Worst bank ever! Staff is constantly turning over. No one stays more than a couple years. Current tellers are RUDE & have ZERO customer service skills & seem to lack personalities.They withhold funds for extensive amounts of time, even when funds were confirmed, & ask invasive questions & treat customers like criminals. The only reason I am currently a customer is because they are a local bank that bought out my previous local bank Amerina, who took ZERO bail out money in 2008.

Went to cash a check drawn on this bank and was presented with two options: I could either pay a 6 dollar fee or I could open an account and cash it, but when I close the account they charge me 50.00 for a close fee. Wonderful customer service! This is probably why I’ve never heard of this financial institution before today. Save yourself the hassle of dealing with a small town backward, small minded bank and go to Huntington across the street to be treated with dignity and respect!

Too many mistakes made by that branch. Customer service is seriously lacking. They can't seem to keep employees. 100% turnover of employees. If u want to be treated like a number instead of the person you are then by all means go there.

If I could give no stars i would. I worked and banked here, such a scam. They’re hidden charges and fees in EVERYTHING. Trust me I know from working there. Don’t go there, literally go anywhere else and if you’re looking for a banking job, don’t go there. I felt like I was back in high school with mean girls.

This place is the best! Janna stayed waaay after closing time to finish processing my car loan which was approved already. The staff is nice and caring. Thank you very much again!

Let me ask the general public, how can a bank not give a receipt when there has been a withdrawal? I go to my local branch in Michigan and withdraw $1,500.00, I don't not ever get a receipt! I can ask, beg but "NO!" receipt ever from First Merchants Bank....EVER! I have actually been labeled a "troublemaker" for asking for a receipt! Either their teller software cannot generate one or they are all fruit loop "greenies" who are into saving paper! My local Monroe Bank & Trust was taken over by First Merchants a few years back. Ever since then, I cannot get a receipt with the transaction amount shown on it. All I can get is a "balance" of what is left in my account. There will come a day when they will give me the wrong amount of money and no receipt and I will sue them in local courts if I can. I am presently looking for another local bank to do my financial transactions but First Merchants has bought up all of the competition. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH FIRST MERCHANTS BANK!

I’ve had enough and look forward to Chase! Very difficult. I love online banking but it’s restrictive. If I transfer money it is always pending for two days! Omg holidays take longer! Don’t use the atm! It’s even a longer hold. Chase (ugh chase!) atm banking is flexible! Funds availability is consistent! Transfers are immediate! Plenty of locations! And I can I have ease of access online or whatever! It’s a big deal when you’re out of town and need to reach someone- need to transfer money. And I’ve been with chase since the 80s I’ve heard all the complaints, never had a problem. Should’ve stayed there! Now we’re going back! But I wanted a place that I can grow with. I just can’t deal with the inconveniences anymore. We’re moving and I fear if something goes wrong I have to be here in person to deal with it. These little issues were okay if you were local but from the beginning it was always something. Closed accounts bc they lost paperwork! Annoying stuff.

Very impressed with this branches staff. Stacy went out of her way to check on me when my father passed a few months ago. You can imagine how grateful and appreciative this kind act made me. They remember my name and always have a smile on their faces! This is why I switched banks after many years !

This bank has a lack of communication with its customers.They like to close out your accountAnd not notify you about it..

Waited in line for 30 minutes and there were only 3 cars ahead of mine, after finally getting up to the window and it took 15 minutes to deposit A small amount of cash.
