Jeff Johnston is a true professional in every respect: He understands the ins-and-outs of the housing market, he is a very personable guy who is courteous to his clients, he explains the mortgage process clearly, he never rushes a client, he takes the time to answer his client's questions and he works hard to help his clients achieve their financial needs. Most importantly, Jeff looks out for the client's best interest in that he will lay out all the loan numbers, provide the pros and cons of the loan, give his truthful opinion about whether or not the loan will be beneficial to the client and, without any pressure, leaves it up to the client to make the final decision on whether or not to proceed with the loan. Last, but not least, Jeff treats his clients with respect which, in my opinion, seems to be a rarity nowadays. I could not be happier with Jeff Johnston being my loan officer and I look forward to working with him again in the future whenever the need arises. Jeff is extremely good at his job; he is a tremendous asset to Golden Oak Lending and they are very lucky to have him employed at their company.

Truly the best experience in customer service. Please read my entire review. When I decided to refinance my loan I gave my current lender PNC the opportunity first. That basically fell on deaf ears. They almost acted like I was bothering them. So after a little research I decided to call Golden Oak. Immediately I was able to speak with Ron Gavel. Please write his name down and ask for Him. Ron was professional, extremely knowledgeable, courteous and truly top notch when it comes to customer service. Most of the transaction was handled online or over the phone a few emails and some time later I was closing. I worked with other people from their organization and everyone was extremely helpful. I am in customer service myself and this team nails it from start to finish. The gentleman who brought the closing documents to my house was also professional and courteous. My strongest recomendations!!!!

We had attempted to refinance our present mortgage (and a 2nd) with another company which was not a good experience. My wife told me that she saw a commercial on TV about Golden Oak which she thought it was a good idea to check out. It was not a good idea. It was a fantastic idea. Working with Bill was amazing, we were turned down from other lenders over the minuscule details, and Bill helped us through them and actually worked with us (instead of saying nope, can’t help you and not even really try) to ensure that we were able to get a home. He was very easy to communicate with, and we were always kept in the loop. The house buying process was not an easy task at all, but he made it a lot less stressful. I would have gave 5 stars, but one thing really turned me off from the experience. Blair was our servicing agent and he was fantastic through the whole process, answered all of my ridiculous questions, always promptly returned calls and kept me up to date on the process. We did a refinance and closed within 45 days as promised. Overall happy with the experience until I received an email stating that our loan had been sold. When I emailed our agent he explained they sold mortgages, and some sell quicker than others. We haven’t even made our first payment( with the lovely skip two months). Not entirely comfortable with that, knowing nothing about the company our loan was sold to. Unfortunately stuck now. Know better for the future. Aside from that, I was impressed with the process and the ease of the refinance.

Ron Gavel and Golden Oak are AMAZING! The best overall loan experience I ever had. I have had lots of loans with other companies including home mortgages, remodeling, rental properties and a restaurant loan. Couldn't ask for better service. Way to go!

We had Traci. This is our third loan using only Traci. She is very thorough and identifies any outstanding information needed to process the loan. We have always closed on time, provided that we have submitted our info on time. Our first time around, she even helped us get someone to put in a sewage clean out in order for the Municipal Authority go release the lien prior to closing when it was really difficult to find someone (a new clean/water act was passed and our city never updated the requirements so they put it on the homeowners to have the clean outs installed prior to any selling/refi/closing of their properties). She has always been as accurate as possible. Would definitely recommend Traci and Golden Oak. Speaking to Golden Oak, they do sell your loan about a month after closing, so as long as you can handle minimal change upfront, it's never been a problem for us.
