Our original home mortgage was sold to GMFS and I must say that trying to give someone money has never been as diffiicult in my lifetime of 73 years. We asked for and recieved a payoff balance. Our payoff wire was sent but then returned to the originating bank so then we mailed GMFS a cashiers check for the payoff amount. It was also returned with a letter stating that our mortgage was paid off. They also recorded a lien satisfaction with our county clerk. Calling their office to try to talk to a competent human was agonizing. They finally woke up to the fact that we still owed them money and we sent yet another wire today. Hopefully this will be the END of our dealings with GMFS. Be forwarned.

I received an email about my insurance. The link in the email doesn't work! all contact links on their website are connected to a company in Australia !!! and when I called their number, I spent 20-30 minutes to navigate their menu before I could talk with an operator

Just bought a home, my mortgage was sold to these clowns and man what a disappointment. Their āwelcome callā was a teenager telling my there was a welcome packet in the mail, so we really didnāt need to go over anything since all the information was in the packet, and hung up. This was my welcome call⦠They donāt even post a customer service email on their website - HUGE RED FLAG!! Read the other reviews, avoid these guys!!

Used GMFS as my mortgage provider when refinancing. The closing process was absolutely horrible. They called 30 minutes before closing asking me to run and get a cashier check after telling me the day before nothing was required! After all of the commotion we get to the closing table and they said oh you didn't need that cashier check... wasted my time, extremely unorganized. After closing I never received any paper work in the mail but kept receiving emails asking me how was my experience of setting up the online account. Also sent me someone else's information about a donation GMFS made to a local hospital in his name... Reflective of their uppermanagent team.

I've been a customer for a few months now and for some reason my latest payment did not get posted even though my bank account shows it was made. There were no issues with previous payments so why out of the blue there is a problem, is not clear. To put salt on the wound, I called after searching for many places on where to call and going through an extensive phone cue and entering several pieces of information only to lose contact right after the associate answered the phone. I went through the entire phone cue process yet again and there was no associate answer, only silence then the call ended. If this is GMFS's idea of good service then they have no concept of what good service is. They are dead last in service.

The loan officer was very nice at first. He was very responsive, answered all our phone calls and questions that my husband and I had. We submitted the information that he asked for. All of a sudden when we tried to contact him, we noticed that our phone calls were going to voicemail and our text messages were going unanswered. It's been an lack of communication for at least over 2 weeks.

Can not say enough good things about the mortgage process with GMFS. I originally did a renovation loan with them and then refinanced one year letter with a much better interest rate! Their loan officers are truly knowledgeable and it was a great experience.

They charge you additional late fees after trying to reach them and pay using the automatic bill pay. And their service reps are very rude and uncaring even after being on hold for close to an hour. I understand shortages but their method of assisting is more of a headache. I still have late fees because they refused to cancel them. No one explained that with the janky website. I will not use them again if I can help it.

Extremely unorganized. Behaved on the verge of harassment when verifying employment. Kept calling and calling employer and bothering them, even after getting the answer several times. Closing was confusing, not all of the instructions were clear and it ended up getting postponed to the next week when all of the attorneys for the title company and buyers and sellers agents had already convened for an hour. What a mess!

Incredibly poorly run business, if you have other options I would highly advise going elsewhere. GMFS paid my escrow balance to a different property than the one that I own. When questioned about this they said that they would fix it. They then paid the incorrect amount and I received another notice from my tax collector. After contacting them again, they once again reassured me they would take care of it. After 6 months from first contact they are still not paid. On top of this they have raised my mortgage payment to reflect the initial amount that they paid to the wrong property and have told me that they need to get a refund from the county before they will change it. A business that makes mistakes with large amounts of customer money and then charges the customer for those mistakes is certainly fraud. I have not been irate with any agent over the phone yet I consistently get people that are either too poorly trained to understand the problem or simply can't be bothered as the tax department blames the payment department and likewise the other way. They transfer, they are not sympathetic at all (how would you feel if someone took over a thousand dollars from you and then lost it and demanded you pay them back for losing your money?), and have let what should have been a small problem balloon into a massive problem. I own another house and have literally never had to contact my mortgage company a single time.

Due to job transfers, we've moved across the country a lot. So, we've been through the mortgage loan process multiple times. GMFS was by far the best mortgage loan process that we've ever had. From inquiry to loan closing was 23 days! Not only was the process fast, but Lance & Tommy kept us informed every step of the way. I can't imagine a more exciting, challenging, and often stressful endeavor than buying a house. There's just too much to remember with markets fluctuating and guidelines changing at every turn. Even though I never missed a payment, they had me listed as in Deferment. It affected my credit and I had to bring it to their attention. Also, getting through to someone to help me was a nightmare. I have since refinanced with another company and have waited over a month for them to return the money they owe. I do not recommend.
