Now this has gone FROM BAD TO WORSE. I have gotten nothing but BAD SERVICE. Spoke with the owner of the agency about my issues and he refused to own up to their errors, repeatedly said they don’t typically have this problem with customers as if I was making up their complete lack of communication, and said correcting the problem was “out of his control”. They sucked me in with their rates but provided no information as to all the hoops I would have to jump through to actually get these rates. I only found out about the requirements when beacons for the cars showed up in the mail and I called to ask if we were required to use them (yes) and when they informed me a discount that they never mentioned was removed because my kids didn’t complete something or other. After receiving multiple vague texts and an email from the salesman asking if I had any questions, I specifically asked if they needed anything else from me and got NO reply, but then was told some discount was removed. After receiving this treatment as a new customer, I am not comfortable being insured by State Farm and will cancel my policies as soon as I have alternate coverage. Save yourself the aggravation and DON’T CALL STATE FARM. UPDATE: NOTHING BUT TROUBLE. After having this Auto policy for a month, we have had nothing but problems and miscommunications. When providing quotes and writing the policy, John NEVER mentioned or explained the discounts included and the requirements for these discounts. We received beacons in the mail for the Drive Safe and Save discount, which was never mentioned to us. When I called I was told we are required to use them in order to get the price we were quoted. One beacon wouldn't work due to an error on State Farm's part so I had to get that corrected. Then we were told the Steer Clear discount was removed from the two cars my 18 & 20 year olds drive because they did not complete the certificate. I had no idea what this was about because it was also never mentioned. I have received many vague emails, texts, and letters about all these discounts that were never explained to me. And I have spent way too much of my time making phone calls and sending emails to make sure everything was all set. After getting no response or being told it was all set, I was informed that if I want the price I was quoted then my daughters have to install ANOTHER app to take quizzes, log driving hours, etc. in order for them to add the discount back on. THIS HAS BEEN THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF EASY. IF YOU WANT A STRAIGHT FORWARD QUOTE AND POLICY DO NOT USE STATE FARM. Their rates are low but I guess you get what you pay for. John Donlon was amazing to work with. He made the process of switching our Auto and Home insurance fast and easy, which was a pleasant surprise. John was responsive whenever I contacted him but did not bother me with constant follow-ups like many insurance sales agents do. The State Farm rates are fantastic and John was a pleasure to work with. I am confident he will be able to help us with any assistance we may need in the future.
