We are in the middle to consulting an attorney regarding Chicago title potentially closing a house with invalid Letters of testamentary for an executor. The closing agent attempted to tell me the document was not a public document tho it can be seen in probate documents available to anyone and everyone through the county clerk. The closing agent/office manager no longer responds to email after attempting to pacify my inquiry regarding valid documents to close. We also are attempting to recover back taxes on the home since exemptions were misapplied to the home given it was an estate and no longer occupied. If you are buying from an estate...opt for another closing company.
