Burke Volkswagen Reviews

Very disappointed. After seeing their ad stating that they have in stock an ID4 1st edition I drove over an hour to the dealership. It should be noted they are advertising this specific car with VIM/Mileage etc on the VW website, their own website, and they're paying for it as a sponsored ad on CarGurus. The dealership looked clean coming in. Only one employee inside. I guess it's their policy not to stand up and greet yourself but rather wait until the customer walks across the dealership to them sitting in their chair. Upon asking about the car, he simply said they don't have it but they can order it. I stated that they are advertising they have one in stock, he said that's not for sale and is only a courtesy car. I asked why they are advertising it for sale. He said I'm sorry it's not for sale, but I can order you one. I told him how dissatisfied it was that I drove over an hour due to their deceptive advertising stating they had one in stock for sale. While he was nice, he obviously knew exactly what I was talking about and simply said I'm sorry but it's not for sale I can order you one. I would never deal with a dealership that is deceptive such as this. If that specific car is not for sale don't advertise it as being for sale just to get people into the dealership. It's not good business. If they're deceptive with their car sales I can't imagine what their maintenance is like.

Their interest in you lasts until you sign the papers, after that good luck with them resolving your issue. No support neither from the Sales Manager(Jeremy Webb), nor from the Assistant GM, who introduced himself as "Jamie"(I had to ask him for his name). I gave him my phone number and guess what, I'm still waiting for his call, not to mention that he acted as if I owed him something. Their sales pitch(one of them)- they offer free oil change for one year "on top of what VW offers" which I understand as an additional one year after the 2-year free care VW maintenance. It turned out this includes only the first year. Ha-ha, VW already has that!! They duplicate the service that is already in effect just to look awesome and the people fall for that. A dealership should bring trust to the first time customers and what I got was a lack of care and an arrogant attitude. An excellent example of how to lose a Customer for good...

Excellent Subaru service mechanics !!! After my 2017 Outback had 4 emergency road side trips to my dealership in Pa. Chip and Jack fixed it in 30.minutes NO charge. These guys are great Wish they were closer to me. Highly recommend !!!

Stoped by to get a slow leak checked out and they put car in shop right away. Found badly damaged tire and ordered a replacement. Offer a wonderful military discount too.

My car was at Burke for service. They sent their courtesy car to pick me up, but never gave me an approximate time that he would be here. At approximately 2:19 I got a call that the driver was outside my house to get me. Unfortunately, he was outside of a stone harbor residence and I’m staying in cape may. After unreturned text messages, 2-1/2 hours later he shows up at the cape May address. A little more communication would have been nice. I will continue to have my car serviced at Burke motors, mike and jack are top notch, but whomever is running the courtesy car department needs to improve their communications.

Always great to come here. Colin the vdub advisor kept me up to date on my service and it was decently priced.

Please save yourself the heartache and go somewhere else. I recently went to Burke for a 2017 Beetle I had found online (still have the PDF of the advertsiement). I called and placed a deposit on the vehicle with Christina in the Pre-Owned section (she was wonderful). She calls back and tells me Peter Ferenz, the pre-owned sales manager, raised the price of the car after I inquired about the car and placed a deposit. When I went to the dealership to purchase the car, I was greeted by Jeydi (another fantastic salesperson). When I brought up the $3k price increase, Peter had a full blown temper tantrum. I asked if this is how he does business and he said he was not going to sell me the car if I told anyone how he raised the price after I placed a deposit. I waited 20 years to buy this car and he ruined the experience for me. After he had his temper tantrum, which was in front of other customers, he apologized for his behavior and extended my Burke Promise for 2 years (I live 1.5 hours away and won't use it because it is too far). The dealership did not honor the price they posted online. The next day I called the dealership to make a formal complaint. I was transferred to Doug Burke, the owner and GM. He feels what Peter Ferenz did was wrong but simply stated the dealership had made a mistake. When I asked if this is how he does business and why customers had to pay for the mistake made by the dealership, he offered to send me a check for half of the price increase. Then he later calls back to extend my warranty instead. I live 1.5 hours away and this is simply too far to make it worthwhile. The owner would rather pocket the money and try to make the buyer feel he had their best interest in mind. I do not recommend anyone go here, especially with Peter Ferenz as the Pre-Owned Sales Manager. Speaks volumes to how the dealership staffs and does business.
Hi Beth Ann, we are so sorry to hear about this experience in our pre-owned sales department. This is not the customer experience we strive to give. We are a family owned and operated dealership that has been in our community for 109 years, and we aim to treat our customers like family. Mr. Burke informed us that the two of you have a nice conversation, however feel free to call him directly if you would like to speak further.

Mike and Jeremy helped me get out of my lease and into a new Outback. They laid out a nice package that was an attractive price. Zero percent financing sealed the deal. Thank you.

My salesman Jim went above and beyond to get me into a vehicle I liked at Burke Volkswagon. He stayed over an hour late when he didn’t have to not to make a sale the same night, but to just show me the used cars he had across the street. I found one I loved and he turned a sticky situation I was in with credit and got me approved for the VW I wanted!!! He really worked his magic. I couldn’t be more happier with the service he gave me and my fiancé. Never once was he pushy! Hands down the best salesman I ever dealt with. Everyone was so nice there from the other salesmen to the guys in the service department. Super impressed!

Burke VW was a life saver today. I'm from NY but vacationing in Brigantine. We took a day trip to Wildwood and decided I should find a VW dealer to hopefully look into my low oil light. I called and they said to come on in. Since I was overdue for an oil change, they got me in right away so that my family and I could get on with our family fun day in Wildwood. As I sit here, I highly doubt my dealer at home would be so accommodating! Thank you for being so helpful, Burke VW. The peace of mind knowing that we can return home in a couple days, free of worry, is priceless. Excellent customer service!
