Commerce Bank E 12th St, Kansas City

My elderly mother moved states during covid year for a family emergency and during the move and getting settled in a whole new place her account went negative. Without allowing her to fix the (small) insufficient amount they called her other states bank and told them to close her account. That is not legal. Also, continued to refuse to allow her to pay the insufficient amount even after she moved back to the state of MO. Thankfully I was able to get her into a good bank that saw that small amount and listened to how they had made it impossible for her to pay it off or open an account with any other bank. Horrible people and shady behavior/shared customer information.

I went to the counter and was told to take a seat and that allison(a woman at a desk) would be with me. I sat down and waited until allison finished with the customer. I waited for about 5 minutes until the man at the counter sent an older gentleman to her, that had walked in after me. I waited for 20 more minutes still with no help from allison or the other clerk so i left. Also the security guard was really creepy and stared at me from the moment i walked in the door to the second i exited the building. When drive up to the window and cash my check it’s so nice and easy. but going inside was the worst.

Got alll the way to this bank finally. First of all the parking lot is set up reall awkwardly and inconvenient. Then the ATM doesn't even work. How is this a commerce Bank branch? This is never an issue at their locations. Two thumbs down here

I love this bank. I had left this bank to go to another bank and had to come back because of it's services and staff who are always friendly and helpful. I especially like that they make you feel as if they've known you their entire life. Thanks Commerce Bank for all you do to make us welcome P.S. Bring back the popcorn

So the bank charges a $8 check cashing fee. I understand that, but my employer banks with commerce and my check is a commerce check. How is that right? That’s $416 a year. What a rip off.

Dear Commerce bank, I went in to the 12th & Charlotte today to cash a check and I was humiliated and discriminated against today by a lady name Alex at the 12th and Charlotte branch. My physical appearance should not cause me t o feel ashamed and dismayed at MY bank when I'm merely trying to cash a check, especially when my checking account has 10 times the check about. When I asked for a supperior, I was told one wasn't available and that everyone here is the same. Commerce Bank, this is wrong in many levels.

The customer service at this commerce bank is definitely top of the line. I had the pleasure of working with the branch manager Nora Ferguson who was very helpful, patient with my questions, and quick to keep the line moving. And even gave me her business card in case I had any other questions or needed help with my account. This location is definitely worth going out of the way for. Thank you all again!

I have never been to a commerce Bank before, and I will never go back. I wanted to see about possibly opening an account, but more importantly cashing my extra payroll check. They had only one teller open with a customer, despite having multiple employees walking around. I waited for almost 15 minutes while the teller and the customer made small talk, asking about the ages of their children, future plans, etc as if i weren't standing behind them. I'm all for polite customer service but this was ridiculous. After finally getting to the window I find out there is a form to fill out, as well as an $8 fee for cashing one of THEIR checks. I didn't have any more time left on my lunch break so I left. This, coupled with all the horror stories I hear from associates, means I will likely not become a customer of theirs.

I have had good service and no problems with any branch but this one. Multiple times i have been given false information only to be given the run around and had to come back the next day to be told the information i was given was completely wrong. Most recently the atm outside took money from me without depositing it. It has now been 5 days and still no word on the status of my missing money. The bank teller was extremely rude when i came in and continued to try to talk over me when i was explaining my issue. Been with this bank for years, but this may be the end of my business with this bank.

I used to enjoy coming to this bank to deposit money through the drive through but the last few times I’ve found myself waiting and waiting 10-15 before someone even acknowledges I’m even there. Last time someone told me after I sent in the check to be deposited that it would be a minute. Again I waited 10-15. They don’t seem to have it together at this bank location.
