Central One Federal Credit Union Main St, Shrewsbury

I have been a member for a about 10 years and I love doing my banking here. I have my bank accounts, auto loans, and HELOC with Central One and I've never had any issues whatsoever. Everyone I talk to are always so helpful and you can tell they know what they are doing. I would highly recommend!

I have been a customer with them for 20 plus years. Up to about a year ago it has not been very good. You use to have good and friendly tellers, customer service people who did a great job. Now they have rude tellers and customer service reps that are terrible. I went last week to have an old account closed and the women who helped me had a hard time understanding and speaking English. So instead of closing the old account she closed my main checking account. Ok mistakes are made but when I called her she still messed it up. I called a third time and was told by another person that it was an IT issue. The blame game. Well I am going down this week to close my accounts completely and find another place to bank where people are friendly and can understand English. Do not respond saying your sorry because you really do not care.

I first opened an account here in 2002. Left for another bank, and came back. The customer service is unmatched. My entire family uses this bank dating back to 1991 when they moved out this way from the North Shore.

I have been a member since I was 14 and I continuously get denied an opportunity to consolidate my debt with a lower interest rate credit card. I would expect from a credit union like this to want to help customers especially with the enormous fees that are associated with banking at this bank. Instead they are rude and unwilling to treat members with respect I overall am very dissatisfied with this bank and would not recommend it to anyone. Credit unions are in every town don't waste your time here. You should consider the individual and not just make big bank decisions.

I used Central One’s complementary service to purchase a new car. I wasn’t even aware this service existed, but I’m so grateful an employee told me about it. I had a very awful experience at a car dealership at first. Once Central One teamed me up with one of their representatives, he came with me to the dealership and pretty much ran the whole process. He advocated for me and made the process go so smoothly. I walked away with a new car that day! Definitely one of the many perks from being a member.

This credit union has changed for the worse since I joined them in the 1960s when they were the smaller Mass Electric Credit Union. My parents were two of the first members back when my dad worked for Mass Electric. After I payed off a Central One credit card balance last August, they added a $13 finance charge, unbeknownst to me, because I never received a bill. 2 months later, I found out by chance I owed it when I happened to go online to my Central One account. By then, Central One had added 2 late fee charges, and worse, reported me to the credit bureaus, which has caused my credit rating to drop from Excellent to Good. I immediately payed off the finance charge and late fees in October when I realized on my own that I owed them. I talked to a man in Central One's credit dept. in December who said he would correct the problem for me with the credit bureaus, but he apparently never has. A 30-day late payment, for a charge I never received a bill for, remains on my credit reports, and my credit rating continues to be adversely affected by this. I have closed my Central One acct. after some 55 years.

Central One Credit Union is a great organization. I've used them for a multitude of services & have been beyond please. My preferred branch is Northborough, with their creative ideas & wonderful manager!

Really good credit union in Worcester county to bank with for both adults and high school students. And for teen age kids to start banking and helps in educating kids on how to start with savings and provides kids with all education on different kinds of banking (savings, deposits, loans etc)

I have used the Shrewsbury branch many times and as recently as last week. I have been doing business with them for about 15 years. They have gone over and above in customer service each and every time. The lending dept is easy and awesome and don't give higher rates just because the vehicle is older like most banks. You will be glad you became a member of Central One.
