Excellent buying experience. I special ordered a truck from Cody Suhr. He was up-front and honest from the beginning, provided weekly updates on where the truck was at in the build process, and made everything incredibly easy when the truck arrived. Add in no pressure and follow-up phone calls just to see how everything was going and if I had any questions and you have a great experience.

The staff was amazing and had great communication! We drove three hours to check out a vehicle! They were all ready for us, when we showed up 20 minutes early! The vehicle was in pristine condition! Very relaxed environment! And even had cool music playing in the lobby! We ended up buying the vehicle! Kudos to the staff at Dan Deery Motor! We highly recommend them!!!

My son got in an accident and totaled his Jeep - I contacted the dealership to see if they had anything to replace it. At the time, they did not. They told me they’d call if they found something, about an hour later they let me know EXACTLY what I was looking for had come in. I met with Max Shower and he was able to answer all my questions, talk about options and we were in the Jeep. Since it was just me, I had no way to get two vehicles home - Max brought the Jeep to the house the next day for me. Memo was amazing at talking over warranty information and my financing options. I had a great experience and thankful for it after the long week of dealing with the car accident, replacing the Jeep was the easiest part! Highly recommend Max - he was great.

Worked with Dino, who was professional and helped me get into a car that I enjoy. As a first time car buyer I was very impressed at what he was able to do for me. We went through a few vehicles that weren’t up to what I needed but he was patient and tried until we got into the right one. He even stayed after the dealership closed on a Friday night so we could finalize the deal. Everyone we worked with was friendly and hospitable. The only downside I had was one of the vehicles that we test drove had just arrived to the dealership and hadn’t been serviced or cleaned (extremely gross). He said don’t worry if I like the car he will get it cleaned before I leave, however when we got onto the interstate the transmission slipped terribly and wouldn’t accelerate. When we returned to the dealership he put it into the back lot and notified the boss.

Jon Jordan was really nice, but I've done 2 separate referrals to Dan Deery, both times I was with the buyers throughout the whole process. They have a referral program that was just explained to me that if I sat with the buyer throughout the whole sale that I would receive $200. The second time I found a car on their website for a friend, we went in early March to test drive and my friend signed the paperwork that night. I JUST now got the referral check and it was only for $100 but the referral program was explained to me that if I sat with the person who was buying, that it would be $200. This isn't a huge deal, but when I asked about it the salesperson that gave me the check told me that they had to fight to even get me the $100. I'm currently contemplating contacting the better business bureau just out of principle alone. Long story short, don't refer friends here, they will fight to not give you the promised referral money tooth and nail. Avoid this dealership all together to be honest.

We had a very good experience purchasing our used 2014 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon from Dan Deery! We decided to travel over an hour from our home to look at their selection due to an usually high number of used inventory! We also knew that they would have very competitive pricing from the online research we did. We met Dino at the door and he took our information and got to know us and our preferences and had several vehicles to look at right away. We drove a 2020 Wrangler and they, by far, had the best pricing for that model year, trim package, and mileage that we had seen yet! But we just weren't quite happy with the look. They informed us of a trade in that would be coming a week later that would likely fit our needs! And did it ever! They sent us pictures by text and stayed in communication when the jeep would be arriving! We made the trip back to the dealership the day the jeep arrived and it met every expectation! Including price point when compared to the many jeeps we had already research all over Eastern Iowa and on the internet. Needless to say, we agreed to a deal and we are extremely happy with our purchase! Dino was really great through the process and was very knowledgeable on the mechanical aspects of the vehicle. He was very humorous and enjoyable to engage with. He worked extra late on a night he usually has off to make sure we were happy with everything! We would recommend Dan Deery to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle at this time. No doubt they price as competitive as anyone and their customer service was top notch!!

Went in for an oil change under a warranty we purchased from a Dodge Dealer in AZ. These did quick work and accepted the amount they paid as payment in full. No out of pocket. That really helped us out after a bad experience with our mover and being charged more than expected.

Inquired about purchasing a 2020 GMC Sierra Denali. Got everything lined up with the salesman to come purchase it this Friday evening or Saturday. Got the pre approved credit application process submitted and ready. I received a call from there sales manager saying they won't sell me it anymore unless I traded in my vehicle. I told them I don't want to trade it in and will purchase the truck without a trade. Manager in a rude tone of voice to say can't do business with me without a trade. I told him I'll go buy another truck from another dealership that's more friendly. I'm aware inventory is short and trades would be ideal for the dealership, however I was never informed before hand that I couldn't buy the truck without a trade. Unprofessional business operations here at this dealership.

Jeff, Jamie and Dylan were great. I have bought 4 vehicles from them in the last 5 years. Made the mistake of looking around at a few other dealerships and the service was no where near Deery's.

Max was amazing. I will tell everyone that looking for a new car to get a hold of him. We were looking at a jeep and my payments were hiring then I wanted so he went out of his way to find me a jeep that the payments were good for me.

Buying the car was easy, any interaction we had with them afterwards we had to hold their hand the whole time (calling, stopping in, etc.) To make sure they were doing their job. If you want the dealership to have any accountability with anything at all after you sign your sales agreement, don't buy from Dan deery.

Dino was great to work with in getting our family a new vehicle. We live in Des Moines and had to do some initial communication via text and email. He was prompt and responsive. Dino is also down to earth and a straight shooter. They don’t call him “get it done Dino” for no reason!

Bought a 2015 Ram 1500 from them. They did not have the correct mileage listed, truck was not inspected. Battery died the day after I bought it they replaced it. Then the rear driver side break exploded. Damaging the ABS, Ebrake, and Rear Axle. Total cost of damages 2.2k. Told them not to have it brought out to the Waterloo dealership unless they were gonna fix it for free. Had it towed from Cedar Rapids to waterloo, they did an inspection, decided not to fix it for free. Now my truck is stuck in waterloo. Edit: Dealership ended up workin with me on this. Part of this deal is taking responsibility for buying as is and not opting into the warranty. Wheras I am have now confirmed that this dealer did not inspect this vehicle, they did knock 1.5k off the price to repair. 700 is still a steep repair bill but at least they tried to do right by me. Trying is better than just ignoring me and so far it seems like they did a fine job repairing the truck. I'll know after I get it looked at by a 3rd party. I should mention, the shop didn't do an inspection post repairs. So do with this what you will.

Both were very good in walking me through the process and answered all the questions concerning the deal and vehicle. When I arrived vehicle was just as they had stated no surprises. I want to start off by saying i absolutely hate leaving bad reviews, id almost rather not leave one than to leave a bad one but i am beyond frustrated with this location. I’ve taken my business to them 2x and both times my vehicle was misdisagnosed. The first time i was having starter issues, after paying $400 to have it fixed it…15 minutes after leaving the dealership it still is having the same issues. Smh had to pay another diagnosis fee plus 300 more dollars to fix something they missed! The second time around i took it in because the Heat went out, i specifically asked them to make sure they look it over thoroughly because of my experience previously. I got quoted a price of $440, picked it up and they tried to charge me a extra 100 dollars, i got them to fix it because id recorded the phone conversation and had proof of what i was quoted. Left with my vehicle, only to find out the issue was NOT fixed. Now they're trying to tell me i have to pay an additional diagnosis fee if they look at it again. Im frustrated beyond belief because what is the point of a diagnosis if theyre not finding the real issue and correcting it i feel robbed. You'd think this being the dealership someone wouldn't have to deal with these type of issues, its the main reason i came to them. Im always willing to pay the little extra for quality vs convenience but at this point i feel like damn if i do damn if i dont.

Awesome dealership. Salesmen are very knowledgeable and will ask for the sale in a no pressure manner. No hidden fees at all. The purchase invoice is what you pay to walk out the door. They did offer an extended warranty but dropped it after I gave the first no. This is how car buying should be. Would highly recommend to anyone buying in the Iowa area

Had a great salesman. After that the service department has been terrible. I Let the first experience slide and made the mistake of taking truck back there. 13,000 miles on a ram 2500. Waited 4 weeks to get a power steering pump to get here and installed witch is fine I get times are crazy. The thing is the power steering pump didn't fix my truck, now it needs a power steering gear box with is also on back order. Communication has been terrible through the whole situation. I will never do business with them again. I will drive 45 minutes to independence or Waverly. Waverly was great at fixing the first problem Derry missed.

This dealership is first class all the way. They had Charlie picked me up from the airport in Cedars Rapid and drive over 50 miles to the dealership in Waterloo. Charlie was great and so pleasant to hang out with. He also drove me back to the airport. What a great guy. Thank you for the Cookie. Great dealership. The one down fall was my sale person promised they would vacuum and clean the interior portion of my car. When I purchased the vehicle the car was filthy inside. I actually found a few items from the previous owner, therefore I know it was not cleaned. I had to go out and get the back detailed as well after purchasing due to the amount of dog hair left behind. I was also told I would receive a second key phob. The sales person told me she would contact the previous owner about that, and I have had the car over a week and have not heard anything about the key phob.

Awesome experience, went exceptionally fast so not alot of waiting. Deno is a great personable salesman that made the experience comfortable and relaxing. Highly recommend looking him up if your in the market for a new vehicle.

Brian is a con artist and sold me a piece of s*** car for far more than the value of it. He made it sound like the problem was spark plugs but it was something that cost me 2,500 to fix. I do not recommend buying from this guy or the company he works for.

Worst dealership around here. Sold me a vehicle with a cracked drive shaft, bad key cylinder and currently a few months down the road it's misfiring. This vehicle was not road worthy when sold and was a hazard to my safety. Dealership insists that i have to deal with it because I signed the paperwork. I get it but when my safety is at risk and the salesman insists that we have to take the mid speed back roads for the test drive to cover up the violent shaking at 65+mpr. Im out $10k plus the parts i had to cover up until the misfire. Dealership is not willing to talk about the issue outside of saying they are not responsible for the condition of the vehicle. Never again

As always, when buying a used car, I'm a bit leery working with used car sales people. I've been lied to by a few of them in the past. I just don't like all the sales tactics that some of them use. When I went into Dan Deery I had my guard up and was ready to leave without buying a car if anything smelled fishy. But they turned out to be straight forward with me and came down to my second offer price. I only paid a couple hundred dollars over KBB's private party sale price. In my experience used car dealerships price their cars a lot more than the private party price and won't come down anywhere near it. I could tell they understood that I had been burned on deals at other places in the past and they were determined to show me that not all car sales people are just out to make a quick buck at my expense. I was pleasantly surprised to find a good car at the price I wanted to pay at a dealership. I'm sure we'll go back to Dan Deery, in Waterloo, in the future when we need another car.

This is our second time in to work with the salesman Zach Bruns. Once for a brand new Jeep which him and the finance team worked awesome with us bringing our own check from our own financing, in and out within half hour no hassle. Then today we did a trade and once again no hassle, kept to the budget and didn't push me out of it and also let the bank make the real decisions without guessing and playing the back and forth game.

After looking for months, I finally found the perfect Jeep Cherokee. I called the dealership hours ahead of time, I’m hopes they would have it ready. They were surprised when we arrived. It was a trade in, not clean yet and nearly no fuel. The salesman treated me as if I were an inconvenience to him on a Saturday afternoon. One paperwork was under way, I asked about having it cleaned and some fuel, he told me that wasn’t something they provided.

Vicky was very helpful with finding me that car that I wanted! Taking all of the amentities that I wanted and making sure I walked away happy!

!UPDATE! the dealership now refuses to stand behind the warranty that they sold me void. I bought a 2013 ford focus ST about 6.5 weeks ago. I had to take the car in because after a week of driving it the rear main seal was bad and the car was losing 1qt of oil an hour according to the dealership. My car has been at the dealership service center in the cage for almost 5 weeks and has not been worked on let alone moved. the worst part is that they have had the parts for 3 weeks now. I have called every week on wed. since I dropped my car off to no avail. my salesperson Banning was amazing in helping me find the car I wanted its just very unfortunate the service team is dropping the ball. 5 star for banning, 1 star for service. update: It has been about 7.5 weeks now since I have had my car. the service center still does not have the proper tools to do the job and has pushed it back yet again after saying all I needed to do was source my own clutch plate, pressure plate, and flywheel and they can put it back together right away. I had plans to take my car out of town but that will no longer be possible.

Poor service. Dishonesty. Took my vehicle in for repair. Called 6 days later to see if it was done and they didn’t know because the guy in charge moved to New Mexico that weekend. Waited two days for the manager Justin to call me back after Calling daily and leaving my best form of contact. Needed my okay to proceed. Ordered part and told me it would be done a week later. Called 6 days later to confirm pick up and they said part was delayed (never called to notify me part delayed 9 days) part was put in but didn’t work so it was taken out. I called to confirm pickup again and they get back to me three days later and say they have it scheduled to work on 7 days later!! It was there a total of 33 Day!! Never once did they offer a vehicle to borrow and when I asked the next one they could lend was 14 days out! Also at pickup I asked if the bill was correct and the manger nodded yes it is. I then inquired about the diagnostic price and he said “oh yes that doesn’t look right” took it back to his office and rewrote the bill. Van runs thankfully but the service park and engine light have already come on within the day! The repairs make me so nervous in that they I believe will be temporary fixes.

Nadia explained everything so I could understand the whole process. Great service would definitely buy another vehicle from them.
