My wife and I have had two major transactions with Gateway, our initial mortgage and our refinance. Our initial mortgage seemed to go ok at the time, but during the refinance process, we found that we actually lost a good chunk of money based on the conditions of the first closing (which could have been avoided). Against my better judgement, I decided to follow through on the refinance with them. Due to misinformation, we found out (at closing) that our initial payment was due sooner than we were told up to that moment. It was actually my wife and I who noticed that the closing docs had a different first payment date than we had been told, the representative stated he didn’t notice the difference until then. I think Gateway has very nice representatives that have good intentions, but there is a major lack of attention to detail which comes at a financial cost to their clients. There were more than the two instances where we saw those details missed, and it pains me to write this review but I feel it is necessary to advise others of our experiences.

I just completed my third loan with Steve Drager at Gateway Mortgage. Steve provides excellent service and invaluable mortgage advice. His team was able to approve my latest loan within seven days of submitting my application. The paperwork process was easy as everything can be done electronically. This process saved a lot of time. Steve does a great job setting expectations so that you feel comfortable throughout the process. I recommend Steve to anyone that is in need of a mortgage or refinance!
