I was informed a week and a half ago that I will not be having coverage through this company anymore after June 27th. I was never delinquent on any bills nor did I ever have any claims. They said that I had a kennel business even though I just have dogs. I am not a breeder, and I do not have vicious dogs. This was all conveyed to the underwriter and they continued to decide to drop my coverage. So if you have any pets, especially dogs, this may not be the right insurance for you.

We had a water leak and Goodville had things sorted out and resolved within a week. I thought the process was fair and professional. They explained the benefits and usually give you a check the same day they come on-site with a detailed receipt.

We went thru what seemed like our worst nightmare with our chimney recently. Goodville Mutual was quick to respond, and had a check to us in less than a week. We even had to come back with a second proposal since the damage was so extensive, and Goodville had a check to us in just a couple days. It's finally complete and looks fantastic and we are so grateful for Goodville Mutual's prompt and caring service to us.

I have been dealing with them for over a year now, snow came in my attic and a pipe broke pooring water all in my room. All the carpet in my house had to be tore out and not counting the water stains on my ceiling or the insulation that had to be takin out.. they asked for a receipt on the pipe break because they said pipes don’t break during a storm.. (Ice storm) and so I sent receipt and now they say well it’s not on letter head... JB MARTIN is the claim adjuster on this and i don’t recommend this company to anyone!!!

At their request, I obtained & had repair shop email them repair estimate for damage their client caused to my vehicle. After 4 wks I still haven't received settlement!

Since moving to our small Virginia farm, we have had Goodville homeowners insurance. After 20 years, this spring was the first time we had to file a claim for wind storm damage. Overall the experience in settling our car insurance claim was very good to excellent. Claims rep, Jeanna was excellent: timely, responsive and settlement was paid in 10 days. Only issue was the initial call to the after hours claim reporting line. Service was less than satisfactory and frustrating. Next time (hopefully not one !) will just call agent.

I had storm damage on our roof. Goodville Mutual was quick to respond with an insurance adjuster, and covered the roof replacement and issued payment promptly. There was no problems in the process. Couldn't be more happy with the level of service delivered.

I was with Goodville for years but had to leave for various reasons. 1) I was unfairly denied a clearly covered business claim of 3500.00. The cost to fight them wouldn't have been worth it so I become alarmed about the representations all my coverages. 2) The premiums marched up relentlessly for full replacements cost; I was required to purchase high limits under their policy, based on replacement cost in some foreign land not representative of my rural county. So, after 10 years with that company and about 100k in premiums, I was stunned by the claim treatment I received, i.e. business defense costs of tenant counterclaim of negligence where I won by a directed verdict. The requirements of that claim were ridiculous. I won that case, but since the tenant falsely claimed he was constructively evicted do to mold, with zero proof, when actually he just wanted to break his lease, but mere mention of mold was first considered an exclusion to defense coverage, then after the court tossed the defendants counter claim in an directed verdict, that still wasn't enough and it should have been. A false claim of mold was their ticket out. So instead of investigating the claim further at their expense, when I was clearly covered, they required all kinds of other paper work beyond the directed verdict dismissal, and attorney fees at my expense. It was a farce. So, after a lot of work moving several buildings from their coverage to State Farm I finally feel secure that if I have a loss, or catastrophic loss, I will be treated much more fairly.

as a former Goodville producer out of the biz now) , I consistently recommended Goodville as a good option due to their rates, and flexibility in coverage, especially in the home coverage product. I recently had a simple auto claim, and was handled perfectly. No fuss, no muss, lots of contact, and prompt payment. I feel re assured tha tI was correct in all of the recommendations in the past few years.

It’s been weeks since their insurer ran a stop sign and T boned me. I’ve sent multiple emails one including a police report putting their insurer at fault. I’ve called everyday this week and each time my call goes to voicemail, I’ve left voicemails to the person assigned to my case and a supervisor and still have yet to have any correspondence regarding my claim. The last I have heard they were still determining who is at fault, even after providing the police report. Absolutely terrible company to work with!

Horrible experience. Family members passed away so they cancelled the policy. The only way they were interested in helping me was if I moved all of my policies to them, despite the property still being in the deceased family member's name. When I told them I wasn't in a position to move my policies, they hung up on me directly and wouldn't discuss other options. They claim to care - but they really don't, unfortunately.

Based on how rude the facilities manager is living next door to the company and being blamed for every piece of trash on the property simply because I live next door with kids. We are careful to always walk on the edge so we dont hurt the grass. We pick up anything we drop. I've spent whole days picking up what blew off my property into the field they have because of a storm. All the employees are so afraid of him they make the same comments. I can't trust this company. It would be really great to trust them since I'm next door. Almost went in 4 years ago when everything was fine but didn't have the time. Now I will never trust them and go in. By the way, I'm cleaning up a property that was abandoned for 5-10 years before I got it so it's a lot to take on. Mess comes with clean up. And my clean up of the property only makes theirs look better! I feel a little neighborly cooperation is warranted.

We have used Goodville Mutual for our homeowners insurance since 2014. Their rates are good and they were quick processing the claim we had due to a leak. We are currently in the process of using them for business insurance. We have definitely had a good experience with them this far.

I have had very good experience with Goodville. I just bought the Homeowner's and Auto policies in Jan 2017. I switched from another company to save on premiums at the advice of my agent. Anyway, I bought a new car in February, five weeks to the day later, we were hit with a damaging hail storm. The agent told me to get a quote for repairs (only one quote needed). I presented them with a quote one day later on a Friday. The claims adjuster from Goodville called me on Monday and said go ahead a have the car fixed. On Friday of the same week I received a check in the mail for the repairs (less the deductible). The check is made out to me with no questions asked! Very good service!

Thought Goodville was ok until I recently filed a claim. This is the 1st claim I have ever filed with any company, so I have nothing to compare to. Filing was simple, easy, & quick - 5 minutes online - great! However, I played phone tag with the representative assigned to me for 2 weeks. I finally emailed her & it was 5 days before she responded (2 of those days were a weekend). My mechanic offered to contact her directly, which finally got things moving & someone came out to do an estimate. However, Goodville did not contact me or send me a copy after they received the estimate. They did not provide any info or help as to acquiring a rental car & having it billed to them, since rental cars are covered under my policy. The hours are 8am-4:30pm...so I can't call before or after work & I don't have the kind of job where I can just make personal phone calls whenever. Today was the 1st time I actually spoke with the agent on the phone. She was not friendly, or pleasant, or helpful, very disappointing! She makes me feel like I'm an inconvenience.

I try to dodge giving bad reviews because I believe that some companies have off-days, so they may deserve a few more tries... but when it comes to things like insurance I think it is necessary to give honest advice to prospective consumers. When I bought my first house, this company was recommended to me by my lender. They were affordable, which was attractive. I was glad I had insurance, because the new house didn't respond well to a summer of heavy rain and wind and ended up with lots of leaks which lead to mold. When I filed my first claim, they were responsive and covered the damage. After this first claim, they became much less responsive to the point that I had to file one claim twice because they didn't respond at all to my first filing. The fourth claim was a similar issue with leaks and mold - it took over a month to hear back that the claims did not meet the deductible. Today, Goodville informed me in a very poorly written email that they were dropping me from coverage because I had filed too many claims. They said that "four claims was too much for three years." How is four claims too much, when only ONE was covered? In retrospect, Goodville never even came out to the house to assess various factors that would influence their decisions for coverage. Due to their unresponsiveness and conveniently low assessments of the damages in our home, it's become clear that this company is nothing more than a money-grab.

They have always been wonderful to work with and have responded to claims in a timely, professional, and personal ways. I have been with Goodville since August 2018 3 times I used their online bill pay that came back that the bank account was non existent. After reapplying the information numerous times it took. January 2020 I made a payment that was accepted received a letter in the mail that it was not accepted due to non existent bank account re made the payment within the time frame that was asked. Provided confirmation number even received my bill for next month. Today 2 weeks later I receive a letter stating my policy was cancelled due to lack of payment!! They will not reinstate and I have no homeowners now. How is that the case when I provided you with YOUR CONFIRMATION NUMBER?
