Bank of America Financial Center Reviews

One of the worst BofA experiences ever! I've been a BofA account holder for over 20 years, was treated like a nobody! Staff weren't helpful, could not assist me in processing a transfer, instead told me to do it myself online... pathetic customer service!!!

I visited this branch to make a deposit into my personal account from my business account as I do every month and for a very similar amount every month to pay my Home Mortgage that is also with Bank of America. A hold was placed on my check, which has never occured previously. I have been banking with Bank of America for 39 years. I asked why there was a hold and was referred to the 'Manager' Susan Ross by the teller. She offered me no options, refused to call any one to attempt to remove the hold and even verified that the funds were already being removed from my business account and that there were adequate funds. Then when I ask why as a manager she could not and most importantly, would not try to do anything to help me as a manger, she promptly told me that she was NOT a manager and could do anything. Eventhough, I was directed to her as the manager and her card says 'Relationship Manager'. I then asked for the manager and was told there was not a manager there. Don't expect any kind of personal service from Susan Ross the 'Relationship Manager' or this branch.

Wish I got the name of the Banker at this branch for this review. She was rude. Not only to me but rude to the other employee. I didn’t even want to meet with her after watching her horrid attitude. No customer service skills at all. There is a nice way to speak and a rude way. She was rude. And it wasn’t even a complicated question that was never asked. I will find another branch

The absolute worst B of A. Plenty of enployees standing around with clipboards and looking over the shoulder of the one inexperienced teller while the line builds to 10 deep. Even when there appears a revolt is starting - management stands there like deer in the headlights! Go to Five-Points B of A! Helpful staff and no one sitting around doing nothing!

I generally bank at a BofA closer to my home but I stopped here because it was close to work and I needed to wire some money to close a home loan refi. The staff could not have been more helpful. I was greeted by an employee at the help desk who offered me something to drink and then met with another person who took care of my transaction. On top of that, they waived my fees. I can't say enough about how nicely I was treated and how quickly they processed my transaction, even though I didn't have an appointment. This was truly top notch customer service and I highly recommend them.

I used to love this branch because the tellers are nice and efficient. Not so much anymore. When I walked in to the branch today, I found that they had replaced all but one of the human tellers with "teller-assisted ATM machines" in which you can do semi-automated transactions with a remote teller on video chat. Sounds fine in theory, but in practice, it was an absolute joke. My deposits normally take about 30 seconds - I hand the teller a deposit slip and a handful of checks, they run the checks through a machine that scans them quickly, the teller hands me a receipt, and I'm out the door. Today, I was on video chat for 15 minutes while the remote teller tried to figure out why the machine mis-scanned my 2 of the 11 checks I was depositing. After multiple attempts, he decided that the machine was simply unable to scan one of my checks, even though it handled another check in the same amount from the same issuer with no problem. What a complete waste of time. And meanwhile, there were at least a dozen people waiting in line to be served by the one remaining human teller. Time for BofA to realize that banks need to be staffed by humans.

Ok. First off- the majority of the tellers here are nice, friendly, professional, and competent. However, there is one female teller who I think works as a semi-supervisor/teller who I cannot stand. She's a little on the heavier side, brunette, maybe mid to late 20s, has a super sing songy tone of voice and is in general unbelievably condescending and rude to customers. She always likes to try to force people to use the teller video machines in a really incredibly condescending way. Now I get that BOFA forces their employees to try to get people to use those, but geez- it's been a few years and they're always empty. People DO NOT WANT TO USE THEM. Instead of greeting me like like an indignant Kardashian sister reject, maybe you hop back behind the counter and start actually helping move the line (typically about 6-7 long) along but sans attitude. It's to the point where I let someone go ahead of me if I'm going to have to do my transaction with her.

I am going to elaborate on what Matt said previously. I walked in to make a deposit into my own account and into a business account that was not mine. When I am depositing money into my own personal checking account, I will normally use the ATM's outside (despite having a machine at their Corona del Mar location, miscount the amount of cash I had deposited). Luckily, the bank was open at that time, and it took about 15 minutes to clarify how much I had deposited. I was not happy however. Today, I entered inside the bank at the Seacliff Village Shopping Center, because I had to make a large business deposit, and a substantial personal deposit as well. I proceed to the table where the deposit slips are located, take my sunglasses off and set them on the table, and then I proceed to fill out the deposit slip when an assistant at the bank, interrupts me and convinces me to use the automated teller machine that is inside the bank, equipped with a real-live video conference with a teller from who knows where. Aside from only feeling strange to be talking to a woman on a screen, my deposits are completed, and I am done somewhat quickly, even though it would have taken the same amount of time for me to go to the real teller that was working that day inside the bank, which is normally what I prefer to do. I prefer to deal with real human beings when making large deposits, because machines can screw up. Simple as that. And I hate it when you walk into the Bank of America locations nowadays and an assistant asks you what you are doing and tries to convince you to use the machine. All in all, I lost my sunglasses, because when I went over to the ATM machine inside the bank, I left my sunglasses on the table where the deposit slips were. And now I am sick of explaining anymore of why it was the assistants fault that I lost/someone snagged my sunglasses, so I'm just going to say F**k Bank of America! Machines suck. When I walk into a bank, just let me do what I f**king want to do!

We have lived in SeaCliff for 20 years and banked at FivePoint BofA for several years before this branch opened. It is very convenient for us, and we couldn't be happier with the service.
