Bank of America Financial Center Ninth St, Oakland

Very unfriendly person greeting at the front desk. I had walked in to tell them that they're ATM machine had just finished swallowed my card, which wasn't even a B of A card, I don't bank at B of A, bad experience from the past. This time I am equally as upset if not more upset!! The greeter at the front desk told me in not so many words that I HAD TO call the 800 number on the ATM machine, because "B of A doesn't handle this issue"... I said " WHAT!!!!!!", they also said I have to take it up with MY BANK'S CARD issuer, AND THEY WOULD NOT Help ME AT ALL!!. I AM stuck now without my card that sits in the B of A ATM machine. Gee thanks for NOTHING B OF A, for making my life harder, plus the state of your atm machines is disgusting!!! They're DIRTY!!! Very disappointed customer.

Worst Bofa location. Their notary service sucks. Even after providing original documentation they refused to notarize the copy of the documents. Gave random reasons for not doing it.

They're not very helpful beyond the bare basics of banking. Very bureaucratic staff with a low sense of helping customers when they feel stuck. They also have very little knowledge about the different services that BofA provides. It's best to go to the other branches in Oakland or Alameda if you have banking or paperwork problems.

It was my first time doing something at this branch, my overall experience was very good. It is quieter than other areas of Chinatown. The line wasn't longer than other branches, staff can speak triple languages, as enable them to be more helpful, customer services are great. I was cautious when I walked in, due to other poor reviews, and I felt such a relief when seeing how they warmly helping me with my business there.

Nice security guard helped me locate where I needed to go when he saw me looking around confused. Maybe 5 min wait for a teller who was very nice also. Handled my withdrawal quickly.

The team at this branch are really friendly. Especially ask for “Kevin Wu”. He is the best. Really really good for any account related queries.

I legit almost didn’t come to this bank because of the reviews. Just moved to Oakland and really needed to hit the bank. Now this is a realistic review I’m even doing it in the car because I couldn’t wait until I got home. Just went to this BOA had to exchange Euros that I forgot to do when I just got back / got quarters / and did a withdrawal (Which I broke down into ridiculous bills ) it did take me about 10 minutes but they had to figure out the rates before depositing into my account. Zhu and Shirley went above and beyond to help! I didn’t say I was leaving a review or anything they smiled and we chatted the entire time. The other clerk was getting people in and out of there quickly also. I had a great experience and everyone else who’s like me and checks reviews before going to a place needs to leave a good updated one like myself! so these negative reviews can stop giving the wrong idea about this BOA location. Thank you again Zhu and Shirley, I’ll definitely return next time I need anything.

Based on the reviews, I wasn't expecting a good experience. That wasn't the case for me. I arrived at 3pm on Friday and immediately saw the Bank of America employee. She even filled out my deposit slip for me (I should have done that). I then asked her if the bank could sign a form that I needed for a travel reimbursement. It was a form that required the manager's signature -- I got that in less than 1 minute. My experience was a solid 5 of 5.

Poor customer service from branch and bank. Came in to talk about some bank fees. The banker changed my account so she said I wouldn't get any more fees or have any issues with it. I had to ask her what the minimum balances were if there were any. She said $$$ and so I left. I then saw again bank maintenance fees and so I came back to talk to them and the greeter said "oh those are daily minimum balances" and basically said "too bad for you." I told her the banker never specified but she didn't care.

This is the worst bank I have ever been to! I came in with a complicated issue that another bank had started and was given the most junior associate available. She had to run off every minute or two to ask her manager. After an hour I left with my problem unresolved! Dealing with Bank of America is difficult enough without having to deal with employees that are not helpful and waste too much time running back and forth to their manager!
