    I was initially cautious about refinancing with Freedom Mortgage. At the time of my research, the reviews and ratings were at an undesired level. Well in life, trust and taking chances go hand-in-hand for me and if I didn't take a chance on the offer from Freedom Mortgage, I would've still been at a mortgage rate/terms that was not helping me. Since I successfully refinanced with Freedom Mortgage at my desired mortgage rate/terms, I’m giving back to Freedom Mortgage with my “5-star” excellent review. I hope this review tips the scale and boosts the review numbers in a positive direction. People take time to write complaints, but rarely write a compliment when all goes well. Know that all debts are not bad debts and you have to get into debt and responsibly pay your debt to reap the benefits of an excellent credit score. This also goes along with maintaining a low debt-to-equity ratio (and avoid identity theft/fraud), making a lender worthy of my account. Thank You Freedom Mortgage and I’ll see you on the other side of full payment of my mortgage in the very near future. I also want to Thank James Harris for all of your help with my refinance.

    For a long time I have been with State Farm Bank because I had my auto loan through them and the mortgage on my home. When I had a problem with the payment not showing up I got transferred from operator to operator to dial tone. And I would get put on hold for almost an hour and they would tell me that person is not available call back later. And a day or two later I get a letter saying why haven’t you contacted us. No names no number to call when you get up finding a number on the Internet. But they said I was calling the wrong department The apartment I got only dealt with people who are going into foreclosure. I was surprised when I got a letter from Freedom Mortgage that they had bought my mortgage from State Farm. And paper in writing State Farm says we will never sell your mortgage. Apparently they never read that. But it turns out Freedom Mortgage was the best thing that ever happened to me They were able to lower the monthly payment without increasing the debt load. Add to my surprise when I sent December‘s payment to State Farm they sent it back. And I called Freedom Mortgage and they said no you don’t have to pay Decembers you start in January May yours. He would be very lucky I’m very blessed to have them on your side

    Mr. Nicholas Castro was the best, by the end of my commute to work one morning he had the ball rolling. I think him for his outstanding knowledge of VA loans.     Freedom Mortgage until we did the refi, was absolutely amazing. Then we did the refi... constantly in the first few weeks it was submit this and that, but I already had 3 other times. Then we received a 10 day comply or else and that's when the we got upset. We had to go to the loan officers supervisor to start to get an understanding and proper communication. If I had to do all over again, I would use a local company and risk losing my mortgage with Freedom.

    The rep repeatedly asked for a document from my fidelity that I could not find, even searching the entire site and speaking with a fidelity rep they confirmed there was not a document by that name (terms and conditions of withdrawl). She asked for my personal log in for fidelity so she could search the site- that is not ok and seemed very suspicious, and she did not respond to why that exact document was needed and what specific information she was looking to find from it. Luckily everything went through even without this document and another rep contacted me about approval.

    I'm a first time homeowner. My IRRL lowered my payments by almost $200/mo. Best rate among all competitors. They called me, at minimum, twice a week to give me updates even if there wasn't any change which gave me opportunities to ask any questions along the way. I never felt in the dark or left out of the process. The notary that came to my house to sign the final docs was fully aware of all that took place and able to convey every document to me and my wife in layman's terms. It was leaps and bounds of a better experience than my initial mortgage process.

    I’ve been with Freedom Mortgage for about 2 years. I have not had any problems with them at all. On the contrary, they have lowered my interest rate twice. They take care of closing costs and I did not even need to have home appraisers come to the house. The sent a notary and kept the same number of years on the mortgage just lowered the interest rate. I’m very happy with this mortgage company and will be using them to purchase a second home.

    Freedom Mortgage handled our refinancing quickly and professionally. We saved a good bit on our Monthly payment while lowering our interest rate even more! It was all done with ease by phone and email and then a couple of weeks later someone with the paperwork ready to sign spent 30 minutes at our house laying out papers to sign efficiently and we were done!

    My wife and I had a great experience refinancing our home. Our mortgage was sold to freedom mortgage and after receiving an offer with them decided to use them to refinance. The entire process took about 40 days and was stress free. Could not be more pleased with the process. Everyone was very professional. Highly recommend this company.

    I think the process would move somewhat smoother if there weren't so many different loan personal making contact, and sending emails. I think it becomes easier for things to get lost or misplaced when there are so many cooks in the kitchen!

    I refinanced my home with Freedom and it was extremely unpleasant. My initial loan officer, Courtney Farkas five months to complete a refinance which included approximately sixteen calls from me to Freedom to get an idea of where my loan was in the overall process. The communication both between myself and them is beyond poor and is no better between their internal groups. I finally cancelled the refinance and they had a gentlemen call me who squared it away within days and we closed with a lower rate. The only saving grace is the very low rate and the costs that Freedom covers so I spent no additional money and added no additional time to my loan. I would never knowingly pay out of pocket to do business with them. I'm honestly surprised they asked if I wanted to leave a Google review after filling out the scathing review I left them on their survey but oh well.

    They cant figure out how to pay my insurance company. When you call in to speak to someone your on hold for 30 mins only to be passed around department to department. If you are not a new sale for them they don't want to do a single thing for you.

    Freedom Mortgage is a legit company. that I would deal with. The staff of the company is very professional when I was transferred to this company from another loan company. A loan advisor called me and asked if I would like to refinace my current loan with them to a better apr and monthly payment. My loan advisor explained everything to me and kept in contact with me at all times. He answered all my questions and concerns. The process was exactly like how he explained it to me. Overall, I recommend this company if you are looking to finance a home or refinance a current home. Excellent service.

    This is genuinely one of the worst home refinance/streamline experiences I have ever experienced… First, I was told that the Mortgage payment was going to decrease about $260 a month. Just to find out that it was actually going to increase $250 a month if I did not refinance to the lower rate! The customer service representative could not explain to me why this was I had to do MY OWN research. Then, it took three months to close the loan. Twice my name was completely wrong. Twice! I was given guidance to sign the documents anyways, which is FRAUD and the closing agent refused to do this, justifiably. And as if that wasn’t already enough, it doesn't end there! I was then told I would have two mortgage payments deferred. At the THIRD loan closing which was delayed again for taxes, I was required to pay one of those mortgage payments, and I will not be reimbursed that money. I am truly beyond disgusted with this whole experience! I was given inconsistent information and poor guidance on multiple occasions. I would never recommend Freedom Mortgage to ANYONE. In fact I am seeking the opportunity to refinance into a conventional loan as soon as possible just so I don't have to do business with Freedom Mortgage.

    Seriously the worst customer service I have ever had. Although I got a great loan rate, it took over 6 months to close because the loan officers didn't communicate in a timely manner and errors were in the original closing documents. I was not informed on what was needed or what stage I was in during the loan process. I often had to call to get updates and it often turned out that they needed updated information since the original documents were out dated. The idea of returning messages in 24 hours is a joke, a quick response was around a 5-7 days when I reached out to them with questions or requesting status updates. Also had issues with the Title company messing up the paperwork, but of course they said it was Freedom's fault, and Freedom said it was the Title company's fault. The closing officer told me to just sign the paperwork anyways, even with errors. Um, nope. It took an additional 3.5 months just to get the closing paperwork redone and it was still wrong and not done by closing so that delayed us over an hour. Seriously, stay clear.

    I would not recommend Freedom Mortgage to finance any loan. I was told there was lien against my property which, turned out to be an issue. Freedom Mortgage should've caught when they initially funded to the loan, as this was a refinance through Freedom Mortgage. When requesting to speak with a supervisor it took 6 weeks to get ahold of one. There was language missing in my closing documents which, the Notary noticed while sitting with me for closing. This missing language cause closing to be canceled and re-scheduled. Freedom Mortgage rate lock department called and informed me the rate lock was going to expire. If I wanted to maintain the rate, I would have to pay. I would not recommend this business to anyone, STAY AWAY!!!!

    We were first time home buyers. Freedom wasn't the original company we went through, but when our loan was transferred over, a rep called and walked through everything with us.     Started loan app Nov 2020. Credit was pulled 3 times. Loan Officer went MIA for two weeks before I contacted customer service. Supervisor apologized and gave me a new loan officer. At that time new loan officer informed me my application close after 10 day. I question what happened to my previous loan officer and got no response multiple times. Here come credit pull #2. Credit report are only good for 90 day. 123 days later they called for my 1st appraisal. After appraisal and we were set to close, oh we have to pull credit report again because it expired. In this process I had 3 loan advocates. Had to send my closing documents back twice because it was inaccurate. Freedom Mortgage had my life on hold for 8 months.

    CLERICAL MISTAKE COST ME THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS I refinanced in 2020 and my paper work was messed up. They left out a portion of my insurance and I was almost dropped due to non payment. I had to make calls to have this fixed. They offered to refinance me again in 2021 no credit check or anything necessary since they had that all on file. This time they left off the same portion of insurance when doing my escrow projecting. FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR MY PAYMENTS WERE SHORT!!! This was discovered when I changed my insurance company and my escrow account when into the negative. It took me an ENTIRE MONTH to figure out what exactly happened, and at least get one customer service representative to admit this was due to a clerical error on Freedom's behalf. But it doesn't change the fact that when a bill is due they pay it. So I make a $2,000 Escrow payment to rectify the shortage, THEY DIDN'T EVEN APPLY IT TO MY SHORTAGE!!! I HAD TO CALL BACK AND ASK THEY FIX IT!! The entire time I am being blamed for " not being specific" or " Not requesting an escrow reanalysis." If I had it my way I would refinance else where but I cannot get the same interest rate at this time. I am absolutely devastated that I am now trapped in a mortgage with a company that I feel wants nothing more than my money. The worst. Also, if you look at a lot of the one star reviews it is pretty consistently because they do a poor job Refinancing peoples homes.

When I had a problem with the payment not showing up I got transferred from operator to operator to dial tone. And I would get put on hold for almost an hour and they would tell me that person is not available call back later. And a day or two later I get a letter saying why haven’t you contacted us. No names no number to call when you get up finding a number on the Internet. But they said I was calling the wrong department The apartment I got only dealt with people who are going into foreclosure. I was surprised when I got a letter from Freedom Mortgage that they had bought my mortgage from State Farm. And paper in writing State Farm says we will never sell your mortgage. Apparently they never read that. But it turns out Freedom Mortgage was the best thing that ever happened to me They were able to lower the monthly payment without increasing the debt load. Add to my surprise when I sent December‘s payment to State Farm they sent it back. And I called Freedom Mortgage and they said no you don’t have to pay Decembers you start in January May yours. He would be very lucky I’m very blessed to have them on your side

    You need to communicate with the customer better and EACH OTHER. We got no calls about the refinance but a ton asking if I wanted to refinance...really?? Totally uncalled for.. Put a note in my file or something saying I'm already refinancing. Other then that I was happy with the whole process and they saved me a ton of money.

    Freedom Mortgage offered the lowest APR for VA mortgage refinance which represents a money-saving. Their team demonstrated being knowledgeable and in overall received a professional service with every representative involved on my account; however, as a constructive critique I will say that too many individuals were involved in my application and sporadically received requests from multiple representatives for the same document(s). Also, many times documents were requested one at a time as opposed to requesting everything needed at once. Other than that, I recommend Freedom Mortgage.

    Probably one of THE MOST CONFUSING experiences we've ever had a far as home loans. Some of the items you asked for were totally ridiculous (a letter in regards to no ownership interest in a house we owned in KS more than five years ago). In addition, half the time when we called about our refinance, the person we were talking to had no idea about what was going on. Customer service was a joke. We were told by one person not to make a payment on our current loan, we were told by another that yes, we needed to continue to make payments. (This loan was also through Freedom). Such a joke!

    Freedom Mortgage has a super easy web site for making payments etc. and generally good customer service, but I had to call at least 5 times before I got someone who actually helped me with the refinance of our home. I was already a Freedom Mortgage customer and had received many other Veteran offers on refinance but wanted to stay with Freedom so I called them first. I was told that someone would call me back and week after week no one did so I would call again. Finally a rep named William, who was wonderful! - helped us. It took an excessively long time to close- almost 2 months supposedly because of the title check - AND the offer I called about said no fees and a rate of under 2%. I was told that rate is not offered in NY because it is too expensive to offer it in our state and at the closing I was a bit dismayed to see FEES rolled into our mortgage, but not wanting to hold it up further we closed on the refinance and I will be calling Freedom to find out about the fees. In general they are a good company to work with, but if a refinance offer is ever offered again, I may consider another mortgage company unless they handle my first calls much differently than they did this time.

    I had high hopes of Freedom Mortgage as I had read some good reviews. However into the process they were less than ideal. The communication was abysmal at best. My "Customer Advocate" was MIA 98% of the time. The loan officer was a fan of rounding and it only seemed to go one way, up. We made it clear from the start that we wanted to pay the closing costs up front and we had to fight to get that done by repeatedly providing the same documentation over and over. Overall I would caution people from using Freedom. If you don't mind going weeks without an update and or having to provide documentation over and over again for the same thing feel free to use them.

I got the best rate available at the time, and since then have refinanced with them several times as interest rates dropped. They’ve always been great to work with, and I appreciate that they are proactive about getting me a lower rate with minimal closing costs in the refinance, as well as making the entire process simple and convenient. With Freedom Mortgage, I feel like they are actually looking out for me and want to make sure I have no reason to go with another lender, as opposed to just wanting to make money off me.

    Our loan was sold to Freedom shortly after buying our house in 2017. Had no issues with Freedom at any point.. their website is easy to use and I pay my mortgage online every month. I never had to call Freedom for any reason or deal with their customer service. In Feb 2021, I was contacted by them offering a refinance at a lower interest rate and ability to drop PMI by converting to a conventional instead of FHA. This sounded great and we started the process. I realized at that point that the interest rates were at a historical low and I began to look around to see if I was really getting a deal. We have good credit and were able to get a much lower rate, for a shorter term, than Freedom said we qualified for with them. However once I locked the rate in with the other company, Freedom changed their tune and agreed to match it with lower closing costs (due to us already being a customer with them and they have our escrow account) so we agreed to stay with them with the matched rate, thinking it would simplify the process. Wrong. The refinance process was awful. There was no communication. No one ever contacted me for anything, when you email documents you get an auto response email saying that someone will contact you within 72 hours and they never do, I had to call them for updates constantly and every time I did I talked to a different person and it turned out they needed some additional document or something, but never bothered to reach out to me to request it. I ended up having to send the same documents multiple times. The representative always blamed the delays on being busy because "everyone wants to refinance right now with rates so low", which I understand. But that is no excuse for the complete lack of communication and messy process. And, not only that, but they contacted me to start this process! If they can't handle the workload then Freedom needs to hire more people. A refinance, especially of an existing customer, should not take 3 months. The whole process was a nightmare and I'm so glad it's over. I hope to never have to deal with their customer service again. I just want to pay my mortgage online every month and forget about it. So 3 stars I guess overall based on easy to navigate website and no other issues over the years with payments, escrow, etc... but zero stars for their terrible customer service.

    Freedom Mortgage sucks. My original mortgage company sold all of my loans to them, and I have been stuck with them ever since. I have never in my life had to work with a company that provided such bad customer service from day one, coming up on 3.5 years. Sold a home with them, refinanced one, modified one. All experiences nothing but cluster f.... from beginning to end. Worst company ever. My mission: to shut them down.

    I just streamline the refinancing of my VA loan. This experience was the easiest and most hassle free I have encountered in my years of owning homes. Freedom Mortgage was the first company I talked to, when I started the process of shopping around for refinancing and as I was searching no other company came close. Matter of fact, every other company I contacted had to match thier estimate, none could beat them. I reward straightfulness, this company gave me that from day one.     My recent experience with Freedom Mortgage was an easy process. They explained everything as things progressed and kept me informed. The online process was easy to understand and follow. Being a senior citizen, that was very important to me. This was a refinance for me to lower my payments. I had received several calls and correspondence in the past suggesting I was elligible.     The Rate of loan was great.... Freedom was already my mortgage company it should have been easy to refinance. But it took over 9 Months and I just closed. I would have been savings $689 a month. It was not because I did not qualify and it was not that I did'nt have all the documentations that they asked for. It was because of inept people working on my loan. I went through 5 different agents before closing. When you have that much time... People move on....

    I had the most amazing experience in refinancing my home with Freedom Mortgage recently. I was driving to the grocery store and got a call asking if I wanted to refinance my home. I already had a pretty good rate so it wasn't #1 on my list but I said sure, tell me about it. Long story short, I completed the entire process over the phone in less than 15 minutes, which included me pulling up to the grocery store and downloading the documents which I signed and returned to them within a couple minutes. And, my rate went from 3.2 to 2.5%. I refinanced my home, got my groceries and was back home within an hour. I've never experienced anything so easy before!

    I was contacted by Freedom Mortgage to refinance my new construction home April 14, 2021. It was canceled 3 times at the last minute due to calculation errors. One of the days I took off from work to close. I was not told what the issue was until I wrote a letter of complaint. Had FM communicated with me and given me the correct information, the issue could have been resolved quickly. It seemed like my refi was just being passed on and on. I finally closed June 30, 2021. I did not get to benefit as greatly as I wanted and I will have to refinance again probably in about 6 months to fix the problems with this loan.

    Terrible experience. My initial home loan was sold to Freedom. When interest rates dropped Freedom contacted me to take advantage of a special offer to get a lower rate on my loan. It all sounded great and Scott said I would be able to get 2,000$ cash back which I was happy about so I could do some home improvements. Well the whole process took months, I was assigned several support people who asked for documents over and over again. Throughout the documents they asked me to sign never included the correct cash amount to me, but I was just told no problem easy fix. Well they never got it right. I felt like I had no option at that point. I feel like I was provided misleading information up front just to get a sale. The only option they offered to rectify was most likely going to leave me in a worse situation. You have options, do not use Freedom Mortgage.

    The application process was fairly simple after I had initiated the request for refinancing. I had to call to find out the status of the loan approval. After that, the loan amount kept changing and getting lower than the original amount discussed with no communication as to why the amount had decreased. I had to reach out for information on that as well. The original amount discussed decreased to the bare minimum but the fees and closing cost remained the same. this was never discussed with me at all by phone or even an e-mail. I finally just accepted it because the interest rate I was getting was lower than what I had, and it would pay off the second mortgage with Discover Bank that I had. I was happy with being able to refinance at the interest rate I received, but the lack of communication was very poor customer service as far as I am concerned. I would have been completely satisfied had I not been told I could borrow one amount and wind up with $36000.00 less.
