I was swimming up stream without a life jacket. Here I was power of attorney for my cousin since 2017 with an agreement to help here stay safe n her own home. Over time I noticed she was developing memory issues. Soon afterwards she was diagnosed with dementia/Alzheimer’s. By 2020 she was unable to drive without getting confused. She stopped cooking and was unable to grocery shop on her own. After looking into in-house care and finding the cost prohibitive. I , neighbors and friends because her support system. She did not qualify for Medicaid although her only source of income was SSA. She did own her own home and in order to pay her taxes a certain amount of money had to be maintained. Finally the day came when she became dehydrated and we had to break into the house to discover her on the floor unable to get up. It had become obvious that she was unable to stay in her house alone anymore. After contacting A Place for Mom who made recommendations for a Memory Care Facility. I was at a lost to know how this could happen with her limited income. We knew we had to sell the house to get the money to pay for her care. We were introduced to Elderlife to apply for a bridge Loan. The loan was to provide funding to secure a place in the facility we chose until the house was sold and then you had funds to pay off the loan and cover her cost in the Memory Care Unit. Elderlife was a god send. Such professional staff. They guided me through the whole process. And were helpful when I hit snags. The compassion I was shown at this highly stressful time was needed. I was walk through every step and my Bridge loan was approved quickly. My cousin will be in her new living situation shortly and we can move on with the sale of the house. I highly recommend Elderlife Financial if after reading this you find yourself in a similar situation.

I had a most professional and pleasant experience securing a bridge loan for Betty Walton. Scott Trello was extremely helpful in discussing all the options obstacles of obtaining the loan. During the process I sensed no pressure only confidence in the decisions.

Company is misleading in the services that they offer to families, in addition to charging the borrower a fee they also charge the accepting facility a fee. The do not do due diligence in communicating to the borrower that the approval depends on the lenders relationship with the accepting facility and that funds will not be disbursed if they are not able to charge both the borrower and the facility for their services.

Elder Life was a very easy company to work with we supplied all the documents they asked for and once they got those the loan was approved and we could get money the same day. They were a big help to my parents Thanks elderlife

Very easy to work with. Bob Reuter was very patient and delivered great customer service. I would recommend them.

It took a while to get closure on our account, after being told a few different times that our account was paid in full. We continued to receive payoff letters, but fortunately, customer service representative, Sherman, was able to assist. I *think* our account has been finally, officially closed... Keeping this review here as proof in case it comes up again. Thanks to Sherman for swiftly and (hopefully) taking care of this.
