We went through Big Bear Cool Cabin for our weekend in Big Bear. The price for the cabin and all the fees came to $2800 for the weekend. We got the keys for the cabin and got in about 10:00pm on Friday. The porch to the cabin was in bad shape, there was no porch working porch light. Even after my granddaughter tripped over the 1st step on the porch because it had wet ice on it and we couldn't see in the dark, we were still excited. When we opening the door, the living room and downstairs area smelled of old stank. There was no heater downstairs and the spa was covered in a dirty cover that no one wanted to touch. The stairs leading to the second floor had torn carpet at the 3rd from the top stair and nails were sticking out. The fuzz ball table was filthy, and the whole place was dusty. The shower heads in the upstairs shower leaked from multiple places, and from the windows to the floor. The Alpine Escape cabin was no escape for us, it was totally disappointing and we encourage anyone to think twice before settling for this cabin. Not sure why Cool Cabins would offer up a cabin in the condition that this one was in, but it was not ok.

I want to thank Alisa of Big Bear Cool Cabins for her help with my payment problem. She was efficient caring and supportive of my issues. She made the necessary changes quickly and made the change of bank account info a seamless process. Thank you you are a true professional and a supportive person. Highly Recommended.

Im so grateful that I got to work with Alisa. I had many questions and concerns and she took each and everyone of my calls with grace. She is adaptable and kind and she checked in with me after picking up my keys to make sure that it was an experience that I hoped for. She worked with me to help me get in touch with maintenance as well. I'm so appreciative for her consistent kindness as she worked with me.

The cabin was cozy and neat. Plenty of extra blankets and pillows. Appliances worked. Property had large yard to play. Kitchen was sufficient. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely use again.

I really liked my stay. Our cabin was awesome and I felt at home. Everything was perfect when I arrived and so very clean and well tended too. If you want a place with peace and want to get away from the hustle and bustle that sometimes we all have in life this is the place to go. I will for sure be there again !!!!

One of the best rental companies in the area. Big Bear Cabin staff work hard for their clients. They are very familiar with the area know the inventory and care about their client's needs first. I highly recommend them!

I loved the place. They have really nice people working in the office. Everything was explained very clearly and they even let me in my cabin earlier than the time they had told me. I would definitely book another stay.

We are currently driving up to check-in today and guess what? We received an email stating that our stay is no longer available less than 2hrs to check in. No explanation provided and when we called there was no attempt at resolving the problem. BEWARE the number of negative reviews seem like genuine people who stay there. After sifting through the positive ones it seems very clear they are written to cover this company’s reputation possibly by employees. So now us 4 friends that were planning on reuniting have nowhere to stay. Thank you for ruining our reunion and weekend at Big Bear. James

Beautiful looking cozy cabins and looks and feels original. We come here once a year for the holidays, friendly staff and very welcoming. Highly recommend it and perfect for the kiddos.

Our go-to for a family getaway. So great to get away for just some peace and quiet. The property is well maintained. We look forward to continuing to stay at BBCC for years to come.

I rented a cabin to celebrate a family's birthday. The cottage was great, clean, and comfortable. The staff is nice. I will definitely rent again.

The cabin was very nice. We were very surprised by all of the amenities and the appliances/tools available to us. It was a great view and great set up.

The employees were very kind the entire time of our stay. I find it funny that we pay a cleaning fee of over $100. There were spider webs above the bed we slept in, the floor gave us and our daughter splinters, and there was dust on practically everything. We also had to clean the dishes, which we were okay with. However, whoever stayed before us did not wash them. They put dishes away with food still on them. I wouldn't have minded any of these if it weren't for the massive cleaning fee. If I'm paying a cleaning fee, I expect to have a clean place to stay.

Great place! Great, clean and nicely maintained rooms. They are moderately affordable and have anything you would want for a nice ski trip. Overall, a great place to stay in Big Bear.

Booked through Airbnb. They cancelled two hours before check in without any excuse. Host tried to email outside of Airbnb to avoid getting in trouble. Called receptionist who didn’t apologize or try to find a resolution.

COOL CABINS PUT US THROUGH HELL. Cool Cabins is a TERRIBLE company who does not care about anything other than money. when we got to the office to pick up the keys, we were told that we had no house and weren’t in the system. the lady we talked to continuously gaslit us and was EXTREMELY rude. we were then told that they had DOUBLE BOOKED our house, and that we had to find somewhere else to stay. they refused to give us a full refund, only offering 50%. on top of that, they offered no replacement housing, and told us our only option was renting their $5000 A NIGHT cabin. they would not cover the cost. they told us if not we have to find housing ourselves. every hotel was fully booked. At this point we’ve been in there for an HOUR, being told that it’s not their fault, don’t blame them, blah blah blah. this was all during an EXTREME STORM. we were expected to find and pay for our own housing or drive back home, which wasn’t possible because we live three hours away and the roads were being closed because of the storm. finally, they figured out that we actually weren’t double booked and they accidentally canceled our stay. an hour down the drain being talked down to by the cool cabins staff. IT GETS WORSE. we finally get to the house during a literal blizzard. they didn’t say where the lockbox with the key was, just that it was there somewhere. we spend 20 minutes searching for it in the freezing cold, already exhausted from stressing about where we would stay for an hour. as we were looking around the front porch for it, a voice started talking to us from a speaker we couldn’t see, probably near the cameras. the person never identified themself, and whenever we asked who they were and if they were with cool cabins, they went silent and moved on to their next question. we were super creeped out because some unknown person is watching us and asking us questions while refusing to tell us who they are. we finally make it into the house, just to sleep in freezing cold bedrooms with no heaters. on top of that, the doors were impossible to close and lock. all four of us had to press our entire body weight against the door to be able to close it far enough so we could close the lock. NEVER RENT HERE. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR WELL-BEING. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY.

Absolutely love this place! Came down to visit friends, and we had a great time with them. I loved the trails well-kept and clean.

Cool Cabins were very friendly and had an easy check in. The problem came when inspecting the bed's, we came across what seemed to be some boogers still on the pillow cases. Other than that problem, it is a beatiful cabin in a great place for a great price.

This cabin was clean and easy to access. I enjoyed my stay and would happily stay here again.

Big Bear Cool Cabins saved our trip! After our first cabin (from a different management company) got canceled an hour before our check-in, we were completely stuck without any options (on my wife's birthday no less). I stopped by the BBCC office and explained my situation to Shayna who immediately started looking through their available cabins. She walked me through a few options and we found one that was even better than our first cabin! Bare Necessities had a great play room and bunk beds for our kids, was walking distance to the The Village, had a hot tub, great kitchen, and overall was just a great cabin. On top of that, Shayna gave us a discount on the cabin and sent us off with a "hot chocolate" kit for our kids and a couple bundle of woods. Thank you so much to Shayna and Big Bear Cool Cabins for turning our terrible day into a wonderful day and saving our trip! We'll be booking through them for all of our future Big Bear vacations.

I rented a cabin for three nights in June for about five hundred dollars. Contrary to the pictures, they gave me something like a dog kennel, dirty, without equipment, and using very old and dirty equipment. Small with a very old quilt that was not well washed, the cabin is very hot and only a fan that moves when it works. Very dirty and broken chairs and worst of all when I called the customer service to send someone to fix the TV problem, the lady who was talking to me suddenly and for no reason hung up the phone. In the contract, everything is the responsibility of the client, while the agency has no responsibility except to charge you for everything.

Our experience was a good one, we wanted to stay longer and it felt homey.

Our stay at the Moonridge sunset retreat was a nightmare from the moment we drove up to the house. The trash and beer bottles were still left from the previous renters, then we get inside and find rat droppings in the living room floor, the water was brown and foggy, so we called cool cabins to have the problems fixed and was told they were backed up but someone would be out to clean and shovel the driveway or if we wanted to leave we could, (mind you it was 7:30pm and pitch black and snowing and we have infants and kids with us and no where to go) we had no choice but to stay the night then as we get settled we find more rat droppings in the rooms. We then have a neighbor complain because our two cars were not parked right in the driveway which was supposed to be shoveled the first night we got here but never was, she calls the cops and city to have our car towed. We must of called cool cabins 15 times to only have a worker named Lauren be SUPER rude to us. It was supposed to be a vacation that ended up being a horrible experience. I do NOT recommend staying here.

The only reason why I am giving them two stars is because they at least assisted with one of the issues that we had. We stayed at cool cabins for two nights for a weekend get away. When we got to the location, it was barley clean, the front deck was dirty, so we thought no big deal. It’s just outside. Then we went go inside, downstairs portion wasn’t bad, we went upstairs to the room and we didn’t even know if the sheets were washed or cleaned from the previous visitors. Anyway, we didn’t complain about that at all, it was just a little frustrating because we paid over 800$ for two nights but we made the best of it. During the day we walked out, the village is 100% not walking distance, I don’t know they advertise that, which was really annoying because we thought that we could walk to the local stores and restaurants. The lake is 100% not walking distance so again I don’t know why the advertise that, especially with two kids, a dog and lugging things around. Throughout the day we walked to the closest restaurant which was very good, came back and thought we’d relax in the jacuzzi. The jacuzzi wasn’t working at all and they couldn’t get maintenance to help us because it was too late, so that night we didn’t even get in the jacuzzi, which was the main reason why we got the place. I will say that they did extend our check out time from 11 to 2 because of that. I really don’t like to complain but I thought I’d put it up here to let someone know to not make the same mistake we did and book with bigbearcoolcabins. Oh and if you are military, you can get a discount. The website does not tell you that, but you need to call prior to paying because for some reason they can’t assist with the discount after a payment has been established even though it doesn’t say anything about a military discount on the website.

Terrible experience, rude staff, property rented not as pictured, bring your own towels, pillows and bedding. Doesn’t comply with town rules for max guests.

We enjoyed our stay but there were couple things that they need to improve like making sure the dryer works, all the light bulbs work, texting us when our room was ready when we arrived and we arrived at the cabin at 3:30 before check in at 4 and the maids were just pulling up at 3:30 and there was no way they could have cleaned everything and there was no mirror in the bathroom and the place wasn’t dusted because there was spider webs all over. Overall the cabin was nice and the location was wonderful.

Im extremely happy with this company especially with Jackie. She took really good care of us. As we live far we didn’t have the ability to manage our own property as we would like too. But thanks to her it was all a breeze. Our phone conversation were extremely pleasant great customer service and sincere desire to help us with our needs every time. We could not be happier. Thank you for making this first time experience amazing. From renting our home to finally deciding to sell it. 100% recommend.

Our family has been going to Big Bear Cool Cabins at least once a year and we always have an absolutely wonderful stay. The owners are always so kind and eager to help in any way possible. The cabins range from cozy to quite spacious, and they're all great. I highly recommend Big Bear Cool Cabins if you're looking for somewhere comfortable, clean, and in a convenient location at Big Bear.

I have been booking through cool cabins for 25 years with my family. Not always the cleanest cabins but the cheapest price. I booked our cabin in February for mid June. We had a death in the family and had to cancel in March and they charged me 10% of the total price of the cabin for 3 days! This was my first time ever cancelling and I was shocked that they would not give me a full refund because I gave them 3 months notice and it was due to a death! I will NEVER book with them again!

Absolutely wonderful! Cabins are very nice for a getaway. There is a market really close by to get any snacks, drink or food you may need. Nice little balcony/patio to enjoy nature from. All around a great experience. Check this place out.

We celebrated my husband's birthday in Big Bear. Big Bear Cool Cabins had all the amenities needed. We all enjoyed the gorgeous view. There was plenty of room for everyone. By far this was the best cabin we've rented.

I cannot stress this enough if you haven't been to the cabins that this resort has to offer you are missing out. The clean air and the peaceful environment are the best things about this place. As far as I’m concerned this is the best place to stay in all of California.

Did not give warning fireplace was not working when they knew a week prior to my visit. cabin driveway was completely iced had to tow vehicle just get out of the driveway front office is not accommodating not sure if they are under new management having rented from them in the past. There are much cheaper options I will not be using cool cabins ever again

The cabin was nice. It had a full kitchen with everything we needed to make dinner and breakfast. The bed and jacuzzi tub made our stay so relaxing.

I love Big Bear & I love how easy it is to book a stay at 1 of the many cabins Big Bear Cool Cabins has to offer. Easy to browse the Cabins on their website and even filter the options you desire. I signed up for their emai list and constantly receive discounts and offers.

I can’t even give this place one star! It was a nightmare. We rented a house at Airbnb and they have their own policy that the guest can’t check-in without a person who invited us. So whole our family including my kid had to wait somewhere until our friend arrive. The one thing that they could offer us is to cancel the whole vacation. Well, what can I say.

It was the most uncomfortable vacation ever. The mattress was extremely worn out. Bed frame was broken with wood sticking out. I scratched my stomach with it. Living room rug was ripped with holes in it. After one person taking a 3 minute shower the hot water ran out. Then after turning on the heater there was an extreme smell of gas. On our last night the couple in the next cabin opened the hot tub and left it open with lights on as it was snowing. Lastly, the back door to the cabin did not close completely. Cold air would drift under the door. This cabin needs a lot of maintenance. I let the office know of my concerns but they said I had to wait at least an hour between showers. I will not use Cool Cabins again. Not cool.

We went to Big Bear Lake for a mini-vacation and we had a great time. These cabins were the best. I give them 5 stars for Service and accommodations.

The cabin was big and had everything we needed also really warm, we did get the cabin vibe which was cool. The employees were great, very respectful, and outgoing.

I rented an advertised Big Bear Lake lakefront cabin from Cool Cabins at 40592 Simonds Dr #1 which turned out to be nothing like advertised. The couch and chair had pet hair all over, were not clean, the carpet was very old and thin, there was a rodent in the closet during the night, and the yard furniture was broken, falling apart as well as the yard had such tall weeds/grass as to not be usable. The property is not kept up. Also, this was listed as a lake front property and sits way back from the lake with no real access to the lake because of a gully full of weeds and bushes between the back yard and the lake. Also, the bed was very uncomfortable. We left after first night and asked for a refund but were denied due to their no refund policy. Also, it didn't feel safe because the key lockbox on the front porch has two lockboxes, and the one next door had the code still on the box which matched ours, so any intruder could have gotten hold of the key, made a copy, etc. Lastly, there was a garage access listed that, first of all, would not open after many tries, and second of all has a two inch curb going into it that wouldn't be good for tires on a car. The overall feeling was dingy, dirty, not kept up. The kitchen was the only clean amenity.

I loved staying here. The place is easy to find. The cabin was big and very clean and accommodated our entire group easily.

I love renting from here super cool staff very friendly, welcoming and detailed. Except for the recent rental I stayed at which i know has nothing to do with this agency ...so i hope it can get the TLC it needs before its rented out again.

We had plenty of room and everything we needed to cook and enjoy ourselves. The beds were comfortable and the shower was nice.

We had an excellent stay. Room was very quite, clean and well maintained. Owners are personable and clealry take great pride in their facility. There are quite sitting areas to enjoy the mountain breeze. Highly reccomended!

Nice and clean cabins. My only complaint is the food service took forever. It took 27 hours for us to get our breakfast package.

Useless staff. We made reservation via Airbnb. There was no any info about checkin process. When we drove here for 4,5 h in traffic staff told us that we should wait for 2 h for person who made reservation. This information was never mentioned prior reservation. Thanks for ruined vacation. They were easy to make reservations with and friendly. The cabin was exactly as described and we had no issues. The parking lot at the Cool Cabins office was incredibly small with limited parking spots and was a bit hard to maneuver in with our vehicle. That was the only minor complaint. Otherwise, it was a great experience!

Stayed in the Honey Bear cabin since it was a last minute reservation and it's what was available. Had I known what we were getting into, I would not have reserved this cabin with Big Bear Cool Cabins. I've been to Big Bear several times over the last 15 years since I've grown up snowboarding. Surprisingly, I've never actually booked with Big Bear Cool Cabins. The cabin wasn't the nicest and didn't have all the amenities as shown, but whatever, I can deal. However after a long day, we just wanted to settle in by the fire, turn on a movie and get comfy before bed. That wasn't the case though since if you had more than 2-3 things plugged in, the power on those circuits completely went out (and i'm talking even just a phone charger). So we had to compromise wife, or TV at times which wasn't exactly the best situation when the kids get grumpy over no wifi and spotty hotspot. We certainly managed with our games we brought from home (board games as described not present in cabin), however we were just disappointed that we called a total of 3 times to help resolve the issue and ultimately we were told, "we rent this cabin all the time just fine." That's ultimately not the service we paid for. Prices of cabins for rent have skyrocketed over the years, and I usually don't mind since I love heading up there for a nice weekend or snowboarding trip, however they clearly need to have the owner look into the wiring to have it replaced or modified. Cool Cabin's resolution to the problem and addressing the concern was just poor. So many other booking services and hotel options they have to compete with in the small city of Big Bear so I do not think it's wise that they just brush things like this off.

Excellent for a get-away from the city. I will be back in the spring for fishing.

Place was nice for the most part. Staff was friendly. Alot of the furniture was broken down in the cabin we got. Though it was a good location. So many small odd requests they ask for as apposed to other rental agencies. Such as taking out the trash once your done or pay a $50 fine, cleaning said home and putting dishes and such away. Messing with the thermostat. Simple things yes, but when spending so much money on renting these homes you'd assume they have a cleaning crew to do it all. Like VACASA for example. Great rental agency. I always use them, this was booked under cool cabins due to the short notice of trying to book something and vacasa was out of rentals (being a big holiday and all). Would come to big bear again. Nice city with very much too see. Would not recommend cool cabins again though. Thier homes are too damaged. You'll spend your time wondering your whole trip whether thier going to charge you for damage that was already there to begin with. If for some reason you do get stuck with these guys, highly HIGHLY recommend taking pictures as soon as you enter the home.

Absolutely unmatched service and response. I do not write reviews but this was unforgettable. We had a rough time with the snow and had to keep speaking with them over the phone to help us with questions on weather, and tons of logistics. We also got snowed in, since we tried to make it down the mountain, and it took 2 hours to get 10 miles, we turned around.. BB Cool Cabins welcomed us back and immediately helped us get back in our cabin after we had already checked out, as we were driving in very bad visibility and tons of accidents. They even checked up on us via text before AND after we left big bear to make sure we made it home safe, not automatedly, it was personal. The service they provided was exceptional, thank you again.
