Working with Fairway and Jeremy was a good experience up until we bought our home and made the first payment to Fairway. After that, our loan was sold to Flagstar Bank (a little jarring and unexpected). We now understand that lenders selling loans is common and we're pretty sure that there are new laws protecting us from the troubles of 2008, however, we would have liked to know this was coming and not felt like we were just another sale (we really appreciated having a lender on our side who took our calls and answered all our first-time-buyer questions and did it all with a personal touch). But at the end of the day, it was a sale, and we wish that wasn't the case. Regardless of whether this was in the fine print or is standard practice, we would like to challenge lenders to change their ways and stick with their customers over making an extra buck. These kinds of relationships matter to people like us. With that said, if you want a friendly and helpful salesperson to help you lock in a great rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage, and don't mind who handles your loan after the sale, then I would highly recommend this company.
