Exceptional is the only way for me to describe my recent mortgage loan experience working with Stephanie Willingham and her team (Alicia H. and Daniel L.). This is a long review because I cannot say enough about this team! I initially contacted Stephanie on a Saturday for a pre-approval and I needed a letter right away. She began working on it immediately. Along with the pre approval letter, she sent an amazing recommendation letter putting her name on the line for the sake of me securing my forever home. Stephanie's integrity and honesty is impeccable. She was up-front and honest from pre-approval to closing, always disclosing the numbers accurately and hiding nothing. I was pre-approved just prior to a fed announcement of rate increases. Stephanie immediately contacted me to discuss how this process works, she sent me video clips and articles to explain the current climate of real-estate and mortgage loans. To my surprise, the interest rate at closing had not changed significantly from the pre-approval financial worksheet compared to the national average at closing and there was a 3 month gap from pre approval to closing due to construction delays. Stephanie put everything on the line to get my loan closed with an interest rate and mortgage payment I was comfortable with. After I signed the contract, her team reached out to me for the required documents, the closing date was set, and about 2 weeks later the loan was cleared to close. I used a conventional loan, but Stephanie was knowledgeable of the various loan types and patient in explaining them and answering all of my questions. She made recommendations based on my current and future home plans. I have worked with multiple people in the past and received several pre approval letters. I chose Stephanie based on her credentials, prior reviews and her community involvement. I have not been disappointed, there were literally no hiccups at all on the mortgage loan side of my closing. After our first conversation, Cameron always made sure to loop back with me and check-in to see how my home search was going, calling several times to see if I had questions or concerns throughout the process. I would like to point out Loan officer Stephanie Willingham for being an excellent source for home loans. I was a first time home buyer and went through several larger institutions to find the best value for this arduous process. None compared to Stephanie, she was organized, valued my time, flexible with my response delays, and always seemed to find the best outcome throughout the process. In fact I chose Coastal Custom Mortgage because of Stephanie's services and thorough explanation of the VA loan process even though my estimated interest rate was a percent higher with them. Although, I am happy to say, at the time of closing my mortgage rate went down a percent and a half, and Coastal Custom Mortgage ended up being the best option not only because their customer service but also because of their excellent rate. All in all, I have no doubt in my mind I made the right choice and will be more than happy to work with them again in the future.
