First time buying a home so I haven't dealt with multiple lenders in my time, with that being said I never will go anywhere else. First Heritage is the BEST experience with purchasing a home. Vickie was hands down awesome! She walked us through everything and trust me I put her through calls, emails and text messages. But she was always reassuring and informative!! **Update** It has been several weeks since I made this post. An individual responded asking for me to call them so they could make this right. I did, in fact, call and had to leave a voicemail but, weeks later, still no response. This shows you the level of care they give to their customers. This shows you how they treat military veterans. Before you sign with First Heritage, shop around. You'll find better companies who are, I'm sure, more helpful. In purchasing our new home construction, First Heritage was the builder's preferred lender, and in order to receive credits towards the options we wanted in our new home, along with closing assistance, we had to use them as our mortgage institution. Their rates were higher than what we could have gotten otherwise. During the process, I had to maintain contact with, at minimum, three different people, who didn't really talk with nor pass info along to each other. It also appeared as though they weren't familiar with all of the rules. During the process, I had an outside individual review their work and found they had made several glaring errors. When we asked them to correct the mistakes, one of the agents pushed back, to the point my outside individual had to actually call her and tell her how to do her job correctly. Same agent neither listened to nor advised her clients correctly when it came to locking in our rate in a timely manner. Even when we knew the closing date, it wasn't until a week later before our rate was locked (because she was on leave and I guess no one else can do her job while she's out) with a much higher rate. That mistake cost us $40-50k over the life of our loan--that's if we were going to stay with them, but we're refinancing as soon as possible. I do not recommend First Heritage as your lending institution.

Our loan officer, Vickie, went above and beyond to walk us through the loan process, and ensure we had no surprises at our closing. She also simplified some complicated processes and overextended herself to reduce stressors on us.

My experience with FH was amazing!! They communicate very well and kept me abreast throughout my entire process. I had zero issues with the handling of my documents and explanation of information.

Keep looking!!! This lender is not it! Horrible experience as first time home buyers. Samantha and Sophia were either non responsive or didn't know the answer and had to wait for Samantha who always had an emergency more important than her clients. For an investment as big as a house, you want someone who will be able to be available to you and makes sure you understand. Closing "credit" amount they said they give- never understood where it went down to closing day. Very unprofessional. The only one who was helpful and available was Jennifer but even then there were some things she needed Samantha for and that waiting game was not fun.

Samantha, Sophia, and Jennifer were great throughout the entire process! They were all ever knowledgeable and very responsive! Everything was smooth and I was updated on the status of my loan at each milestone. It was the best of my three house buying experiences by far, because of Samantha and her team! Thank you all!
