First Bank of Alabama North St, Talladega

Was attempting to open an online account, uploaded all documentation, setup for transfer of funds and, after 4 days, received nothing from them. Asked them to cancel my "application" via 3 emails and 2 phone calls. No less than 20 or 30 rings for someone to answer the phone. Just not what I expected in a local bank. Update... received a call from a key management member, apologizing for this service. Seems COVID is impacting their operations significantly and this is a new service offering for their online banking services. Have updated my review score to reflect this "middle of the road" rating. Will consider doing business with them down the road, at which time I hope to return and provide a more positive review.

First off , what kind of bank isn't open atleast till noon on a Saturday. Some people can't make it to the bank during the week days. Secondly they I haven't received a statement since I opened my account over 6 months ago. Edit 9/13 /19 my check was deposited into someone else's account this was the first time I caught this but it leads me to believe this isn't the first time this has happened to me I was just lucky enough to catch it. I am upset more than words can describe for this negligence, this is my livelyhood and because of someone else's carelessness I will suffer.

I love this bank! We banked with another bank for 6 years and had all kinds of issues. But so far it's been an amazing experience.

Trash Community bank. Trashy Attitudes as well. Just Trash.

I've been banking there for a long time

I'm a 30+ year customer. This review is regarding my personal experience throughout those years. I'm, by no means, the Banks largest depositor and I own no stock in the bank. Although the bank is "home owned" they're subject to banking regulations and audits the same as other Banks. From the first day of becoming a customer, when they were Talladega National, to First National, to First Alabama of Talladega, I've been treated more than fair and with compassion when I've had hard times. They've helped me the same in good and bad times. I don't think you could ask for much else.

My brother has a small loan on a rental house (60% loan to value ratio) and is CURRENT on his payments. Well he died suddenly last Friday. We buried him on Sunday. This morning (Tuesday) we get a call that the bank is moving to foreclose on the loan since "he's not able to pay." No discussion about what the family will be willing to do. I think the reason is the 40% equity in the home. What do you think? Please tell ALL of your family and friends to NEVER use this bank.
