First Entertainment Credit Union Reviews

This is not in reference specifically to this branch, however there is no other way I see to leave a review of First Entertainment. This is the absolute worst bank I have ever had. The customer service is nonexistent, (though I have had some positive interactions of course, far more negative experiences with associates) - the app is terrible and the fees are astronomical. They charge more in fees than Bank of America, Wells Fargo, etc. - Do not join this “credit union”.

Don’t get a loan or credit card with them the ability to pay from an outside vendor is nonexistent. They are aware that they put you in a call loop were they have to transfer you to card services, where they Tell you to make that payment you need to Contact first entertainment and first entertainment says they have no ability to do anything but transfer me the card services a.k.a. the call loop

You guys need to update your hours online. I showed up yesterday at 5:00pm thinking you closed at 6:00 as it shows online. We were refused service. There was 3 people outside that didn’t get attended. Please make sure to update it and get better staff than can explain and not hide behind the counter. Thank you

**Unfortunately I do not recommend this credit union** Reasons: They DO NOT refinance their own loans. They do not go out of their way to help you or make any flexibility in an event of hardship that you may have when it comes to making a payment whether of your on time payment history. My husband regrets ever giving them business.

I was a member here 20+ years ago when I started in the entertainment industry, and let my membership lapse when I left several years later. Back in now, and need a CU membership to do direct deposit, so out of the dozen choices CBS offers, FECU was one of the choices, so it made sense to reopen with them. BAD DECISION, the account opening process has been a total nightmare, starting with online issues trying to navigate the startup, to misinformation from branch representatives regarding what info I would receive via email to complete the process, (Nothing ever came), to having to call yet again to find out what the status of my application is here a week later, and being put though to the voicemail for a new account manager where I left a message. Got a call back hours later and couldn't answer the phone, called the number right back and it was the generic number for the branch, not even the direct number for the representative. NEVER GOT A SECOND CALL, EITHER. I already work a ton of hours, I need to deal with a bank that can operate efficiently and smoothly, FECU obviously doesn't run that way, and so, like the other reviewer here, I will take my business elsewhere, where my membership is valued.
Hi Cali. I'm sorry to hear about your experience. If we can identify your account, we can have someone reach out directly to the contact info we have on file. Could you please send a private message with the full name associated with your account?

I work in the entertainment industry and heard mixed reviews about this CU, but I figured hey they work with our people so might as well give them a shot. First Entertainment wasted an entire week of my time. I applied online for an account, and went back and forth with Carlos all week because of some issue with my address. After a whole week of discussion he tells me I now how to physically come in to open an account, which is super inconvenient since they only have one location open to the public. I ask if there's any other options and this guy just stops responding completely. No class and totally unprofessional, don't bother with these guys and go to Logix or USC

I will have to say my first encounter was a positive one. Today I opened 3 accounts. Although the branch is shoebox small, it is big in character. I absolutely love the colors and the design of the logo. The employees were helpfully pleasant. The manager that open my accounts was extremely helpful in evaluating my credit report and directing me as to ways to heighten scores to open lines of credit. I'm specifically looking to a business line of credit as I have multiple business endeavors. That being said, what's most important to me is it a personable relationship with my financial institution. I have an expectation of people remembering who I am and greeting me by name and having the "what can I do to help you" attitude. After all it is my money that basically is stored in the financial institution and that's how they make their money. A banking relationship can be a great asset if the bank is really a partner
Hi Constance. Thanks for the kind review!

I have been a member for over 20 years. I went to the branch today to open up a business account. As I was wanting I had the urge to go to the bathroom (which was ten ft way). Torian Younger stood up and stated that restroom is not for customers. I said sir, I just need 1 min and I am opening a new account. He said I don't care who you are,, you are not using our restroom. I exited the bank, with customers looking in horror as well as the very nice security guard. I went to the Forest Lawn Bank to remove all my bank accounts. Very disappointed that someone can get away with being abusive to a long time customer. Chuck LaBella Vice President Talent Relation's NBC.. I too work with people on a daily basis, I am in the people business. I would fire this guy Torian Younger immediately,

NOT A FRIEND TO THE COMMUNITY. I'm not a customer (though I am in the market). I am a local community member. I was stranded with perishable groceries, and the staff at this branch would not allow me to use their wall outfit for the purpose of turning my phone on to call a Lyft. Fortunately, I was able to go to the realty company next door, where they let me use their lobby for what was less than a minute. As someone who has lived in the neighborhood for 25 years and is currently seeking a credit union, I know that this one will not be under my consideration.

I’ve been a member for over a decade now. In that time I’ve had accounts with a couple other banks and FirstEnt is the only one that I use today. This is a testament to the great service.
