Alex Austin is a great mortgage broker, he got me a good deal on rate and was available throughout the process to ensure closing on time despite back and forth with lender.

We got preapproval quickly, and had 50 days to close. We were assured multiple times that everything was good. Then it all went downhill. The underwriter asked for 3 pages worth of documentation AFTER our due diligence period was OVER (bulleted list single spaced) and kept adding new "conditions" every day from that point. We have had to correct the math several times, explain how K-1s work, and repeatedly correct them on the facts that have been provided multiple times. We are now one day from closing and received new conditions last night. I'm waiting to hear back about whether we even have a loan for tomorrow and what the exact downpayment will be (they can't calculate that yet for some reason). And I can't get anyone to answer the phone..... UPDATE management responded that they're remedying it, but I still haven't heard anything from anyone
