Bayou Rum Distillery & Event Center Frontage Rd, Lacassine

Been to distilleries in Kentucky, Tennessee, and now Louisiana. Corn is great but sugar is sweeter. Kid friendly, free tour, free tasting the gift shop is great. They also have deals on their rum. Thansk (spelled that incorrectly for some unknown reason)lol. Great place.

While on a road trip from Colorado to Key West in February 2022, the signs along I-10 drew us in to taste some rum! This is a fun place with some very good, Louisiana rum! All the sugar cane is locally grown and there are some good flavors. The staff was friendly, making for a fun, road trip stop. Nice, clean restrooms.

Free tour. Free tour. Free tour. Yup it's free. Bring some cash to leave a tip at least since they're giving you some nice free samples of rum. Nice little gift shop as well. If only there were a restaurant... Maybe coming soon? Anyhow I definitely recommend the place. Just leave the kids at home with a sober sitter.

Great tour with Taylor explaining their Rum manufacturing process from molasses & sugar through distillation then blending & aging. Tastings were free & quite generous. I believe every group in the tour left happy & had purchased at least one of their delicious rums. I look forward to them opening up a courtyard as well as additional possible distillates. This is a fun stop for both imbibers & families.

This place is a must go if you are in the area. They have a great tour guide and free samples!!! Some great tasting rum (didn't use to care for rum). Also had to try the rum cake with some coffee and talk about moist!!

Bayou Rum is cool spot. You do have to drive to this place but it's worth it. Such a big acres of land and the building itself is historic and very authentic. As we walked in, there are tons of Bayou merchandize to purchase, including the Rum products of course. We went on a FREE Tour of the Bayou Rum. We first walked into a theatre room, sat down and watched a short clip about how Bayou Rum was established. Then, a knowledgeable expert guided us around the Rum manufacturing stations, also telling us how rum is made, the ingredients needed and why Lake Charles, Louisiana is a good place to make rum. In particular, you got to check out its new Event Space, the space is very new, with its own bar section, the big lobby area, the barrel library, the outdoor space, it's perfect for wedding, big parties and corporate events. The best part at Bayou? You get to taste some of the Bayou rum samples, they have 6-8 flavours. Personally, I like the XO, Spice and the Classic. I was told that they also recently open up a cafe shop at a building just next door to the main building. I didn't get a chance to check out the cafe, but if you do, let me know your thoughts.

Great distillery, and the rum is top notch. Staff is friendly and kept extra clean.

The tour was so fun and family friendly and the tasting was excellent!!! Bought a few bottles to take home to FL!!! We were driving by on our crosscountry trip so glad we stopped!!!

This is a great stop, the fact that the Distillery uses locally-sourced product from locally-owned vendors is excellent. If you're worried about carbon footprint, you won't find another one this compact. The Spiced Rum has warm vanilla flavor and is wonderful as a mixer in hot beverages. The white rum is also very good on its own as a mixer

If you are driving along I-10, you really must stop and see this place. The building is amazing. The tour through the distillery is free and very informative. Employees are all very nice. At the end of the tour they offer free samples. Our favorite is the Satsuma, it is very good!

Love the great location and the great tastes of ALL the rums here. It's a really nice place that looks non-descript from the road. They provide short distillery tours, samples, and lots of unique gift items from the distillery and Louisiana overall, so if you need to take a traveling friend or a local this is a simple fun stop that will get you in the "spirit" of fun [pun intended]. We always enjoy stopping in on the way to New Orleans to pick up our road supplies of rum straight from the distillery.

Toured the Distillery today and it was amazing. Head dude Jeff was extremely friendly and enjoyable to listen to. You'll have to try the Single Barrel! Thanks again, Jeff!

Went on a tour today and our tour guide was great! She answered all the questions we had and shared some recipes to mix drinks. I wish I would have gotten her name. I will definitely come back with friends for another tour! The coffee shop is also great and they help out a lot as well. Definitely recommend it.

Well they did have lots of Rum with many different flavors and a nice gift shop. Too late for and way too early for the tour. Think they start on the hr with tasting after. Never liked Rum when I drank but still get as gifts. Very nice place and people.

It’s an awesome place. I was able sample most of their offerings. My personal favorite was the single barrel, which to me had the most flavor of the regular rums and similar to a bourbon.

We had a great time on our free tour and Taylor was very informative about their process and had a super personality to go along with it. Bought some amazing gumbo bowls in their gift shop as well!

I really enjoyed our visit here. It's easy to get to from I-10. Lots of free parking. The tour is brief but informative and you get to taste the rum that's made here following the tour. It's a really positive "local" story of a Louisiana family that is doing well for the community. I'm not a spirits drinker but found the taste of their rum to be very smooth. Really liked their Satsuma and Coffee rum liqueur. Purchased some bottles to take home with me and to give as gifts.

Free tour and explanation of the rum-making process, plus tasting at the end of the visit! There's a store where you can purchase all the 5 varieties of rum they make, plus the special 300 extra aged rum (this one you don't get to taste). The tour guide is phenomenal and fun. The tour starts off with a short video, continues with the facilities and ends at the tasting bar. Highly recommended.

Pulled in off the interstate to breakup a long trip. The distillery is easy to get to, has parking for big rigs and RV campers. Tours every 30 minutes, taste test at end of tour with a little history lesson. Nice gift shop, decent specials on select products. Bourbon and coffee rum were the best!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. You can sample most of the rum with the free tour. The facility is beautiful and clean.

We saw a sign for the distillery near the highway and decided to check it out since we had some time to kill. It was such a memorable experience. The entire parking lot smelled like molasses and you're greeted by a beautiful and clean exterior. We were lucky because the free tour had just begun and we were able to join them. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and could answer all kinds of technical, historical and brewing related questions. We saw all machines, and almost all parts of the entire distillery. Inside, they had a huge mural that looks just like my mental picture of Louisiana. Best part was the taste testing after the tour. We got 4 different mini shots of all their current flavoured rums- for free! It truly is the best rum we have ever had in our lives. We will never buy any other rum again unless we're back in Louisiana for this special treat!

Great place to visit if you're in the area. Free tours with a small tasting at the end. Nice gift store with clothing and all their different rums, even exclusives that aren't disturbed to stores yet.

Amazing place and inexpensive date night. Also, great place to buy alcoholic gifts too. Guided tour was awesome, and we will be back in fall.

Didn't take the tour but did a tasting. The guy doing the tasting for us was great! Gave us a lot of very good information. Very good rum. Ended up buying several bottles and a couple of rum cakes. Very friendly staff and great product! Thanks for a great time!

The tour guide was knowledgeable, funny, friendly, outgoing, and had a great sense of humor. The tour wasn't long, but it was full of information, and we appreciated the I side look at how Louisiana Spirits operates. If you're thinking about going, you won't regret it.

It's great to see this place expanding. Tour was informative, I just wished it was longer. Rum was top notch
