Our re-finance experience with First State Bank of St. Charles was top rate. Mindy Primm guided us through the process and answered our questions in a timely fashion. I could not believe how easy the process was to re-finance our home.

One teller was partially rude. Seemed like I was taking time out of her own day to provide common service. I know that this bank has multiple locations. My advice would be to drive 3 mins longer and go to the 5th street location. Dont want to incovenice these tellers, God forbid they have to do their jobs.

Love this bank! I’ve been going there almost daily for 17 years and even though the employees change from time to time, they always make me feel at home and like a friend. Thank you for your wonderful service!

A wonderful team who made the process of applying, obtaining and closing our mortgage painless. They educated us every step of the way. We could not have been more pleased at the level of professionalism and service they offered.

EDIT: After this review the branch manager personally reached out to me and was dedicated to correcting the situation. He has explained the system thoroughly and addressed my concerns, and i will be staying with first state bank due to being treated like a person and not just a transaction. I have increased my rating due to their thorough follow up. I have been using this bank for around a year now, and have had a multitude of issues. They have entered the wrong account for a large cash deposit and deposited it to an employee's account, which blocked them from being able to see it. This was fixed and i received my deposit, but only after my account over drafted because the deposit wasn't entered correctly. Their app is poor and misleading, and nearly forces you to use PopMoney (a poor bill pay form that takes anywhere from 3 to 10 days to actually move your money) and then your account gets charged a 7$ fee for not using online bill pay, a fee which is never explained or brought up until it's coming out of your account. I called their customer service today which was quite poor and told that they would refund the fee once, but that i needed to set up a very specific bill pay form to avoid the fee. Unfortunately after all of their mistakes and unknown charges to my account, I've been scared off of using them all together and will be moving to a more widely used bank as this one seems too small and poorly organized for me to feel comfortable using them after a multitude of poor experiences.

Amazing bank and wonderful staff. I have 4 different business by far the best bank to visit and services switching other accounts over after being with these folks for a year now with not one single issue :)
