DeAngela Taylor provided exceptional, world class service as my Loan Officer for the purchase of my very first home in Ellenwood, Georgia. From the beginning, DeAngela made herself readily available. I am someone who has to analyze and process things, so working with someone like me comes with a lot of questions, even more follow up questions and double checking for accuracy, because I’ve worked with many of vendors and I know for certain, good help is hard to find. Well, DeAngela over exceeded my expectations from the very beginning. She not only answered my questions but she welcomed me asking even more. She also educated me on topics on the realtor side and well as the lending side. DeAngela has many of characteristics that I like but 2 stand out. The first is that she worked with a sense of urgency. She was always quick to reply to my emails or messages right away as well as take my calls. The attention she gave me made me feel unique, though I am sure she is this way with all her clients. Her ability to work with a sense of urgency enabled her to give me the Clear to Close within 17 days. The homeowner was present when I viewed the property and I asked her if she was looking for a quick sale and she said she was. I know from working with DeAngela on another offer that she could close in 17 days. I told the homeowner I could do a quick sale and close in under 30 days. The seller’s agent informed my agent that my ability to close in such a short amount of time is what made her accept my offer. Therefore, I attribute my first home purchase to DeAngela. When I think about how she constantly followed up with my agent, the seller’s agent, tax accessor office and advised me on things to do to make the purchase go smooth… she was my loan officer, tax person and agent, all in one. Simply put, DeAngela Taylor is amazing. I thank God for her! The second characteristic that I love about her is her race. Race is a protected characteristic and the fact that she is a Black woman makes me proud. I googled loan officers in the U.S. and less than 9% are Black. I am so proud to tell my family, friends, social media and the world that my loan office is Black. As a Black woman that is a political head, I read often about the discriminatory acts that Black people face when it comes to lending. It is wrong. It is unfair and it is racist. Honestly, I was nervous that I too may run into that issue applying for a loan. But when I saw the picture of my loan officer in her signature, all that fear went away. There is a calm that came over me for the simple fact that DeAngela is a Black woman. As a buyer, I can attest seeing someone who looks like me makes a difference. There was a sense of trust that came with that. Trust and relief. Many thanks to DeAngela Taylor for making my first home purchase seamless. I truly don’t know anything she could have done differently to make this process any smoother. I appreciate DeAngela Taylor so much. I understand the importance of home ownership. This has been by far the worst experience I have ever dealt with when closing on any property. I’ve started this process on January 15, 2021 on a cash out refinancing my property. First I was quoted 5.5% interest on 1.75 points with 80% loan to value. Great, no problem! My credit score was not quite at the 740 minimum and was shown what needs to be done to get to 740 before the 30 days of not pulling my credit. Followed their instructions to the letter in a matter of a couple of weeks! After I did that, the representative waited til AFTER the 30 days. So now my credit has to be pulled again. During the appraisal, it came back very low. Appealed that process which I was vindicated and it was changed. Presented EVERY piece of paperwork the rep asked for MULTIPLE times. Received the paper work on closing, it’s showing 6.5% interest and 3.25 points from what was initially agreed upon. Emailed and called the rep. Basically their response was “That was then and this is now.” Last time I checked, I thought you was locked to term sheet. After a week in a half trying to reach to manager to express my frustrations, management explained the reasoning behind the difference was due to my credit being worked on. Wished the rep would have explained that to me, but definitely did not. Finally trying to get things back on track (had to settle for 6.5% and 2 points, by the way), then it’s being stated they need proof of rents being received for 3 months. No problem, I submitted to them for underwriting. Then they come back with “oh, we need proof of a utility bill from each tenant.” WHAT?!?!?! After BEGGING and reasoning with my tenants, I was able to submit that. Now, “we need a tenant ledger.” Even though I submitted it, now I’m feeling as if they think I’m some criminal trying to launder money through realestate. I’m a HARD working person just trying to build wealth for my family. Mind you, I already had to pay 1 penalty of $1750 towards my hard money loan and now I’m looking to have to pay ANOTHER $1750 penalty towards my hard money loan all because they won’t close on the home. And I’m sure no one will pick up that $3500 tab even though it’s Geneva Financial’s fault. I’m so angry and hurt. This not ever make me want to pursue realestate ever again cause it’s obvious they don’t want my business.

I am extremely happy with the service I was given by Mia and all of the staff at Geneva Financial Home loans. I had a situation that no one could help me. Scott was exceptional in helping us obtain a loan to buy our new home. He went beyond what was expected to help us. There was a lot of paper work and we got it back to him to go to the underwriters as soon as possible. The advice he gave us was important and advised us every step of the way through this long process. Looking back at the process we completed a self employment loan in 60 days. Taking into consideration the home buying boom this year from delays of getting an inspection to the wait on getting an appraisal because companies were back logged approximately 6 weeks. Being self employed there are a huge number of hoops to jump through!! At points in the process it got very trying to say the least. Brad was always positive and brought me back in off the ledge. Very pleased with Geneva Financial, especially with our loan officer Austin Kummer. We purchased a home in Portland and originally went with BofA as our lender, but there were too many delays and snags. We had to switch lenders two weeks before closing and contacted Austin based on the recommendation of our real estate agent. I’m confident that had we not switched to Austin as our loan officer we wouldn’t be in this home. He was extremely responsive, on top of things, and easy to work with.

I did both of my first mortgage and refinance through Manny and he did a fantastic job. There were some certain difficulties because my case was a little bit complicated since we were moving from other State to a new State… But he made it!
