Chase Bank University Ave, Charlottesville

I have been banking with Chase for many years. I've returned to Virginia after being in California for 34 yrs. I am finding it very difficult to find branch locations because Chase didn't think it was important to purchase space here. I located the closest branch and it is an hour away. I had to make a deposit after hours recently, and when I tried to, the 1 ATM machine was not working! I am now looking to switch banks. Very disappointed with Chase.

UPDATE: It's been weeks and I still can't get the branch manager to call me back, despite the fact that I requested on THREE times via their corporate customer service _________________________ Not only was the branch completely closed when I went to visit it in april, but when I visited in person in May, there was no one on site who was able to help me with my issue. Now, on June 5th I tried to call to let them know that I would be coming in tomorrow so that there would be someone responsible there when I arrived, and the phone system hung up on me because there were no quote unquote bankers available to help me at the moment and they suggested I call back later since they're automated teller system would not be able to help me with what I need to do. I have never had such a bad experience with a bank in my life. Additionally, if you ever get cashier's checks from them, beware! They say that they expire or go stale as they say in the industry 7 years after they are issued. In fact, however, the sale date varies depending on the state in which they were issued. I have been trying for more than 6 months to get my hands on my emergency money / life savings that I put into cashier's checks just in case the world went to hell. I can't get a person on the phone, and I've been to this particular Branch three times with absolutely no satisfaction.

I had 1 specific reason to be in this bank and time was my issue. Talk about knowledgeable, which in turn = time! Beyond polite and friendly! Anyways Mr.Shoup ( call him Jacob was incredible and I appreciated his efforts to get the job done quickly! Right down to teaching me on the App. Just keep in mind the traffic, please drive slowly and safely.

Beautiful building located around the university .I love the modern set up concept. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable.

I opened an account at this branch two months ago, and I was quite satisfied. Jacob was helpful and efficient while opening my account. My only complaint would be the lack of parking.

I've been banking with chase for over 7 years and it seems like they're going down hill quick! My account got breached through the chase mobile app and all of my money was taken ( not authorized) and I got 3 over drafts which now I'm negative 200... im told I have to wait 10 days for my money plus an additional 3 days for the over drafts to return yet it took seconds to steal hundreds out of my account! I will be switching banks

Called this bank over 10 times trying to inquire about a check that I deposited that they put a 7 day hold on, couldn't get anyone on the phone not a single time I called. This bank gets worse by the day. This bank normally allows me access to my deposited checks up to 500 and will hold the rest until the next day. Why put a 7 day hold on the entire check?

We came here three times and still could not get the thing done. Very disappointed. Each time we came, they had new requirements for the documents that they said they need. Poor service.

I thought Chase bank would be better then Bank of America,but turns out its not!! What's the sense of having an account with them if you cant really use it???!!! I use my account just like everyone else to pay Bill's, shopping, and depositing checks and then they want to close your account for something as normal as that!!!! I see why alot of people say never bank with Chase but I gave them a chance and I actually liked them until now!! Then they cant really tell you why they are closing your account!! And it's an inconvenience totally!! I will NEVER recommend no one to bank with them NEVER!!! If they keep up with this they will lose alot of people and make other banks outstand them as far as banking is concerned!!

I have used this branch several times for regular transactions. Today I needed to exchange some currency leftover from a recent trip to Europe. Tim was able to help me get out together with the proper currency and did it all with a smile. Awesome team here and happy to have them in Charlottesville.
