My first time ever buying a new car. Ed was great!! So friendly, nice and helpful showed me how to work the features in the car as well as helped me pair my phone to the car after purchase and showed me how to work those features. Jason in finance was fantastic as well! He helped me get my rate to where I wanted! Both were really great, decent guys!! A bit of a drive for us but totally worth it!! Will definitely be back!

Great experience with this dealership. I was at a different dealership earlier that was just horrible and hesitant coming to another one but the minute I walked in to Gary Lang it was a whole different atmosphere. Took my car in for service, there was noise and engine light on. They told me all the things that that needed to have serviced on and I would pay over $6,000. Had them fix noise and whatever was causing engine light on. Left service and I can still hear noise. Take it back in and now they are saying the noise is something else and want to charge me $2,000. You said it was fixed it the first time and now want to “fix” what’s REALLY wrong!! These guys are just guessing. No thanks I’ll take my money elsewhere. And why charge me another diagnosis when I went in for same noise you guys supposedly fixed. You guys are terrible! Too bad I was looking into buying a car from there for my daughter.

I had problems with the brilliance dealership in the past so I came to Gary lang to my my now Subaru. Buying my car was very easy they even drove my car out to me. However the service department has made it a little difficult for me to want to come back. My mirror got taken out by a block of ice in January (now end of April). In January I had surgery so I couldn’t drive till about 8 weeks ago. I then brought my car in it took 3 weeks for the mirror to come in. I am okay with that as it’s not their faults for shipping a part to them. The problem I have is that they called me to tell me they are painting it and will give me a call in two days. Never got a call and had to call them two weeks after the call they got the part. Scheduled to bring my car in a week last (so they have had the mirror for 3 weeks). When I brought my car in they told me that the mirror paint did not match my car and that they didn’t even open the box in the three weeks that that had to check if it matched. And now it has to be sent out to get painted.

Worked with Noah from Sept last year to spec, order and obtain a GMC Sierra 1500. Absolutely flawless service during these crazy times for trying to buy any kind of vehicle, let alone a truck. Was super pleased to pick my brand new truck up in the December and two months in we’re going strong. I will return to Gary Lang when it’s time to upgrade my wife’s car in a couple of years.

I got a used car from here and one of the workers daughters previously owned it. They told me the car was all good and kept up with and showed no accidents on the car fax. After getting the vehicle it started having such bad issues and I took it in and it needed 4k in repairs in order to even drive again. A part in the car was replaced by hand due to being in an accident that was never reported and it completely ruined everything else in the car. I contacted them about this expecting maybe for it to be compensated due to them lying to me and have all the proof for it and all they did was try and sell me another car when I’m in no financial position because I have to pay off the repairs and continue to pay monthly for this car. I was just fed lies just so they can get a sale off. Now the only “help” they can offer is just trying to lure me into buying another vehicle

Can't tell you how disappointing this experience was. Oil change not done properly had to goto the BMW shop to get it corrected...they paid 1/2 of that cost...should have been all since they were supposed to do it but during the inspection at the BMW dealer the rear brakes were completely shot and failed the inspection. Another immediate $500+ expense that should have been caught during their inspection...I submitted invoice and asked them to pay for atleast 1/2 and now I am getting ghosted. They don't care about their customer just the sale and just your money...I would avoid. When you by an expensive car you have certain expectations. When you are assured by both the sales person and sales manager that all used cars are inspected and that we don't put cars on the lot that aren't ready. If the brakes need replacing tell me and say we aren't fixing it. but don't tell me all is good and its ready to go when its not...I have a family I want to keep safe.

Scheduled a 4pm CST Friday appointment for an oil change. Was asked if I wanted a complimentary car wash, said sure. I always drop my vehicle off and pick up the next day. In this case, I needed to wait for the oil change, and I made the assumption that since I had a 4pm appointment, it would take 20-30mins. Unfortunately it took 1h 40mins. I was not informed of the duration, and missed a dinner date due to the assumption/miscommunication. The assistant discounted the bill due to this, which is appreciated. Recommend that customers are advised of expected durations when they are going to wait for their vehicle in the future. Thank you.

Just received the worst service I've ever had from the Kia service department. Took a key fob to get programmed and when I got there to pick it up it didn't work. They told me sorry but nothing we can do about it after they charged me $90 to get my keys back just to find out it doesn't work. All they would of had to do is tell me the key fob I was brining in most likely wouldn't work before hand. Then they also wanted to charge me another $45 to cut the key that cane with the fob just so i could open the doors. They have continued to let me down each time I've tried to use them for any kind of service. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. I've even tried to buy a vehicle from here only to have the manager change the deal at the last minute because he decided they could do better off someone else.

Due to an issue with the truck back window taking on water- we had to bring the truck in for service (after the surprise of discovering our backseat, carseats, headliner and back all soaking wet due to rain and finding out this is an issue with this model truck) we brought it in last Wednesday to be serviced the next day. No loaner cars, but told we would have the truck back no later than Saturday (hopefully Friday). After no communication for days, Monday we finally get a return call that waiting on GM to approve fix. Again, no loaner cars and little communication with promises of call backs since Friday and calling and leaving messages we finally get a call on WEDNESDAY of the following week the truck is ready to be picked up. Our headliner is stained and was told by the service tech there is nothing the dealership will do. Was told we would have a call back by a manager yesterday, again no communication. Buying the truck was easy at the dealership, bringing it in for any warranty work has been a nightmare. Follow-Up from previous review: I am changing my review as it turns out Sam, our service guy was one foot out the door and is now no longer with the company. Since dealing with a new rep, we had clear communication and the stain was corrected/cleaned with no marks remaining. Thank you GL for fixing someone elses mistake and taking ownership to make things right! Again, GL stays loyal to it's customers. It's ashame that someone who was leaving the company couldn't continue with GL loyalty until the very end.

I spent months looking at car and finally had decided on a Crosstrek but ultimately the hard was trying to find one that wasn’t being overcharged. Sale person was kind of pushy and when I had a problem with the vehicle my mechanic told me to bring it back to them because it was only two weeks ago that I bought the car have a service department went and got the salesperson that's hold me in the car the salesperson proceeded to tell me sad I signed a waiver saying I was taking in the car as is that there is nothing that they can do for me and then proceeded to argue with me about the fact that taking it to a small mechanic to have it worked on was not very smart that they tend to jack up the prices and tell me things that aren't really wrong with the car other than that everyone else that I dealt with their was very professional and the car is not a bad car it just needs some work my mechanic advised me just to take it back to see if there was anything that they could do as far as some of the repairs on it but then I feel the social try to turn it into something else like I was trying to scam something I probably would not back to this dealer for anything again and furthermore I ordered some parts on Wednesday of last week and they still have not gotten back to me and let me know if they're in or not I just think that their customer service could be a little bit better and some of the sales associates I need to lose their high-and-mighty attitude

Went there looking to buy a Kia telluride but they sold the one we wanted the night before. Ended up buying a Chevy traverse instead. We were treated well by all the people we dealt with. Went in for first oil change. Told them when I scheduled the service that the horn was not sounding right. When I came in for the service, was told that the experienced techs were not there and could only do the basic oil change. They then informed me of a software update that a needed... but again, the tech was not there to do this, so I'd need to schedule another appointment. Not sure why they can't organize the appointments better so customers don't need to waste time on 2 trips.

I went in for an oil consumption test 3 times and they told me there was nothing wrong with my car. I realized they had documented my mielage incorrectly. How are they going to provide service or even know if my car has the defect of oil consumption or not if they don't document correct mielage. They are always on a rush to get you out, but take forever to do something as simple as checking the dip stick for an oil change.
Jacqueline, We have looked at your 2013 Terrain with over 100K miles two times prior but could not find anything wrong with your vehicle. Our manager did contact you to let you know that there would be diagnostic charge for future checks and would be noted in your file.

Recently had a regular oil change on my 2019 GMC Sierra. After 2 weeks noticed large oil puddle under vehicle. I inspected under engine and found oil filter loose. Oil had been leaking how long, and how much oil was left in engine? Returned vehicle to Gary Lang dealership and they worked on problem. This is a routine service that should have never happened. My question is how much damage has this caused to my engine and I feel as though I was dismissed with a “free oil change” next time. How does one calculate the lessened life of an engine?

Steve my advisor helped with getting me in to verify my problem, when another dealer did not have a tech for it. Diagnosed quickly and fixed in a timely manner. Even gave me a ride back to Huntley so my wife didn't have to leave work to pick me up.

Courtesy is not a top priority here made an appointment to see a vehicle on Saturday they knew I was traveling from Chicago to McHenry about an hour and a half away I get there and was told that the vehicle I was there to see had just sold 15 minutes prior to my arrival so I went to a dealership down the way and purchased a 2012 Yukon for only 11,000 when they wanted 13,000 for a 2009

Waited all day, the next day, for the sales manager to call back with our finally deal and pricing. Never got a call on a vehicle approved for. Just needed to work out some negotiation. I purchased a used vehicle from here at the beginning of June 2021. I actually was pretty worried about this, because I was trading in a vehicle that had a pretty spotty history. I had actually been to a couple of dealerships prior to this one shopping my existing car around for a trade-in, and wasn't real happy with the amount offered. I was called out of the blue by someone from Gary Lang and was encouraged to bring it in, and they had the exact used vehicle I was interested in, and it was fairly convenient for me to get there, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm SO glad I did. I worked with Bill Ciszon who took care of me, and I was in and out of there in less than two hours, amazing experience. The choice of who to talk to when making a large purchase like a car always comes down to two things for me - price and service. I thought Gary Lang excelled in both areas - I felt very comfortable with not only what was offered for my trade, but the purchase price of the car as well. Everything was presented up front and it was a very easy process. Would definitely recommend checking this dealership out if you're in the market for a car as the property contains several dealerships and a HUGE lot - tons of inventory. Definitely a busy place, but not great at estimating the amount of time it takes for service on a car. Also, I was told my car was ready twice when it wasn't, it just happened to be another white car - so, Definitely they need to work on their attention to detail. The overall attitude of the person i dealt with was great, though, even apologized when she falsely told me it was my car that was complete. I know when I bought cars here though they checked my credit a BUNCH of times, which is why I dock them a star. Let's face it 12 hard checks in one day? Ridiculous.

Went for a 30k miles maintenance package at 12:07 pm, spoke with Jeffrey and he told me it will be done by 5 pm. 3 hours later he calls me and tells me they can't do it today ,but they can do it tomorrow. I explained him that that's not possible, need the car to take the kids to school, he didn't seem to care much about. Didn't offer me a loaner car or something, just told me to come pick it up. Very rude, can't believe I bought a car from this place. Won't be coming back here, that's for sure. Stay away from this place

First, we had issue with communicate from Service Tech Dino for our GMC. What is the point of making a reservation if you do not uphold it. My husband spoke to Dino once in the afternoon. Dino stated its in the stall and is next. We didn't hear from him so we called at 5pm and Dino was gone and noone had looked at it yet. 2 days of lost wages. With that said, Chevy did waive one of the fees but could not find the issue. 2nd car - Chevy Cruze was brought in and we paid 1800.00 for service. On the way home from the service center the engine light came back on. They couldn't take the car immediately to look at the problem and we couldn't go another day with more wages lost. Joseph was the service rep, he was very nice. Finally, we got it back in. Now the service said it the computer. 1. Why didn't you find the issue immediately? Lastly, wanted to charge us 680.00. Joseph said thats the lowest he can get the repairs. My husband said no, take it off the rack. All of a sudden it now down to 560????? Really, the lowest you can go. Seems like a scam to me.

Had a very poor experience wanting to purchase a used vehicle from them. After they were helpful answering my questions, they then tried to sell me the vehicle for $1,000 more than they originally stated and their site has listed. Stating “it was listed on our site and cars.com incorrectly, it should have been $2,000 more, but we discounted it for you.” After push back for them to honor the price originally discussed and listed online, they insisted to upsell me at this new “discounted price” even though the vehicle was clearly not worth the additional cost. Over a week later the vehicle is still listed the same lower price. Odd, since that’s “incorrect.” I’m usually not one to assume things like this, but I can’t help but believe that maybe if I was not a female they would have talked to me differently or handled the situation differently. Piss poor service from their sales department. Would not recommend anyone purchase a vehicle from them.

I had a 2011 Cadillac SUV I took it in because of water leaking into the front passenger floor. The took the car into the car was and said they see nothing. I took it home and a few days later i noticed water on the floor after a rain. Took it back and they did the same thing. So a week later after a heavy rain the electric back hatch on the car would not open. I took it back to GL and they called and said the storage space in back was full of water. So I go in to the dealer and the service guy walks me to the car and the entire interior of the car is on the floor. He tells me all of the electric in the back is burned out and it will be $5000. I call my insurance company and they tell me its a mechanical failure. The drain from the sun roof has a bulletin out saying it was made too short and should be replaced. It was a known defect! I asked the shop guy about it. He said "do you think we read that stuff?" Do they base their work on the mechanic that just came from oil change class? I work in a related field and read bulletins about problems all the time. I got Cadillac involved and they fixed the issue. I would not take a car back to them for service.

I first contacted Gary Lang about ordering a Camaro ZL1 over the phone and asked if they were charging over MSRP and was told they were not. I went in to build the car worked with Nick who was great and once the order was given to the manager I was told there would be a $2500 premium over MSRP after they said MSRP was the price 3 days before on my 1st visit. I asked about GM letter to dealers about markups and was told they have to charge a premium over MSRP because it is a rare car. Was very disappointed being lied to about pricing wasting my time.

The people are nice, but it's still the usual waiting several hours for something that "will only be an hour." Be sure to avoid their "bumper to bumper and gap insurance" that you can get from your current insurance. It doesn't cover wear and tear. So, it's really more about them pocketing money to drive up your monthly cost. I initially got my car as a lease, and then financed it out. Suffice to say, it was a long wait both times for moving any paperwork around. I advise that you do your best to haggle if you want to get the right price. If it says Gary Lang on the back, you still might have paid too much.

Won't be back. Joke!! It's a shame my parents bought almost all there cars and trucks from Garylang. It really went downhill after Dave Dema left and Nancy. There was a lot of great memories. Even Bill Cizion. When we went to see him for a truck he was busy and put us with this other guy. That's where it all started lies lies lies . Then when confronting Bill he wasn't having anything to do with it. Then to find out that the sales guy we used had left or got fired. So since there was nothing in writing because we trusted him to follow though with what he had promised about the truck like replacing running boards and getting dents fixed. Butler service is a joke nothing but headaches. I'm 21 and finiaced my own $40 thousand dollar truck. So ya I'm very disappointed. We traveled from Barrington to come to this dealer because of how good the service was not no more. Won't be coming back and I don't think my parents will be either.

I’ve been a customer for seven years.I have purchased two commercial vehicles here and I have had my trucks serviced here but today, I had a quote for a radiator work in my truck and they gave me a price that it was a rip off that’s just 100% a rip off, they told me $2,250 just to change my radiator. I WILL NEVER MAKE BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE ANY MORE.
Juan, the work that was quoted on your vehicle was for a radiator replacement and oil cooler lines totaling $2200. We appreciate you bringing your vehicle to us in the hopes that we could assist you. Unfortunately, the dealership you chose to work with is the same dealership that broke your radiator while replacing your water pump. If they are willing to replace your radiator at their expense and give you free labor to make up for their error, we completely understand. But assure you, we were in no way ripping you off. We simply gave you our fair and honest quote for the parts and labor on these two items. Should you change your mind in the future, our Service Advisors will be here to help. Unfortunately I do not remember her name. I thought I saw my vehicle in the front lot area but upon getting close, it was not mine. CAR BUYER BEWARE! These folks are not to be trusted. They will lie to get you in the dealer. They will lie about the price, including Truecar. They do not honor deals. They lied and kept me on the hook for my new car and then sold it right out from under me! General manager to Sales Manager to Sales Associate don’t care, are unprofessional and lack integrity. There are too many other dealerships to buy from and I recommend going anywhere else! Per the dealers absurd response below…the lies continue. I have confirmation that the car came in on June 26 and was sold on June 28 to someone else. Shame on you Gary Lang!
Doreen, There was no dishonesty. The manaufacturer pulled the vehicle you were interested in from the pipeline. Meaning the Sorento you found interest in was take out of the build process. We simply can't sell you a vehicle with that trim level that has no arrival date because it's not being produced.

READ THE FINE PRINT IN THEIR ADS BEFORE WASTING YOUR TIME I contacted Gary Lang regarding the Facebook ad shown in the pictures. This ad appears to show a 2019 Denali with an MSRP over $68K for sale for $56K. Sound to good to be true? It is...... The nearly $12K discount includes many GM rebates that you most likely will not qualify for - including one for a previous GM lease, using GM financing (at 6% interest, no less), and the GM supplier discount. I IMed, called, and texted several people at Lang trying to get them to explain what was included in the $12K discount. I never got a straight answer. The tactic of advertising the highest 'available' rebates as a discount to the advertised price is annoying at best and deceptive at worst. To their credit, they do cover themselves with the vague statement in their ad about rebates. When I see this type of deception, it makes me wonder what other types of sales practices are used at the dealership. My advice would be to make sure you understand what GM rebates and incentives are available to you before ever stepping into this dealership.
Matt, we apologize for any confusion regarding our price and rebates. The money off of MSRP includes Manufacturer rebates that everybody qualifies for and extra incentives that we put on because we are a volume dealer and can afford to do so.

My experience with Gary Lang was the excellent! I would not go anywhere else to purchase/lease a vehicle. There was absolutely no pushing me into getting a new vehicle like other dealerships. Carlos showed me multiple different vehicles that I was interested in, came back to me with certain numbers for a couple of them to see if that is what I wanted. Carlos listened to me and the features I was looking for in a vehicle, unlike other dealerships who just don't listen and come back with things you are not looking for. Gary Lang Auto group tried to charge me a $600 Doc fee when legally they were only able to charge $303.60 at the time due to state law. Be ready for a bunch of under handed business practices to try and squeeze you for as much money as they possibly can when dealing with Gary Lang Auto Group. Find a different more honest dealer.

I drove here on Tuesday, after visiting three other dealerships in the past few weeks. I live downtown, and made the trek because this dealership ranked highest in several of the dealer rating sites; over 1000 reviews and several with multiple purchases. Matt was so easy to work with--no pressure, willing to explore other options as I was undecided about color, and quite patient as I discussed the choices with my son. When I asked for a quote, he didn't play games, just gave me a good price right off the bat. Very refreshing after my experience elsewhere! We quickly had a deal. While the paperwork was being done, he helped me understand the additional options I was considering (cargo mat, a third spare key, etc) and introduced me to their parts department in case I had further needs. Since the dealership is nearly 70 miles from my house, I was trying to figure out how to pick the car up and he offered to deliver it to my house! Such a generous gesture and as an old lady, I am delighted by his kindness! I dreaded the whole dance involved in buying a new car, but Matt made it easy, comfortable and I feel quite good about the whole deal.

Took my truck in for an oil change over the summer. They didn't tighten my oil filter. Truck dumps oil on my driveway. Tightening took a complete turn. Two 10 dollar quarts of oil and a 20 dollar filter wrench later I get the oil pressure back up. Bring it in for next oil change last week. Told them the problem. They were unconcerned. Glad to charge me for the oil they spilled on the ground. 2 days later I get a replace air filter warning on my dash. 😡 I get angry driving by that place now. Paid them for me to do the work. Do you want your engine to seize up? Have it serviced at Gary Lang Chevrolet!

First off, let me start by saying I haven't been treated as bad as this dealership anywhere else. Here are my 2 cents on where you seriously need to step up your game Gary Lang. 1) If I make an appointment at 6 pm very much in advance and its confirmed, please dont make me wait till 6:30 2) Dont ask me, "Will you buy the car today" as soon as I step in. I mean I havent even seen the car let alone driven it and you're asking this dumb question. 3) I requested to see a WRX Limited and the salesman on phone said they have it. Please don't show me a WRX Base model after I waited half hour to see a Limited car 4) You said you "Don't want to put miles on the car so I can't take it out of the parking lot". That was the last straw. After everywhere you messed up you aren't even allowing me to put the car in 3rd gear. This is unacceptable. There is a very good reason I never called you back after those incessant voice mails you left me. Give me a very good reason to not detest you like this in future. I did buy a WRX Limited from a different dealership who treat their customers like they mean business and not waste of time.

Went into Kia dealership looking to purchase a used car. Salesperson greeted me as I stepped in, we sat down and then he went to check on some cars for me. While waiting for him I noticed dealership just started a morning meeting and noticed my sales guy attending that meeting while i sat and waited for him. Disappointed while waiting for him I decided to leave. I had waited for him for awhile. Not a pleasant experience this time though I have had my car serviced in the same location next door without hiccups!

Steve Steele is my service rep.(always a superb guy) and this was the 1st time I bought my 2013 GMC Yukon Denali to be worked on at your location. Every one did a great job from guys who gave me a ride to/from the facility, the mechanics and Steve. But I was a little disappointed (small matter) that personnel did reset my oil life or place reminder for when my next oil change in the corner of the windshield. As a member of the working class, to me I spent a consider about of money for my (91K mile) maintenance service. Overall the service was excellent.

Brought car in for check engine light & was told if light comes on again to bring back in. Made it to Crystal Lake light came on. Today I took it back & left car for the morning. Made it to LITH so hope problem is corrected. Was not charged the first time when I was there. Today the repair was done for stuck control valve.
