Chase Bank Via De Ln, Del Mar

One of the worst banks I’ve ever been too. Their customer service is lacking here. Both as a customer & as a merchant manager, their female employees are rude. In 5 years of doing merchant deposits, I’ve never had a tellers make the employees dropping off the deposits feel like an in inconvenience for asking for change or doing multiple deposits. I believe this is due to their either lack of staff or them just not wanting to help merchants. I love personally having chase & all other banks I’ve been to have been an amazing, helpful experience. However this bank, I recommend going to another bank. There is a chase just up the freeway with a lovely staff, as are all other Chase’s

This was the second time I went in to the bank to open a new account and I had the same experience both times. So, I must share my thoughts. The branch is never busy which is good. However, the staff must have gotten used to a slow pace as that is the maximum you will get. The typical "customer experience" is lacking. It almost seems like there is no manager to help motivate the staff or demand better customer care. I will not try a third time.

I’m not sure if I feel more or less save here than other Chase banks that have the bullet proof glass. Which btw rarely goes to the ceiling and we all know those ceiling tiles aint keeping no one from getting in, but that’s none of my business (queue Kermit meme) I know Chase is still implementing their smart ATM’s which dispense 1’s, 5’s, 10’s, 20’s and 100’s. That’s really the only reason I’ll come here is to get smaller bills than 20’s. Service is good albeit a little slow, seriously I’ve been with Wamu and now Chase for 10+ years, I’m in and out of most Chase bank locations in 2 minutes from handing them the slip, but here it’s like they’ve never used a keyboard or 10 key before. Oh well. I’m at least smart enough to write it all down for even the most lamen of tellers. They probably aren’t used to typing in so many commas and zero’s (the 1st comma is easy the 2nd one is hard). Holla. I do like the garden center and the drive up ATM, though there is only 1 on the outside of the branch. I also like the ash tray/trash can and seating right nearby, though no shade or privacy glass.

No one in this branch cares or makes an effort to assist a client. If the system doesn't have the right number they won't give you your money with proper ID. It makes sense that this is a 2 star rated location. The branch manager can't be bothered to speak with customers either.

Went right before they closed on a weekday and it didn’t get busy until right after I got there. I was immediately helped by Lucy at the teller counter and she was really sweet and patient with me checking all the details. When they did get busy, it seemed that someone made sure the customer in line knew they’ll be helped as soon as possible.
