From day one, working with them has felt like working with long-time friends. Last but not least, they put me in contact with an excellent realtor in the area and were able to get me what I was looking for in no time at all. Purchased a home with GW Loans recently and had a really positive experience with Matt Smeyers and his team. As a first time home buyer, they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable in many of the intricacies of these transaction and were there at every step to handle any questions I had. They also helped negotiate a great closing window with pushy sellers who were trying to close after a ridiculous turnaround time. With the teams help we were able to push out the closing window early on and close on time. Really amazing work and I am thankful for the teams help!

My experience started out with Regis who was great and highly recommended if you are going to choose GW home loans. Although other than his great service, my experience was horrible. I was a California buyer looking to buy in Texas. I started working with GW in late July. I set out to move to Texas to buy a house so I had to transfer my job and leave everything behind in California under the impression that GW would close my house deal on the date that I moved out here. That did not happen. They did not set the right expectations, they made me feel like I was the reason my file was not closing and the seller of the house was getting antsy and I almost lost the home. I became homeless living out of my car for 3 weeks. When I tried to explain my situation to Sheldon on their team I will admit that I spoke to him in an ugly manner but who wouldn’t after being homeless in a state you don’t know with no family and friends. Well he did not seem to care about the situation and it seemed as if his ego was attacked so he made me feel as his company did not care at all. At that point I went straight looking for another lender who managed to pull a miracle and closed my file within five days. GW seems unorganized inexperienced and a couple of their guys who feed off of ego which unfortunately costs them business. If you don’t believe my experience I recommend you to go look at other reviews with my same experience. Don’t recommend this place for out of state buyers. Again Regis was the only one who seemed to care about my situation and that is highly appreciated by me.

My loan officer Abhi Bhatt was nothing short of excellent throughout the refinancing process. He walked me through all the of various options to see the best fit for me and provided updates regularly. At the end of the process he even reminded me to contact my old mortgage company to make sure they don't apply my old escrow funds to next year's taxes. I highly recommend using Abhi and GWHL for all your mortgage needs!

Alex dealt with our mortgage application with efficiency & dedication. His knowledge is vast and his customer service excellent. This is the second time we have used Great Westerns' services and Alex - we would recommend working with Alex. Unfortunately Belinda was not quite as customer focused but overall I believe Great Western deserve the 5* rating.

Kathy and the Great Western team were so great! We had less than 30 days to close when I first contacted them. They were able to meet all timelines and get us in our dream home. Kathy and team communicated so well throughout the process and were always on top of any situation we had come up. We live in Houston and everything was done virtually, no problems. Definitely recommend them to anyone!

While purchasing my home, I worked with Kathy Glidewell. She was beyond amazing and will move mountains if you simply ask. She works diligently and efficiently but above all her communication was truly phenomenal. We can't say enough nice things about Kathy Glidewell and her team (Blair, Ana, Colton, and everyone)! From the beginning, Kathy made herself accessible and approachable in our process of buying our first home. I texted and called randomly on the weekends, and she'd answer! No question went unanswered and she was extremely diligent, courteous, and friendly. The home buying process was a breeze thanks to her. We can't recommend her enough! When you're looking for a lender, you want someone who will treat you like family; that's Kathy and Great Western. Go with them for all your needs!

I don’t even know where to begin if I could give negative starts I would. Jesse and his team were horrible to work. First Jesse called me twice a month before I started the application the moment I started everything he completed ditched me. He had multiple people working my file I got no updates they waited the day of closing to ask for necessary documents causing me to lose my house then blamed it on my irs debt when they didn’t have an appraisal back nor did they have my transcripts to complete the deal. Then because I no longer chose to continue working with them they flagged my file in fha with inaccurate information causing me to now have issues proceeding with a new lender. Their fees are way too high I got approved for more from two different lenders and fees not nearly as high. I truly believe they did not have my best interest and did me a disservice. I would never recommend anyone to them. They even had one of their processors be so rude to me that I was in tears. Run the opposite direction from this lender. I regret ever working with this company I called him multiple times no answer then was told he’s on vacation just left my file with incompetent individuals.

Jesse was able to get it done when others couldn’t , on time! Spent the time to figure out how he could put us in the best possible situation moving forward, and executed it flawlessly. His team is great , and they made it a stress free process. Couldn’t imagine anyone else would’ve made it as simple as Jesse did!

If you are on Zillow they will automatically send you an email to these people.. asked for all these documents and never call you back don’t waste your time go to Rocket mortgage instead.. the gentleman I was working with seemed like he hated his job
