CheckSmart Gypsy Ln, Youngstown

So i went in to get a check cashed, these people said they called the company and the company told them i wasn't part of their buisness. i tried giving them the number for rocket mortgage to verify it and i also had it on my phone which i showed them. The lady turned around and said she called the number on the check and there is no number on the check. she then said she couldnt cash it because her boss wouldnt let her. she made me feel like i was trying to scam them or something. i then went to ACE checking and they cashed my check in a matter of seconds i had my money. worst customer service very unprofessional buisness. GO TO ACE!

The front desk woman was so incredibly nice and helpful!

Make you wait forever with 2 people working. Only 1 deals with customers while the place fills up over 30 min or more 1 customer being helped. The person, not helping customers keeps walking back and forth to their little desk in the back. On top of that. They charge 250% more than the others and since girl was approaching overtime... she had to leave... instead of making the money back on the customers they would have helped in that time.

Offered to cash my $3247 check for $300+. When I refused and asked for my check back, they claimed the check was fraudulent and refused to give me back the check, and turned it over to the police. When I prove the check is legitimate, I will be filing a lawsuit against this horrible company. This place is a rip-off and I don’t recommend their services.

They are helpful with all my needs. Also help me with any questions I need answer. All the employees are very nice.

I actually like going here. Michells and Christina are great as well as the other ladies. The ladies there are always professional. They have great sense of humor since most dunno how to take me. Lol. I have a business account through them as well. Definately fair priced and never feel like I'm getting robbed!! "Sometimes you gotta go where everybody knows your name"!!!!

Christina and Michele are great! They treat people with respect and are very friendly. They greet me by name and have such good conversations with them. Excellent service from these two

Had a friend who started working here after CheckSmart made moves to buy the company they were previously working for. CheckSmart went through all the trouble of hiring my friend and placing them where they wanted to go only to turn around a week later and fire them for some kind of performance-related issue. This is obviously corporate BS for saying "we actually didn't want to hire you, we were doing your former employer favor by taking you on so we could fire you ourselves and spare everyone the hassle of having to pay you unemployment because we both screwed up here and don't want to admit it." Also the fees here are outrageous and the customer service was terrible. 0 out of 5 would never return.

They should have the motto "I Can't" since the older woman working there says it for everything presented and has to get help from another person. Please fire the I Can't woman who didn't remember SHE CALLED ME the hour before!!!

Christina and Amanda were extremely helpful and hilarious n a very professional way I may say loved doing business with them
