Having sold properties in Vermont, Massachusetts and California through Realtors, Soren Pfeffer is the best Realtor with whom I have ever worked. Soren is ethical, conscientious and experienced. Early on, I was very impressed with Soren's advice that always had my best interests in mind. Over time, I learned that Soren also has a lot of experience in the fields of construction and architecture that provide him with a very wide and deep comfort zone when it comes to Real Estate. In summary, Soren was a true advisor to me because he had the experience to know what should be done, advised me well, and had the energy and local connections to get my property sold very efficiently. I'm sure that Soren can do the same for buyers as the new owner of my former property was also very happy with the sale.

I —cannot— imagine having used a different buyer’s agent for my first house (or ever, for that matter). Soren was exactly the kind of agent I hoped I would find: responsible, kind, patient, and relaxed— but nevertheless diligent— and ever-helpful. It is not an overstatement to say that Soren was a dream to work with. My experience with other people in real estate when renting has been horrible. Pushy, rude, untrustworthy, etc. Nothing of that in Soren. I loved working with him and continue to be amazed by how thorough, knowledgeable, and friendly every single person he’s put me in touch with to work on the house has been. Soren recently helped my family find a beautiful home in the upper valley area. He was willing to explore homes in many different areas, in order for us to find the place that is just right for us. He was very responsive to my emails and texts messages. He worked late one evening in order to get our offer in ASAP, which we greatly appreciated. His knowledge of architecture and how homes are built was very helpful. He thought of good questions to ask and had useful insight to offer. The whole process ran smoothly and we are happy to enthusiastically recommend Soren.

Soren was very quick to get all the answers to the questions we had and was very thorough in helping us understand the agreements that needed to be signed. I highly recommend Soren as your realtor and for buying or selling!

I highly caution those who wish to engage Mr. Pfeffer as their real agent and cannot recommend using or hiring him. We found him to be out of touch with us as clients and wholly motivated by the sale--not our interests as buyers. Like many Vermonters, Soren made many assumptions about our intent and our finances that set us up for disaster. Not everyone buying property up here are "clueless flatlander with a big bank account". Mr Pfeffer not only misrepresented who we are--but misrepresented himself as impartial, or even remotely interested in being a good representative. The result? We got our house, but missed critical negotiations that we believe could have balanced certain liabilities. Costs that could have been avoided add up in total negotiations. Whatever you do, do not under any circumstances allow yourself to be mislead by the "laid-back" style this man exhibits. He simply does not care about the buyer. I have never in my life met someone so absolutely out of touch with his client's needs during a stressful time of buying a home. We complained numerous times to him about his lack for proactive representation and to be fair-did not choose to fire him. At first, we thought Soren to be a bit receding, as he was not proactive or engaged in out interest. Accounting for a difference in style or personality is one thing but we were immediately alarmed when he misstated our inspection times and cost us one week. Luckily the seller granted us the time back. After this, he advocated continually and countered inspectors and our contractors so such that we had to ask him--for whom do you work, the seller or us? This was noted not just by us, but by our GC and electrician. He did little to nothing to ascertain problem areas of the home and and deliberately underrepresented our wishes on more than one occasion, botching the inspection time allotted, the negotiation of appliances and last., failed to ensure that in fact we were going to occupy a safe home. We had to insist on removing dangerous open wires and having getting the water treatment taken care of. Embarrassingly unprofessional and near useless in negotiations, I would not entrust much to his poor advice. We regret that Soren seemed more compelled by the easy buy-side money and not on representing our need and limited finances--buyers beware!

We searched for a house in the Montpelier and Jericho areas for almost a year without much success because of the incredibly hot real estate market, and the challenge of looking for housing during the early part of the pandemic. Soren Pfeffer was our realtlor/broker during most of this time. He was incredibly patient as we roved slowly from house to house in search of our specific desires. At last, in July, we moved into our new house! Soren gave his all during this time. He thoroughly looked into the details of each house. He worked well with each seller’s realtor/broker. He was honest and totally trustworthy. He was willing to work with us to locate houses out of his area (Montpelier / Berlin ). Soren listened patiently to our specific criteria for a property matching our interests. An added bonus with Soren that one does not often have with a realtor is that he is a trained architect, and has built homes for a living. He gave us input on properties we were looking at from that perspective, which was very helpful. On summary, we would say that Soren provided us with the skills and talents we needed at a challenging time in our lives as we were seeking a home we could truly love.

My partner and I met Soren because Zillow matched us up. At age 59, I was not a typical first time home buyer. And the house we wanted to buy was far from typical too. First the closing was complicated by a tenant who didn’t want to leave and couldn’t be evicted because of Covid. The house itself is complicated - think former pottery studio turned into a single family house then a two family house now with an attached garage and car port and professional darkroom. Soren provided excellent advice every step of the way. From the first viewing to the final walk through Soren answered questions, spotted problems and identified opportunities. Soren also provided excellent advice about other professionals including attorney Robin Freeman and Vermont Floorworks. Soren’s experience made him a steady rudder through some very rough water. We bought the house of our dreams and couldn’t be happier.

Soren helped my children and I relocate from Melbourne, Australia. Soren was both patient and professional, always willing to help me fully consider our options, which ultimately led to us finding our perfect home in E. Montpelier.
