Commerce Bank Vine St, Hays

l opened a “free” checking account at Commerce Bank , which you can begin for as little as $25.00 - no joke! Was helped by a gentleman here by the name of “Mr. Michael Hidalgo” - who totally hooked me up with everything l need, including a debit card 💳 and checks. Pretty much in & out of the bank in about 15-20 minutes.

They're always giving me fees and I'm sick of it. I only stayed with them so I don't get the hassle of switching, but after years of them robbing me, I'm done. Trying to convince my family to switch too, plenty of banks that advertise no fees.

The customer service at the bank itself is excellent but when I try to call using the customer service number on the back of my card it is truly terrible.

It would be nice if they stayed opened later like sunflower and opened a lkl ittle earlier for those who go into work before 8.

Generally I don't leave bad reviews but my experience with Commerce in Hays was so bad it can't go unnoticed. A simple misunderstanding blew up into very poor customer service and loss of business for this bank. An issue over 17 cents (which was paid back to them) caused a permanent ban from banking with them - ever. That is either poor policy, discrimination, or lack of caring for customers. At any rate, Commerce will never receive my business again.

I have been dealing with this bank for the last year since they have a branch in FHSU Students Union and I needed a local bank for my salary direct deposit. I found out that they charge $2 for using the teller service inside their bank. Also, if you go to the their local bank or anywhere in Kansas to withdraw or deposit money to your account then they will charge you $2. I have never heard of this at any bank I have dealt with for the last 25 years! This is beside charging the customer $2 for every check you write and another $2.75 for every withdraw from an outside network ATM or a supermarket! What kind of Free checking is that? Free? I do not see any free service provided from this bank! Going to close this account after changing the direct deposit forms with my school. Please, stay away from a bank mislead his customers about hidden charges that don't show up in the daily transactions until the monthly statement is ready and you don't see it on paper because they want to charge you $2 to send by mail!

This is the worst experience I have had at any bank! Seriously, you expect any sane person to actually believe that customers came to the bank requesting that you (the bank) charge the account holder for not using their (account holder) debit card ENOUGH??? SERIOUSLY?? THAT IS CALLED THEFT TO CHARGE SOMEONE FOR NOT USING THEIR CARD ENOUGH!! ABSOLUTLY HORRIBLE!!!! SOUNDS LIKE THE TRICKLE DOWN EFFECT FROM DEREGULATION!!! OHHH, BUT IT'S A NEW POLICY??? THEFT IS THEFT!! BAD SERVICE IS JUST THAT, BAD SERVICE!! POTENTIAL NEW BANK CUSTOMERS LOOKING FOR A BANK, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.. ....

I have called several times to talk to someone at the bank and each time i’ve called i was on hold for 30+ minutes. terrible terrible terrible
