Community Choice Credit Union Northwestern Hwy, Farmington Hills

I had a consumer loan, checking, and savings account through Community Choice Credit Union. I also refinanced a relatively large credit card debt via a fixed rate term loan that had a very competitive rate. My experience has been that customer service is really strong in several departments. For example, when I had difficulty making payments on my loan payment the specialists there worked to create a workable solution that allowed me to pay the loan off. Most recently I dealt with a specialist that works in the credit reporting sphere of Community Choice where she listened to understand my concern and then took action to resolve it. I’ve received really good service from multiple departments through the years at this company. If there were any areas of improvement I’d say it would have to be the bill payment service - reason for the 4 stars. I thought bill pay was a really quirky system. It sometimes had inconsistent log ins and on occasion I had payments sent to creditors much later than anticipated. I presently don’t utilize bill pay but think it is a service that would be more beneficial if it migrated to a digital and electronic platform like some other financial institutions. I’m speaking only from experience with Community Choice Credit Union bill pay system from almost fifteen years ago. So their system could have improved. Overall, I’d say this is a good credit union that seeks to create solutions that are a win-win for their members.

My husband and I applied for a Equity Loan. Your associates, Anna, Grace and Rachel they the best. Those ladies went above and beyond to accommodate us while the the other said lenders were no help at all to either us or Community Choice in providing the necessary and essential information that was needed to acquire the loan. So in short, with the loan department’s ladies in which I have now nicknamed them the Three Musketeers. Our thanks and gratitude from us to them. This community choice branch is the best! When I met my fiancé we had to choose which of us would be leaving our bank and joining the others. And I chose to leave mine and join community choice. Mostly bc of Christie! She has been taking care of my fiancés banking needs for years and she is amazing! He said as long as she works there he’ll never leave and now I feel the same way! I would not recommend this place I take money out of one account to put into this one to pay my truck loan and they charge me to make a payment through their own bank.. this place is a joke

My wife and I are thrilled to write a review regarding our recent experience with Community Choice Home Equity(HE) Department at the Farmington Hills location. We have been members for over two decades and this was the first time we inquired about any type of loan. Our initial interaction was with Keri F., she was awesome, she took the time to answer all of our questions and provided excellent customer service. After our interaction with Keri, we were connected with the other amazing individuals in the HE Processing department: Amanda, Rachel and Grace. The level of attention to detail as well as the consistent follow-up was truly refreshing. The saying is you never get a second chance to make a first impression, well for the HE Processing department their first impression was honestly second to none. Our finalization for our HELOC was conducted at our local branch in Redford and that experience also was fanastic!

Had one of the best customer service experiences I've had since the pandemic started. Renee was super super helpful. Explained everything in depth and went above and beyond for me.

I had an overdraft on my business account due to slow service. I was not aware because I was using my personal account. I tried to use my personal debit card and it was declined. They also closed my credit card which is under my personal account not my business name. I decide to close my personal account to take business elsewhere. Ask questions before opening an account.

I just opened up my accounts today and cannot recommend Community Choice (shout out to Christie on Orchard Lake!) enough. If you are looking for a personable, local bank/credit union that actually has decent savings rates, look no further. Also, they're dog friendly and urged me to bring in my little one!

Christie was AMAZING! She answered all of my questions! It felt like I was talking to a friend about financial advice, yet remained professional. The ATM machine at the Northwester location is broke or something doesn’t work every other time I try to use this location ATM, it is the closest ATM to my location in Farmington Hills. They need to install an ATM that works.

Every time I walk in the community choice bank in Farmington hills I am greeted with a huge smile. I feel like I’m not going to a bank i feel like I’m going to see a great friend. I have opened, Closed & added accounts at this branch with no problem. I have always been treated so good from the staff there. One of the best people that i have had the pleasure to work with is Christie Cannon. Without a doubt one of the best and kindest people i have had to work with. She always asks about the family and will take just a little time to make you feel right at home even if your in a bank.. I will never go to a different bank and if she left i would follow…

Megan helped me open a new account today and she was wonderful. Very patient and understanding. Megan was also very informative. I felt like a real part of the family after finishing. I think I made a great choice. They have so many options and it’s nice they take the time to find out which one is best for you. For two years I had no major problems with this company however since towards the end of last year I have had nothing but problems! Due to covid lay offs and illnesses I got behind on my auto loan and I decided to voluntary let the vehicle go back. I told the lady that kept reaching out to me about being past due my decision and she ignored it. I started to feel harassed as I was getting calls and emails almost daily. I responded telling her yet AGAIN I was not making any payments until they picked it up, auctioned it and gave me my payoff amount. Once it finally went to auction and sold I watched my online account for my amount to update. When it did I made a $10 payment as I emailed them and said I would. The next month I went to pay again and it was taken off my account so I reached back out to see how to make a payment and was told to call in and make a payment. I informed them I would not be calling and making a payment until I had an account number to pay on so I would know my money was going where it should be. I was told I get a delinquency paper in the mail. Here I am 2 weeks from being told this still waiting for the paper in the mail, have reached out to inform I have not gotten it yet and asked to have it emailed to me due to all the mail issues lately and I was told it's not allowed. I feel as if I am being strung along and in turn it's taking even longer to be able to rebuild my credit! If you're not local to them and have to do all your managing through the internet and emails I highly advise avoiding CCCU.

Community Choice Credit Union has been my family's go-to financial institution ever since they moved into SE Michigan. I had pretty much shrugged at the idea that you'd find notably exceptional service anywhere. But after hearing/seeing how my family members were treated at CCCU, I decided to open an account. My high-tech family members love the ease of switching between accounts securely online. I do not love that. I love the fact that a human being will be there to patiently and intelligently address questions and concerns-- a shout-out of gratitude to Christie at the Farmington Hills branch who goes out of her way to meet you at your level of comfort tech-wise and offers solutions and workarounds that put you at ease, whether it's a business account or a plain old personal savings account.

Cedric Brown in lending is extremely professional and polite. I’ve worked with him twice. Both times he wished me a happy birthday and took as much time as I wanted to thoroughly answer my questions. He has a way to make you feel welcomed and valued. I have only had pleasant experiences with everyone at this company.

We made the HUGE decision to leave our past bank and move to Community Choice Credit Union based on an auto loan we initially financed through them. Danielle Grinnel walked us through EVERY step of the process, and was SO patient and was able to answer every single question we threw at her. She was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and completely straightforward with us. I would recommend not only this credit union, but the staff at the 23 mile road location as well. If you are thinking about switching banks, this is your answer!

Sedrick was more than helpful in answering all the question I had regarding my account and about tips and trick for me to be able to boost my credit score. He was very patient and genuinely cared about making sure I was comfortable with the knowledge he was giving me. I am so grateful to be a long time member of such an amazing credit union.

If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. I applied for a loan and then was called saying I was approved. But I was told there needed to be something passed through underwriting and I would get a call back. Well I did not receive that so I called back and was later told that I was never approved and the person I spoke to had no information I was approved. I was told I was going to receive a call from a manager about the issue and still to this day I got no call. BEWARE OF THIS CU AS THEY DONT KEEP PROPER RECORDS FOR PHONE CALLS. The absolutely lost my business for sure and I will never recommend them.

I had never heard of this credit union until I got a new car and the dealership got me a loan at Community Choice. I probably would not have even noticed further until COVID happened and we needed a PPP loan for our small business. The whole process was a nightmare until I got in touch with Tricia and April at Community Choice. From then on, it was smooth sailing. Tricia took the time to help me figure out which documents were needed and on Friday at 10 PM she was emailing me to follow up. What banker does that? I was so frazzled about the whole process I could have cried I was so thankful for her kindness and help, even way later than business hours. April took over once the loan was approved and we received our loan. We are so thankful for these two ladies and this credit union which, though small, had their stuff together and was able to help us much quicker and easier than some of our friends who banked at large institutional banks. We would highly recommend this credit union. They care about their members and it shows in the way they go above and beyond to get things done.

My wife and I opened checking and savings accounts, and at the same time I applied for a used car loan.The whole process was handled by Renee and was very smooth and timely. Visited the credit union's main office and was surprised to meet Toros, the Manager, in the lobby. He was very friendly, prompt and quickly answered my questions and got me a new debit card within five minutes. Great service, very efficient. Toros is very personable; works directly with customers and is a great Manager.
