    Grayland Beach State Park Reviews

Grayland Beach SP is a very popular camping spot. We snagged one spot in a pod near the beach. The sites are generous size. It's about a two-block walk to the enormous beach. You also can drive there just outside the park. Staff were great. A nice little store. Book early!

Beautiful, soft sand beach off the beaten path. Close to ocean shores but far enough that it’s not as disturbed. Tons of unbroken sand dollars, we camped one night and had the beach to ourselves basically. Look up and you can see the Milky Way and so many stars ✨

I really enjoyed my stay at Grayland Beach State Park. I rented a yurt to stay in for two nights and it was well worth it. The yurt was clean and tidy. Electric outlet and a small heater in the space make it comphy and cozy. Restroom was less than a minutes walk. Picnic table and fire pit out front. Ten minutes walk to the beach for clam digging. Limited out on nice big razor clams in about :15 minutes. I'll be back!

The check-in staff are very personable and friendly. The camp sites are clean and close to the beach. Fire pit, picnic table (large) electrical hook ups and water. We were at sites 60-100. They all seem very nice. The yurts are cool to. We will be back.

We enjoy checking out the National State Parks all around. It’s peaceful, beautiful and while I was here seemed quiet. They have different camp sites to choose from and different beach accesses to pick a trail. Beautiful colorful wild flowers to enjoy. My dog and I really enjoyed the trail and seemed easy to find our way back. The sounds of the wildlife and the ocean were pleasing to see and hear. I saw so many dragonflies while on the trail to the beach. They were beside me and above me. I recommend this National State Park to come and camp with your family and friends. A lot of the spots had fire pits but there is a burn ban right now so fires of any kind are prohibited. No bbq or camp fires at nighttime. Hope you all enjoy your stay here.

Whether enjoying a short walk from lodging to the sand or loading up the truck to enjoy a bonfire evening with the tide rolling out, Grayland Beach State Park is one of the most serene, beautiful & welcoming places to visit along the WA coast. 100% puppy approved, too!

Great campground -- one of our favorites. The wagon wheel layout and trees add to a sense of privacy with most of the campsites. Sites have electric and water. Dump station is on the way out. Staff is friendly and keeps the park well maintained. The yurts have space for an RV with electric & water. It's a decent walk to the beach and the paths can get a bit boggy in the spring after rains. The whole campground and beach is flat (no bluffs this far south). It's a typical Washington wide open beach with gray sand. Vehicles are allowed to drive on the beach. Small grocery store nearby for any necessities you may have forgotten.

This park is located well off Hwy 101 on Hwy 105, but it is easy to find and located near a massive ocean beach. Driving is allowed on this beach, so you must be aware of traffic. The beach has a lot of packed sand, so it is great for walking and kite flying. Trail-heads back to the campgrounds are well marked but it is a long walk from camping to surf. We drove our motorhome to this beach and park there for the day to enjoy the view and kites. The campground is laid out in circles with properly angled spaces that are very easy to back into. Nearly every site has power & water, plus utility sites with sewer. You must buy tokens at the ranger station for the showers, so buy some on your way in, but not too many as there are no refunds for unused tokens. We use our own shower instead. The park is clean and well maintained with good trails. We did not see a playground or any interpretive programs.

Beautiful area! There's a full service campground just off the beach (you can walk into beach from campground). Campground review down below. The Beach: This is a hidden 💎. The beach is beyond beautiful and those that come here seem to remove their trash with them. It's very sandy and windy. Perfect area to fly kites or simply soak in some sun on the beach. There is miles of coastline where you can drive and get your own spot to watch the sunset or simply take the kids to build sandcastles. There's plenty of access points where you can simply drive into the beach with your car or truck. Some access points are a little softer than others so if your not in a 4x4 take caution. Though I've personally never had to use 4x4 personally with my truck. The campground: This is one of my families favorite spots. The campground has full service spots for RVs. (Power, water,& sewer). There are loops with private campgrounds spots. (Trees and bushes help seclude each spot). Not every spot is the same seclusion but many sites off it. The campground is well maintained and staffed. Highly recommend booking your next camping experience here. Don't forget you'll need a discover pass if your just visiting the beach. If your camping overnight your camping pass should suffice for visiting the beach.

We really enjoyed a last minute couple of nights in a yurt. I was surprised how quiet the park was, but it was midweek in early May. The yurt was surprisingly spacious even with the futon down and one kid on an air mattress on the floor. We probably would have had room for our queen airbed from Costco in between the futon and bunk bed, but the futon was comfortable enough that we didn't need it. Really fun, wish we could've stayed longer. Some rain, but the yurt was so comfy we didn't mind.

This was our first trip with our travel trailer, Memorial day weekend. Nice camp grounds and close to the the beach by either a short walk over the wooded hill or a short drive. It was raining when we got there and our site (65) was partially flooded, primarily in the fire pit. The next day, however, the fire pit was dry and we could have a fire. If buying firewood around the area DO NOT got to the place that is closest to the camp ground, they had green wood that wouldn't burn. Next time I will check the wood before buying it, I just assumed it would be good.

I have been camping here since I was a kid and it's great. I prefer the spots near the beach, but they can be really windy. The spots closer to the entrance have mature trees and they are much less windy. The beach trails can be damp at certain times of the year, so bring some mud boots.

Clean campground with hookups for your RV which makes it 4 stars. I thought based on the map that my site was close to the beach but it is a bit of a walk across the marsh to get there. Normally not a big deal but very marshy after the recent rains. Now the things have dried out I assume it is better.

Loved the cool breeze, the cool water, the mist from the evaporating water looked so cool (looked like people in the distance were playing in the clouds), the soft sand, even liked the less aggressive sea gulls. Much better than Jacksonville Florida's beaches imo.

Beautiful state park with nicely-spread-out campsites and numerous beach access points. Note that the beach trails might be flooded if you're there in the winter/spring, in which case you have to leave the park to the beach that you can drive on.

We stayed in a yurt for the first time which was great because they have heaters and it gets cold at night. Beach goes on forever. It's windy and cool though so dress warmly. Be sure to watch the sunset.

I sure enjoyed my time here. The bathrooms are very clean and plenty of room for a disabled person to use. You can drive right down onto the beach or walk. The surf is very powerful and there is plenty of seagulls to enjoy. A fun day.

Most of the campsites are roomy, with relatively decent amounts of privacy. Bathrooms could use a bit of an update, but the facilities satisfied our needs. The camp hosts were very friendly and attentive, and the ranger was great to work with. The individual campsite loops would be great for groups who reserve several sites together, and provide good space for kids to play or ride bikes. The campground is only a few minutes drive to Westport, and close to several beaches/parks. If going in winter months, beware numerous sites are prone to flooding! Our reserved site was under water after several days of rain, but fortunately we were able to find a new site, and were not charged extra despite it being a more expensive site. Because of the rain, the trails to the beach were partially flooded as well. Rain boots are a good winter addition. Good sites along the beach loops include: 103-106 (especially if reserved together), 107+108, 100, 97, 94+95, 91, 87, 77, 72, 68+69, 66+67, 64+65, and 61+62. Photos below (mid-March) are to show the extent of water in some of the sites; none of the flooded sites are in my list above. Despite a few issues, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back again.

Awesome beach, I love that there's not as many people at this one! If you're gonna drive on to the beach I recommend going down the road next to the cranberry museum road then take a left to get to the state park, cause that actual road that leads to the park is pretty rough and you'll want 4wd/AWD to get down that one.

We stayed in a yurt. LOved it! Was heated. Nice walk to the beach. We came in late the guy was closing but was so nice to stay and help us and answer all ite questions. Even ask is we wanted to go look at then first. Rest rooms we're clean. You have yo have a token to take shower for 3 minutes. You can get then up front ofc.

The park itself is wonderful and the highlight is the beach. Enormous, clean and unspoilt, it was a breath of fresh air literally. If you have never been here, be aware that the noise of the ocean at night is amazingly loud. There is little to nothing to do in the surrounding area save for gift shops hawking stuff you were never looking for. I would recommend this those looking for peace, quiet and solitude with enforced inaction.

A very beautiful State park. With close beach access, Open year round, They have 16 yurts with 10 of them being ADA. And 55 full hook-up sites 60' MAX & 38 partial sites. The bathroom and shower buildings are with ADA amenities. Located in Greyland WA about 12 miles S of Westport or 4.8 miles from Highway 105 turnoff to Aberdeen.

We have stayed at this park every year for the past six years. Always a good experience. Most of the campsites have good privacy. The grounds are well maintained as is the trail to the beach. Some people need to understand that the whole campground doesn't need to hear you talk, your kids' screaming, or congratulate yourself on your cornhole victory. The park is great, it is some of the rude people staying there that ruin it.

I mean, it's the beach! That in itself is enough. However, I do love that you can drive on the beach and this day we were able to drive south almost all the way to Tokeland! It was a beautiful day with the sun shining and the waves glistening as they gently crashed to the shore. Perfect day to relax, unwind and forget your cares while you walk along the beach with the one you love. Bliss.

Found this gem during a random Google search and our first stay was in Oct. 2020. Back again Oct. 2021. The sites are over sized with plenty of brush for decent privacy. Very quiet aside from overhearing a neighbor from time to time. Seems like most people are gone during the day time hours. - A guest at Site 45

Grayland State Park is a beautiful campground. We aren't people who need things to do when we camp. We have the beach, that suits us just fine. The camp spots are large and private. It is clean, facility's are clean and kept up, and safe. The Rangers are very helpful and friendly. We have been here many times and it is always wonderful. Enjoy. 😉

Great place for kiting and sand driving (You better have an AWD for the latter. While sand is nicely compacted on the beach, one may stuck when entering/leaving the beach). Note that summer temperature is always 10-20 degrees cooler than few miles away. It was 68F yesterday, nice and breeze, with 90F in Aberdeen. When it's sunny and 75F in Aberdeen, it can easily be 55F and rainy on the coast.

Great place for a quiet rest! Lots of trails great for walking with the dog. We haven't been there in the late summer and fall, but be prepared to walk through water several inches deep to get to open ocean from the campground. Also several sites are a little on the the muddy side. You're in cranberry bog country after all!!!

Very nice campground. The restrooms are very clean. The beach is one of the best for digging razor clams. The only downside is that when it has rained some of the camping spots are under water. The picnic table and fire pit had puddles around them making them unusable. But we were there for the clams so it didn't matter.

This is a great State park, we look forward to coming back in the summer months. We camped in one of the many great yurts over the New Year's holiday, and fully enjoyed getting away from the house, even tho it rained most of the time. The yurt was clean and dry, they even had the heater on when we arrived! The beds are comfortable enough, and our 7 year old loved sleeping on the big top bunkbed. And the bathrooms were well maintained during our 3 night stay. One warning to mention, being there during the rainy season, we noticed quite a few campsites were completely flooded. There were 2 large ponds in our site, but luckily they were off to the sides. Just something you might want to call to check on before you go, if it's been rainy (or is predicted to be rainy while you're there.)

Beautiful park. Facilities and sites were clean. Camp hosts pleasant and friendly. No view of the beach from the camp sites, but easy walk to it. I considered that a bonus since the view was blocked by the burms blocking the majority of the wind. Made it easier to use the awnings on the RV. Would definitely stay there again!

We brought our trailer for a mid March trip. The weather was pretty cold, but it only rained for 1 of our days. The other days were sunny, but it was still fairly uncomfortable at the beach due to wind chill. It is a beautiful park even without the beach, though, and the ocean sound is nice. The bathrooms and showers are private. Also, the yurts looks very comfortable and popular.

Love this park! Awesome facilities, especially in the camp sites closer to the beach. They have warm showers, clean bathrooms, and fun loops that are super safe for kids on bikes. It’s about a 5-10 minute walk to the beach depending on the campsite.

Thoroughly enjoyed or stay. Great weather for late October. Campground host was rude to our son in law who came to visit Saturday. He poked him on the shoulder repeatedly because of where he parked. Only downer of our stay.

Checking in to our campsite, we were assured that this was our new favorite beach. It absolutely is- the beach is vast and beautiful. The campsite was almost completely full but you would never guess there were more than a few people anywhere nearby. We stayed in a yurt, and it was amazing. A few mosquitoes haunted the corners of the bathroom but bugs weren't much of an issue. Shower tokens are usually a bummer, but the time from one token is perfectly adequate. There was water pressure! A campground miracle! UPDATE: Back a year later, absolutely thrilled! Saw a few millipedes in the bathroom and laughed it off "remember that bad review we read," we chuckled, "about how there were too many millipedes?" and we settled in for the night. Then a hornet woke us up, and the lights went on. Millipedes. Everywhere. Crawling up the walls, across the floor, on the door frame. Sleep, out of the question. At least the relaxing sound of the ocean is right there to calm frazzled nerves.

Beautiful WA state beach but Rip Tides so Caution with Children. Clear warm water on summer days. If you walk along the beach until you see the water coming straight in and straight out, then you're in a good spot. Not to scare, but if you have young children, there are a few areas where there are rip tides, created by hidden sandbars with 10' deep ditches around them. When the tide is out you can visually see the sandbars and ditches around them. When the tide is in, you cannot see the sandbars or ditches but can see the water being pulled sideways, and the pull is stronger than it looks. If waves come in or recede at an angle, instead of straight in and straight back, that is a riptide current around a sandbar. Just visually inspecting, steering clear of the sandbar area, while educating your kiddos, where you wade before you wade is all that's needed to enjoy the beach.

Great state park for RV camping. The sites are very large, clean and level. We had a lot of privacy. Multiple trails to the beach. We like to ride our bikes around parks and there are plenty of safe roads in the park to ride. We had electric and water service, no septic.
