Citizens State Bank N Main St, Rushville

Here's the facts: I was 3$ a month for checking account at First Financial. I finally took the bait on the dozens of brochures I received in the mail and opened up checking account 10/26/2018 with 17k+ rent check from big farming corporation in Southern Indiana. Expected hold was put on all but $200 for 5 business days, when $4,000 was to be released. I went to back to get 4 counter checks, and it turns 4k was available a day early. I asked when remainder would be free and was told on the 1st. On the first at 11:00 am the funds were not there. I checked on them at about 1:00, was asked to let them give me a call when they had an answer. I told them I needed the info before I left as I had already wrote checks to the government for taxes and had no more money to spend on some much needed things. So, 20 minutes later, yes it's in. It was explained to me that when banks promise funds availability it is NOT a guarantee and "they have no crystal ball" to give definite answers!?!? Ok, fine, but when you were selling me a product, you told a different story. THEN, on the night of Nov. 1, I hit up the ATM for $140 and, for the 1st time in my 37 years of using ATM's it malfunctioned. It said to take cash, the rollers were spinning, but nothing came out. I got out my car and made sure it didn't spit out on the ground. So, next morning I report it and find out to my amazement that the the ATM's are run by a different entity and they will get back with me to see if my losses fits their weeklong accounting!?!? So, as of the writing of this post, I'm in the hole $140 with my business dealings with this bank. I can't imagine how frustrated I would have been if my rent, utilities, or taxes were going to get paid in this week of limbo. I am an optimist though. I think things will improve. Albeit it wouldn't take much.

Reliable bank with amazing customer service. I have banked with Citizens State Bank in Rushville for 6+ years and continue to be very pleased.

I did not even wanna put a star honestly. I had called to stop my automated payments and went through four people for them to tell me my bank had to stop it which did not make sense. And they had said they did not have any of my paperwork. Talked to my bank for them to confirm what I said, that they had to be the ones. Then called back and talked to the same girl who said she could not find my account previously then put me on hold for awhile just to deal with the manager who was crappy for no reason. And tell me after she puts it in the mail it is my responsibility even though I can't control the postal service. Never ever will I use them again.
