Bank of the West Esplanade, Chico

I recently moved my business accounts over to Bank of the West and have been nothing but happy since the changeover. Everyone there is super friendly and willing to help when needed; Kim has also personally reached out to me to help when I needed it. Their any deposit checking account has lowered my overhead AND they invest their money responsibly which aligns with my personal morals/ethics. Very happy with my service.

I was pleasantly surprised by the vintage 1995 attire bank manager Kim sports, did she rebelliously refuse to give it up til it ALMOST came back? She certainly lacks in human decency and ability to cash a 100$ for someone who really needed it, thankfully she was still the best dressed oatmeal in the building. Even behind they're masks the dumpiness spilled out like their lack to comprehend any type of style other than sticking their noses up the obvious white male misogynistic stench of protagonist seeping from the lack of common courtesy and attire they play Barbie in. And every single employee was cookie cutter WHITE.

Staff are great and I'd recommend and work with any of them in a heartbeat. Kim, Leann, Blanche are all fantastic!!! However ... Probably a good bank for neighborhood banking but lacks the robustness to service anything more than that. After spending a lot of time to get an account set up I was disappointed to find that BOTW only accepts deposits from their own branded ATMs - not something that is readily available to me here in Pennsylvania. Disappointing performance now that we're in the 21st century.

I am posting this here because my sentiments are not against the bank itself, but rather toward the branch. The building burnt down, so the staff is operating out of a mobile unit. I am 6 months pregnant and was turned away from using the mobile bathroom units setup outside of the temporary branch facilities. I called to complain and was advised that their bathroom facilities are not public even when their branch is permanent. I just want to berate the staff members (who were also female, additionally disappointing) for having no sense of decency, for embarrassing and inconveniencing a loyal customer and for standing by their inability to rectify the situation.

There isn't one person here who doesn't give you fantastic customer service. I never stand in line long. I miss the drive through but I really like the chance to say hello to the gang, so its not a terrible trade off. There is a night box and atm for convenience. Great place and people.

This bank is trash. They will rip you off and then refuse to answer any questions by simply not answering the phone. Spent 3 full hours on hold on three different calls tfying to find out why my payment didn't post. Eventually, they reported my payment as late, despite the fact that I paid 4x the amount due and called several times to find out why. The callow teller just stood there with a dumb look on her face and handed me instructions on how to file a dispute that will be met with same lack of business professionalism I encountered at every instance with this garbage, 5th rate bank.

Every time I deposit anything over $1000 they hold the check for 10 days. Even if I am depositing a check from another account of mine from another bank. They promised a half percent decrease in interest on my auto loan if I opened a checking account that was a lie. And when I go to the branch to ask a question they advise me to call corporate headquarters when I call corporate headquarters they transfer me to the local branch. This is a horrible bank.

I guess BOW has decided to just stopping have branches or decent hours? I'm taking my money elsewhere

NEVER go to this bank!! they mess with your money and dont make you aware of it at all! they say certain things but the paperwork is all different!! dont trust them unless you want to loose all of your money

Quite possibly the worst mortgage experience possible. 3 months of wasted time. Won’t Honer rates quoted and they tried to force me into a variable rate negative amortization loan. Horrible lender. Take your buisness else where, don’t waste your time.
