Bank of America (with Drive-thru ATM) Meredith Dr, Urbandale

No problems with the ATM on my end & the service was alright.

Often the ATM has not been working. Inside the bank, people are helpful and nice. UPDATE: over the past few months the ATM has been working. Thanks for your response!

I have had the worst experience with this bank. They froze my account I've been without any of my funds for about 2 months now. I brought 2 forms of identification that they have approved on their website. Still won't give me my money I'm still to this day trying to get my money back from this place. Now they are temporarily closed because it's cold outside this place is an absolute joke.

The reason for the three stars is for the customer service in the building. The ladies were very kind and very helpful. The biggest complaint is that now they are shutting down drive up teller service but they are not adding any extra outdoor ATMs? The line for the ATM has been very long and the line to see a teller has been very long. I feel Bank of America should make drive up ATM’s a normal and add 2 to 3 outdoor ATMs to accommodate their customers. Anyways a bank is a bank and it gets the job done when the APP can’t manage what I need to do.

Staff is very nice, try to get there a few hours before close or you will have to stand in line forever though. If you don't have an account and need to cash your check it costs $8.00. Policies are pretty stupid for the amount of money you have to have in your checking account to keep it open without getting a ... penalty charge though.

Never can get anyone to answer phone. Limited/inconvenient locations.

Absolutely poor customer service, called the urbandale location three times during business hours with zero response from a human being. They seriously fumbled a claims matter and I’ve also had to deal with petty penalty fees constantly, in my opinion,take your business elsewhere, to Bank of America your just a number and only your dollars matter.

Seriously what's the point of having four drive-through lanes and one open. Always every time I'm here. And the drive-through that is open is the commercial lane so people are doing deposits that take 20 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous. Part 2 of the review of this bank. It is gotten no better. I went in to deposit money today and I had to show an ID to deposit cash. I have never heard of anything quite so dumb. Also there were 5 tellers behind the line and 2 working. This banks needs help.

Drove up Saturday to middle lane to find out it was out of order (other two lanes had cones in them / they always do ). So drive around to business lane which now has two more car's in line. So wait forever and when I give teller my check, slip and Id she then says I must come inside. I ask why and she says they need to talk to me and that I must drive around , park and go inside. So I said give me my check back and I'll go to my credit union down the street , so she goes out of sight comes back with my transaction completed and says she got it done but now they were going to have to call me! They never did , but I sure wish they had. I've been a customer since late 80's and this time was enough for me to take my business elsewhere.

I was charged a maintenance fee for 6 moknths on my interest checking account, even though my account met all the requirements and had much more than the minimum amount in it. I went into the bank to ask if everything was setup correctly and understand why this fee was happening. My fees were refunded and I was assured the problem with the accoutrements had been fixed. Yet again, the fee was removed from the account. I will be moving my accounts and would discourage anyone from banking here. You have to watch your accounts like a hawk to avoid getting scammed with unnecessary fees.
