Coastal Credit Union Falls Of Neuse Rd, Raleigh

Coastal services my mortgage and I had already had a negative experience getting my payments to the correct address. I made an appointment at 3pm to discuss an auto loan. I get a call at 8:30 am from someone asking me if I need a loan, and I said yes, but I have an appointment that afternoon. Already a bad sign. I arrived at the bank on time. Zero customers inside the building. One receptionist tells me the person I am waiting to see is at lunch, at 3pm. No one else approached me. One other employee was in her office with the lights off. The person I was waiting for casually saunters in at 3:30 talking on her cellphone, goes into her office and closes the door. I left. I guess they are such a strong and successful bank that don’t need my business. I have never been treated so thoughtlessly when trying to give someone thousands of dollars!

Poor customer service. We have been customers for over 20 years. We paid off our first house and wanted a loan for a second house, but they insisted we make a new account but were unwilling to return calls or actually create the account we tried to set up online. Better to go somewhere that actually wants customers.

The speed bumps suck. But what's worse is the woman at the front desk. She is a complete jerk. It took everything in my power not to cuss. She almost makes me think about switching banks. But instead I'll just go to a different location. Sorry my butt. I've never been more angry with a stranger in my entire life. Note this was not my first encounter where she was a mean person. She also has a tendency to speak on the phone excessively and let the person in front of her hold on for an extensive amount of time.

Friendly bank they still have problems with the technology but the customer service tries to make up for it.

This is not the bank for self employed small business people. Their income to debt ratio metrics are way too restrictive. I do like their seven day access to virtual tellers. Yet the branch personnel leave much to be desired in my experience.

Everything is good there. Good service.

If you need to do some banking, it's a great place for it. I mostly used the ATM outside, which is convenient.
