First National Bank North Minnesota Ave W, Walker

Just recently had First National Bank of Walker complete a commercial purchase and loan for us. Everything went very smoothly and the staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. A very professional banking experience with some hometown feel. 5 stars all around!

Account login seems down more often than it should. You need to get into your accounts.

They are all so friendly and always call you by name. This past winter I was quite ill and my boss went in to do banking for my work site and everyone was asking about me. Hometown feeling! Nothing but good results from this bank and always have time to help you out. Makes you feel welcomed.

I walked into Bank of Walker's Backus branch with a ridiculously large certified check from recently cashing out my life's savings to pay off some bills, and asked to open a checking account. They said my credit score was too poor to open a checking account. I asked the agent if my checking account was a credit account, she told me it was not. I asked the agent what difference my credit score made then, and she had no real answer, then she offered to open a useless savings account for me instead. I bid her a sharp "good day!", but I didn't really mean it at all. What I really meant was that I hoped their bank failed and the useless people that wouldn't open a simple checking account would all be out of a job. Then, a few days after the US Bank had no problem opening a checking account for me, I received a letter from Bank of Walker stating the reason they declined my request for a checking account was "A defogatory credit record" That's right, they couldn't even spell correctly on the rejection letter, further adding credence to my hunches that the Bank of Walker must be full of incompetence.

This bank has a loan person that should be fired. When someone is only 2 months behind on their house loan, they shouldn't start fore closer on their home. After they been banking with them for 15 years. So if you have any banking to do around walker, don't trust or use the first national bank of walker, they will do their best to screw you in the long run
