Absolutely great experience. Not one single snag or problem during the entire loan process. The online portal was very easy to use, and simplified everything. If I had a question or sent an email, I received a response VERY promptly. GREAT experience, and I would recommend FirstBank to anyone getting a mortgage.

The mortgage team was great and very patient with us in answering our questions at various times through the process. FirstBank was extremely helpful in the entire process of getting a morgage on my new home. I was not familiar with mortgages in the slightest when I started, but Cecelia, Michelle and all the processors couldn't have been more helpful. Even when I asked the basic questions, they never made me feel silly or stupid for asking, and gave me plenty of context to help understand. I’m still in the pre-mortgage stage, but so far everything has been great. Ms. Theresa and her team communicate very well. If there is one thing I could suggest it is to have a “New buyer guide” explaining the process step by step. As a first time buyer I really have no clue what the process is or what is next. Im just doing things as they tell me to do so. It would be nice to know the whole game plan.

There was no way I was going to pass up this opportunity to write a review for Teresa Schmitt. She was a preferred lender for our builder, and we chose to go with her for the credit to go towards closing costs. This was our second home that we bought, and it was a night and day experience from our first home that we bought using the preferred lender for that builder. The first lender from our first home experience was a nightmare in every way so we were skeptical about using another preferred lender for our second home so we went into it with all the low expectations. She blew us away with how completely amazing she was! She exceeded all of our expectations. She always answered her phone when she was available, and when she was not available, she always returned our phone calls in a very timely manner, to be candid, she returned the calls either same day or the very next day. We never had to wait long at all to get a response back from Teresa. Even when no one else was available in the chain of communications during the whole homebuying process, she was the one who was always there for us to answer our questions or concerns. This was our second home that we bought and to have that kind of care and responsiveness from a mortgage lender was incredible, comforting, and gave us peace of mind because we were never left in the dark. She and her team would always send us updates on how the loan was moving and where it was at every step. The preferred lender from our first home buying experience never did that so when I received these updates from Teresa and her team, I was just very impressed and happy! As a homebuyer that aspect was the most important thing to me. The other important side of what I look for in a mortgage lender is the customer service and care. Teresa and her whole team were amazing with customer care. Teresa showed the best customer service. Not only was she professional, but she has such a caring soul that truly shines through as we worked with her on our mortgage. She goes above and beyond to make sure all of our questions and concerns were addressed, and she gave us all the time we needed. We never were rushed with our time as she committed 100% of her time to be there for us during our calls. She truly has a gift in what she does and in her job. She was always patient with us and cared for us and never made us feel like we were stupid for not understanding. She always cared and was kind and made sure we were happy before our phone calls would end. She is also a personable person and made us feel special and valued as customers when we did business with her so that we knew that we are valued for our time and trust in choosing her as our mortgage lender.
