Jeff Schukar was extremely helpful in this whole process of refinancing my home. He went above and beyond my expectations. If I needed anything or had any questions Jeff was always there to answer them and provide me what I needed. Jeff even went so far, by helping me get my home insurance lowered by $1,000. As a United States Air Force veteran I wanted to refinance my home loan to a lower interest rate. The agent I started working with never returned phone calls or emails, I even tried text messaging, with no luck. I would receive emails from the agent and reply to him answering his questions in the email and asking my own questions. The agent would not answer any emails yet I kept receiving emails from him. Come to find out I was on an auto send email.l, he was never actually reading my responses and had no intentions of answering me back. Let me tell you that there is some kind of agent, some kind of customer service. When I called the office no other agents would help or give me any information other than I see your agent on the phone listing . I would not recommend using Golden Oak based on their customer service or lack there of customer service.

The experience at Golden Oak Lending was above par and really made everything great for me and my husband. We would recommend them very highly. They work very hard to get you the best rates and take care of every aspect on your schedule. Great Team!

I had the pleasure of working with Chad Jensen to try and lower the interest rate on my mortgage. I've worked with Chad several times in the past, each time he has given me the best interest rate available with reasonable closing costs. Also, with Covid 19 concerns Chad sent a courier to my city with the needed paperwork, saving me from having to drive to his office. I also appreciated his quick response to any questions I had. Unlike other companies, Golden Oak Lending was honest and upfront about their fees and closing costs. Working with Chad through the mortgage refinance process was a pleasure.

In what may prove to be the end of my extremely long financial wars, Jason Martin did a fantastic job of putting together a refinancing plan that addressed all of my concerns. Exactly what I was hoping to find!

Very poor service. Make me waited almost one year for closing and never closed finally they said we can’t approve your loan. My credit looks good, I been paying my mortgage on time never missed the payment from my previous mortgage company. All I was trying to do is refinance my home for better interest rate. My only problem was I am self employed and it seems liked self employed person will not get qualified for loan. Very disappointed with the service. I submitted so many documents for nothing. I will not recommend this lending Compnay to anyone.

Dusting, and The Golden Oak Lending Team, could not haver done a better job at making my refinance an easy process. Dustin did a superb job at communicating whether it was by text, phone or email. While locking us into an excellent rate, Sam worked with us on the timing of our appraisal and closing so that we could complete some renovations. Overall process: easy peasy!

Chad Jensen, my loan officer, made the process very easy and the closing was completed in record time with no issues whatsoever. My fee's were all very fair and acceptable. I even checked with my Credit Union, where rates and fee's are supposed to be cheaper, however, Golden Oak Lending beat them hands down. I've always heard of Golden Oak Lending but never reached out until now and I wish I would have done this sooner! They saved me SO MUCH money! I got a 15 year fixed loan at 2.5%! Chad was so wonderful and helpful and I trust in him and what he can do! I love the Golden Oak Lending staff and I'm not sure why everyone isn't calling them right now! They are top notch!

My wife and I were looking to re-finance our home. An office colleague (a CPA) immediately suggested Golden Oak Lending. I was not too familiar with the company and did a quick search. I sent my phone number and within minutes had a response from Jeremiah Trout. He walked us through the process of re-financing, and we set up an appointment to meet him. Basically, it only took a 45 minute meeting because everything had been prepared in advance. We found Jeremiah to be extremely competent and helpful, guiding us through each step. An appraiser came to the house within two or three days and it was only two more weeks before the final meeting was set up to finalize the paperwork. Everything cleared just a few days later. The entire staff at Golden Oak Lending were extremely kind, courteous and professional and at no time did we feel that we were being pressured to do something against our wishes. I would not hesitate in recommending Jeremiah and the team at Golden Oak for any financial matter. Thank you. Lynden Shalm

John Amini was very thorough and knowledgeable during the whole process. Being first time homebuyers, John assisted us in making an informed decision on obtaining a loan best suited for us. He also made sure we secured the best interest rate. He was always available to go over concerns or answer any questions we had. It was an absolute delight working with John.

This was our second refi and the staff was very friendly and helping us out through the long process due to the current demand. We were informed throughout the whole process and we were not inconvenienced, even bringing the paperwork to our house to complete the process. Chad Jensen was our servicer and I would also give him 5+ stars for his service throughout the process. It was our second time using Chad as well and I would definitely recommend him for your needs.

A review on the company as an employee: 1. Pay - Well below industry standard for everyone except loan officers. Lousy raises. Quarterly bonuses were nice when the company was doing well. Next to nothing when they aren’t. 2. Management - Every single manager there except for the closing and lock desk manager was disliked. They are extremely rude, bad mouth their employees, MICROMANAGE horribly, and do not give credit where it is due while encouraging bad work ethic. The accounting/business/lead managers, file setup manager, and processing manager were horrible. 3. Workplace environment - The loan officers were extremely rude and would yell at processing constantly, and were never punished for it. It was well known that since the loan officers “made the money for the company” that we were to never talk rudely to them, while they were allowed to treat every other employee horribly. 4. Culture - Many VPs, supervisors, and managers would go out and drink for hours during the day and come back blatantly wasted. There was a very alcohol centered culture, but also a huge double standard. We would get in SO MUCH trouble for just going a few minutes over our lunch or break times, meanwhile our management would be at a bar all day not working and come back loudly parading around the office drunk. 5. Company - The company has an outdated lead system and focuses on only refinances, which is no wonder they are incredibly slow and laying people off. It’s a horrible business model and is destined to perform horribly any time rates are high. We would also get calls constantly about borrowers who were never called back or communicated with. The customer service was not good. Overall, it was a horrible experience working there. Elitism and nepotism are very apparent traits of the company. Bad pay, horribly ran, stressful environment. Anyone I tell that I used to work there says they’ve also heard terrible things about not only the company but the owners. Heard they just laid off a bunch of people too which we were always ensured they would never do. Stay away from this place if you want a secure job and good work culture.

The process to get the loan was very smooth and easy. I was surprise that I needed less paper work that I have for past refinances. Why the 2 stars? Well, of course they don't actually service the loan themselves, but they turn around and sell it. They sold my load to an apparently less than reputable mortgage company. Now I am going through the process trying to prove I have enough insurance, but they are not interested in an actual conversation. DON'T REFINANCE WITH A COMPANY THAT WILL SELL YOUR LOAN!!!

Sam was very easy to work with. He very succinctly addressed my needs and made the refinancing process very comfortable and simple. The closing was much faster than anticipated and I couldn't be more pleased.

Our loan officer, Steve Schulte, made the process simple and easy for us, and understood our goals with regard to our no cash-out refinance. He didn't try to steer us into anything we didn't want, just worked well with us to help us reduce our interest rate. NEVER AGAIN!!!! We were notified Via TEXT MESSAGE and EMAIL that after waiting 2 months for a refinance, that we would NOT be able to refinance. We were obviously devastated!! Even after being told he was 90% sure we would close the following week. Dennis (Denny) Maher is the most unprofessional coward we have ever dealt with. We were told in the beginning of all of this that we only needed 12 months of solid mortgage payments, only to find out days before closing that we need 24 months!!! Then we waited to hear exactly when we would be able to refinance, that we need to check with our mortgage company to find out. Oh but he had this to say, (THROUGH TEXT MESSAGE) "The good news is though that this should go by fast." What in the hell?? Not even a call, even though we left him voice-mails. Talk about unprofessional. It's hard to believe this is coming from a reputable company. We have worked with Golden Oak many times in the past. Now we are going through our credit union which we should have done from the beginning!!! I am currently preparing a letter for the president to relay my thoughts on the unprofessionalism going on in his company. We will definitely tell our family and friends to go elsewhere!!!
