The store is clean, the young Latino man behind the counter is very nice and willing to help. However, the older gentleman who owns the store is very rude. Sometimes old people are just rude and crotchety but he acts that way towards employees and customers alike. I think that he’s never been forced to show respect towards the other side and somehow sees it as beneath him. The young couple who owns the store are not the nicest folk and they are very inquisitive about where people got their things which is understandable, however they end up treating the customer very poorly. I just don’t feel welcomed at all in there.

Not sure if they are going out of business. I have on the area and have gone there quite a bit in past years. Seems things are going downhill. I have bought stuff, even picked one up on layway. I was going to leave a rather angry review. Especially after talking to the other shop owners in the area. Everyone has bad days so I figured I would make this fair. Even update it if needed. Apparently it is not common or okay to not say so much as hello when coming into a place nor the first thing being said is "what do you want". I was looking for some movies but I didn't want to get worse treatment if I didn't find what I wanted. Not sure if being dressed working class counter culture (goth) had anything to do with it. Or they were just having a very horrible and very busy day. Still I was not really greeted, or allowed in the store... or treated like they needed any more business ,period. Not sure if they are going out of business and wrapping thing up or what. Still I hope things improve soon so I can actually shop there again. Edit : A note on the door saying something like "We are swamped, and unless someone has preexisting business transactions or specific reason to come in, they should come back another time" would have been observed and welcome. It feels way to personal that the first time I came in after the security box that caught me off guard as I didn't see it till coming dressed against the advers weather. At that point they were short with me. Then next time I come in making sure they could see my face and easily identify me I didn't even make it in the place.

There were 4 employees there and not one of them had a smile on their face. The guy that "helped" me didn't even look me in the eye when I was talking to him. They were even rude to the guy in front of me who was trying to pay with his card but they acted irritated telling him they only accept cash. Anyways, I wanted to sell a couple items and he immediately implied that I had stolen them. He didn't come out and say that, but the questions he asked implied right away that I had stolen them after I uttered my first words. And I understand he's got to watch out for that stuff, but there was NO REASON to be rude about it like he was. So I walked out, looked up the next closest shop on my phone and so I headed over to the pawn shop on central just a couple streets over below mission. THEY on the other hand were completely laid back, 4 out of the 5 employees had a smile on their face and were actually NICE to me. I not only sold my items at a fair price, but the process was easy and laid back. For THIS shop anyways, I would never recommend a friend to go there and I surely won't go back.

The tall white guy and one of the white women were very rude and uppity acting (there were 4 employees there). I didn't like their attitudes towards me and nobody had a smile on their face except for the young latino guy, he was cool and friendly. They sized me up and i felt offended by it, and how they treated me. I will never go back or buy anything from them. But the store was very open aired, brightly lit up, and organized.

You are a criminal as soon as you walk through the door. My wife went just now to see what she could get as a loan on her ring that’s been passed down In her family for years & the employee instantly said the ring looked like “an old lady ring” and asked if it was stolen even though she had appraisal paper work with proof of ownership. We read the horrible reviews before going here but we have it the benefit of the doubt & the negative reviews are spot on! If you want to be disrespected and to be treated as a second class citizen by all means go here. This business is not only unfriendly, unprofessional and disrespectful but it screams RACIST as soon as you walk in. Disgusting

Wonderful people, no pressure, tons of information to be helpful for your big decision. Also they clean every year the jewelry you buy for you, and any stones get lost they help replace.

I bought a pretty much brand new impact drill here ... came with box and instructions . (The person in charge doesn’t seem to accept just any junk from what I saw) place is super organized, they help you out pretty fast , the older guy should stay in the back (I’m assuming he owns the place) he doesn’t have people skills and speaks in a condescending way . I would have given the place 1 star but the other people were actually very friendly and it completely made up for it. So if you’re looking to buy tools , instruments, cameras or anything else then this place is sure to sell you something that will actually work when you get home and the prices are pretty good .

I don't know what all the fuss is about, I love this store. It's wide open and beautiful. They have lots of great deals on jewelry and have a ton of different merchandise. I've had specialty jobs done here and always leave satisfied. The employees have always been great to me. Just an overall happy experience being a long time shopper here. Will continue to do business here and bring potentially new customers with me.

Let me explain this, the rest of the staff... 5 stars, absolutely. SHE behind the counter however (didn't catch her name), less than one. I showed up on a carbon mountain bike worth more than some people's cars and she was going to force me to leave it outside, with the tweakers of Ontario, with nowhere to lock it, when I was going to be in and out within two minutes. The GoPro on the front of my bike was recording the whole time and I wish I could post the video. This is the ONLY business I have EVER been to telling me I had to do so, including multiple other pawn shops. Has from what I can quickly tell, an attitude problem and lacks customer service for someone actually there to purchase product. Still even had that "tone of voice" towards me while I was inside. Again, the other people that helped... Fantastic. She however, deserves a job at Taco Bell up the street.

Great experience! I have always been leery of using a pawn shop, but these people are professional and offered a great rate. I was amazed at how little I have to pay on my loan. On a side note, place has plenty of cool, 'one-of-a-kind' items displayed... Would be a great place for a unique gift.
