

They finally got their mobile app together, and it's an okay bank [or CU] with very minimal locales. Don't see any ways to transfer money within the app to other bank accounts except for mobile check deposit. Tried to get refund on my first overdraft, and they declined saying the bank isn't at fault. Every other credit union or bank has always done this at least once, and these guys couldn't even during a pandemic. They charge for every service, including getting a checkbook, atm withdrawals, and even overdraft protection, so... Same old same old. Not switching banks yet.

    Response from the owner

We apologize that you had an unpleasant experience. Let us try to assist you with some things mentioned in your review. While it’s true that at present we do not have the capability within the mobile app to transfer to external financial institutions, if members are transferring to a larger bank, it’s possible that bank will have the capability to setup such a transfer. We also have a free bill pay service available through our mobile app or online home banking that can be used to transfer funds between financial institutions, pay other people, or to pay bills. As for fees, checks ordered through the credit union come from a third-party company and that company sets the price. Members are always welcome to get their routing and account numbers to order from a vendor of their choosing if they would like to shop around. Members can also use the free bill payment service mentioned earlier to pay any person or company instead of using personal checks. ATM withdrawals are free IF a member uses any PNC, GetGo, or Sheetz ATM. Any ATM’s outside of those options could potentially incur whatever charge that particular ATM has; we do not charge ATM fees on our end. Overdraft protection is a standard charge across most financial institutions. There are a few options that are available within our credit union that would be too lengthy to explain here, but can always be explained if a member would like to call to discuss it further. We apologize if you think our locations are minimal or inconvenient, but as we are an employer-based credit union our locations are strategically located in or near some of our largest employer groups. We currently have 6 branch locations for our members to utilize.

Horrible experience. Loan was paid off 6 weeks ago and they continue to garnish my wages. No one will respond to my numerous follow ups and I'm beyond frustrated. I'll never deal with this bank again!
