Gem pawnbrokers have always taken good care of me. You always feel safe. All of the workers are very friendly and make you feel comfortable they all do their best to give you the most money they possibly can. You never feel as though you’re getting ripped off when you go there.

Had to stay in car with kids and my sister went in a came and got me and he wouldn't let me sell it because she said it wasn't hers its mine. But because she went in with them first he wouldn't do it. But its my jewelry. The worse ever

I have been going to Gem pawn for almost a decade, I have tried almost a dozen other pawn shops & no other pawn shop can come close in comparison to Gem pawn, they offer the highest money whether you decide to pawn an item or sell an item. Their interest rates are the lowest, I trust whatever I pawn with them will be returned to me in the exact condition as I gave it. They are very considerate & kind & are willing to work with you if your item is recently pass due they do not want you to lose a sentiment item you have pawn just as much as you don’t want to lose it. I would never think of going to another pawn place. I have used the Gem pawn shop located in Hicksville when I was living in Nassau however since moving to Suffolk county I have been going to the Gem pawn shop located in Selden for the past 3 yrs & I was extremely happy to find the same great service I received in Hicksville at the Selden location with the manager Vinny who works there. He is an absolute wonderful genuine person to do business with. Like I mentioned he is honest, extremely fair, & as long as you keep in contact with him if an item you pawn is past due, Vinny will do everything within his power, he is more than willing to work with you as long as you keep in contact with him so that you will not lose “anything “! Trust me, I been there, & I know 1st hand”. He is a great guy & I wouldn’t trust my valuables in the hands of anyone else but Vinny. What a fun experience. I received generous prices for things I forgot I even had. The staff are fun and welcoming and extremely helpful. The store also has a great selection of popular items that we all pay way too much for anyway. So glad I stopped in and checked them out.

It was difficult for me to pawn my engagement ring. I was having a really hard time. After meeting with Vinny I felt comfortable with the decision I made. He was very personable, and professional. He also made me feel very reassured about my return to pick up my ring. This is not something I do but was facing a hardship and I thank GEM for their help.

After searching for a decent and honest pawn broker we stumbled upon Gem. Vinny was unbelievably honest, true to his word and easy to deal with. Friendly staff and great service, when I needed a short term loan Vinny Modelli the store manager made the process as smooth as possible and assured me that my jewelry would be locked in a vault safe and secure. If you need a short 2 week loan or just want to get rid of old jewelry from an old boyfriend, this is the place to go!

If you ever need to get rid of old jewelry or even get some extra cash for a loan, there isn’t anywhere else I’d rather go. I personally prefer the Selden location (Vinny is the best) but they have a ton of different locations. They’re fair with their pricing and it’s really nice to deal with actual human beings who are compassionate and understanding. I’m so glad I found them!

I researched many shops and this one had very good reviews. Well, the reviews were absolutely correct. I went in to the shop to sell an old, outdated but sentimental gold charm bracelet along with some other pieces. I was apprehensive as to what to expect. Upon entering Craig was amazing. He was friendly and made me feel very comfortable. He explained all the steps to me and was extremely kind. As the Regional District Manager, Craig, clearly has a great understanding of the business. It was my first time in my life pawning/taking a loan for an item. This company made it a very nice experience, even though I was a mess and scared of what I was doing. The employees are awesome and they worked with me every step of the way! I took a lot longer than I thought it would take to pay back the item but they were super great about it.
