I've been an account holder since 2000. NCB and now Byline. They've always done right by me, even with the occasional overdraft mistake. On 1/13/2018 their fraud department declined a fraudulent transaction and called me immediately to verify whether it was actually me trying to use my card. It wasn't. Well done!

Byline, strange name. Moot. Went to a byline branch on broadway for its new promotional rate. They are holding at least 10K of my dough but refused to cash my dividend check for 12 bucks. The banker lady said I could open account for it, come back in a few days, and then get the money. But...I am handicapped, and over 80, have difficulty getting around, so need to pay a cab. Can I add the cab fare? Then I get to the bank door, with a wheelchair sticker on the door. But the door is hard to open leaning on the walker in my hands, but there doesn’t appear to be a bell to ask for help, for either of two sets of double doors. The wheelchair sticker is supposed to mean handicap friendly, oh yeah? A friendly bystander saw me hassling and helped me in this week. Many banks are running promotions; guess it’s time to shop around more or go to online banks.

I have needed to speak with someone at North Community Bank for two days regarding my townhouse association's account there. I have not been able to physically go to the bank, I just need to talk with someone. I have called them four times and each time gotten an answering machine for customer service. I have left a message and no one has returned my call. My complaints are 1) that for two days I have not been able to get a person on the phone and 2) no one has returned my calls. I obviously cannot recommend North Community Bank.

Overall, NCB was not a bad experience until it changed to Byline Bank. Ever since the merger, there have been changes to rules, additional fees, and poor communication. I finally stopped doing business with the bank when they added new fees to an account (without warning). After they rectified the fees and explained that the account was in good condition and fees would not happen again, the bank deducted larger fees from the account. It felt like a dishonest place to bank.

I wish I never wasted my time working at this bank. Although Training was good and you get to meet some nice people. I worked at the Headquarters on North Broadway. There are two woman that have been there for years and they are lazy. They claim they want you to ask questions but in all honesty, they have already judged you based off your age and the thing you wear. Tekela McKinney just wanted to sit at her desk and not do anything(which is her job), Dolly flirted with every customer, and delivery guy that came in the bank. Allen Wright, the Branch manager, gives his closest favorites weed alcohol in his office. He and assistant Joanna, leave for hours at a time and engage in a lot of NON work activities. If the women don't like you, you're out! simple as that!! This bank is dirty, very unorganized, the HR sucks! because they all knew each other for years, so YOU don't matter at all. Allen Wright only protects himself. He's over the Bernie Mac Foundation, if ppl only knew how he is really. He is a snake in a suit.
